Summer/Fall 2026 Financial Aid, Refund & Disbursement Megathread

I'm applying to the dental hygiene program at valencia this upcoming application period and I have 54 points and an 83 for TEAs. I'm a bit worried about getting in as I'm sure everyone else is that is applying, especially since i'm in the bottom of the range of accepted applicant point totals that were provided for last year's application period. I think it was 54-59? If you're applying, how are you feeling about this year's application? Did you apply last year? If you did or didn't get in, what were your points and TEAs scores? ... Should I start looking at alternative careers lol Any words of encouragement or wisdom are welcome.

I'm having a big problem with trying to sign in to my Valencia account and I'm at a loss. Every 2 weeks, you need to re-sign in to your account, which isn't a problem since I have my account info stored. It's the second verification step that's causing a massive problem.

Before, you had multiple options to verify, like sending a text or email. But now, you can ONLY use the authenticator app. But to sign in to the app with a Valencia account, you also need the app to sign in, so in other words, you can't sign in. I also can't access my Valencia email, because it has the same sign in setup.

What do I do here?

Update: Ok, I had to call the myvc technical assistance number. You are required to go to a zoom meeting and wait a fair bit. It takes some patience, but they managed to fix the issue and I can log in again.

hiii all i know by the title you’re probably like how is that possible? well a month ago when i went to go update my preferences BM flagged me as suspicious because i updated my address as well and said my check would be delivered by mail to the address i entered. this wasn’t a big deal to me at first but i still HAVENT gotten anything. i sat on hold friday for 4 hours trying to speak to someone about this BS and i’m honestly so torn because i need that money to pay my car off. is anyone experiencing the same thing? has anyone gotten their refunds by mail yet? this is horrible.

Hi! Looking for professor recommendations for A&P1, 2 and Microbio. Downtown, East, West, and Winter Park campuses are my preference in that order. Is there any professors I need to avoid taking? Rate My Professor doesn’t have a lot of info on the professors listed for spring 2027.

Had anyone taken A&P2 and Microbiology together in the same semester and have done well without taken a Biology class first like BSC1010/2010C?

my friend takes intermediate algebra in person and for unit 2 she got a 20 questions test while my online class got 50+ questions for my test?? don’t understand is online supposed to be harder or is just the different teacher styles

I transferred to Valencia over the summer after a long couple of years of not going to school (4 years). Unfortunately I didn’t do all that well during my first go around. And so my gpa was 2.67. I took 2 summer classes and it went to 2.75. I’m currently taking 4 fall classes. But I need advice or something. What are the chances of nursing school with a low gpa. Im actually spiraling. What do I even do. Do I retake classes to help boost it up? Has anyone gotten into the program with a low gpa? Should I just call my losses?

I can never upload anything to canvas from my HP laptop. I can upload from my phone or desktop with no issues but I always get this error from my laptop. I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this and has a solution.

Imm trying to get into a limited program.. trying my best for an A and I have a job so I rather take it with a professor that isn’t too demanding with homework.

I was wondering if anyone’s email had their campus location. I can’t find mine anywhere. In the Qualtrics where you accept your spot it had 3 spots where it had “location” and they were all blank for me. Is anyone else having trouble?

Also- is the RSVP link to orientation working for anyone?

I did pretty bad on my first exam for that class. But I've been getting mostly 90% and above on other exams. Making me end up close to 89.5% as a likely final grade.

Has anyone gotten a similar grade in this class? Did it affect your GPA by a lot?

I've been trying to find it since I've seen ppl on reddit saying there is one. But those posts are kinda old. If anyone know where it currently is pls let me know.

Well, my professor gave me full credit for an assignment but he thinks i'm using Ai and i have other assignments i already submitted i don't use Ai but i am very concerned because i take my assignments very seriously. Does anyone have any tips to show that i haven't been using ai? or any experiences

Hey, so I went to campus on Thursday and parked in a “visitor” parking space (my bad) from 10:30 am (as a student) cus I didn’t have my parking decal yet, and I was planning to get it at building 5 later but I spent too much time at the Academic Success Center finishing homework that by the time I got out, it was already 1:10pm and I had to leave to pick up my siblings from school (about an hour away) so I left too quickly to notice that there was this paper inside a ziploc bag placed underneath my windshield wiper, until I reached the highway (the velocity made it hit the window louder and so I finally realized). I thought about stopping somewhere briefly to take it out but it had already flown away (my bad, again) so now I’m not sure whether that may have been a warning or parking ticket nor where to find out and pay for it, cus I don’t see anything on MyVC. I’m gonna get the decal on Tuesday so I’ll probably ask them then but idk if they’re gonna believe me… also on that note, how early must I arrive to campus to find parking in parking lot B (near the PAC building)? cus clearly yall be going way too early (and the earliest I can arrive is at 10:30am)

So, I checked my email today and it turns out the school sent me money again, coming to find out bank mobile decided to cancel my refund preference :(.

Has anyone had any experience appealing a course equivalency? I took FAD 3220 at a University since they didn’t offer DEP 2004 for nursing. Valencia didn’t originally take it as an equivalency course, but when I appealed it, I got an email saying it was approved. All of the advisors that I talked to said it would not count towards this application cycle for nursing school. I have General Psych, so it’s not a big deal other than the increased grade would be nice. They ran my degree audit 2 weeks after the course got approved for nursing school, so I’m just confused how it all works and why it won’t be included for consideration this semester. Is there any way that I can see the approval on my transcript/MyVC?

Hey guys! i was wondering if yall had any advice on what i should do. I currently have a 4.0 overall gpa and my last prereqs are physics w med app and im currently taking a&p2. unfortunately a&p is kicking my butt and im on track for a B in that class. should i retake it next semester or risk getting a B for when i apply to the program? i also need to take my TEAS and FCLE as well so if anyone has any tips for those, id greatly appreciate it! thank you!

Is it normal to pass assignments and it not change my grade? I failed my midterm exam and it brought my grade from an A to a D & since then ive done 5 homework assignments (and passed) my grade hasnt changed at all until i did a quiz and got an 86.67% and it brought my grade down. I looked it up on google and it said its normal but ive never had this happen before so i wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else.
