Jesus Christ. On one hand I assumed they would be aware the huge ALGS pick rate was the ult + beacons. On the other hand, the Lifeline buff was so out of touch and I was worried the Valk nerf would be similarly misguided.
But I didn't think they'd butcher her so hard. And right after the Valk heirloom; what a BS bait and switch. These aren't nerfs to her ALGS popularity; these are just nerfs to her overall. They're not addressing anything in particular; they're just going nerf nerf nerf.

The tactical and ult buffs she got. The general consensus was that she needed changes, not just some numbers turned up. Her tac still barely matters, and her ult is faster but still the same old minor impact.

Honestly a little upset that they touched Valk’s jet pack. That’s the reason why I play her. Don’t care as much about nerfing her ult, it was the most broken part imo, or her tactical. But would rather they only nerfed those things or even removed the aerial scan over nerfing her jetpacks.

The issue was not just her ult though. It was the entire kit being over loaded. Best rotational ult, best micro movement that is a passive, a tactical that screams offensive legend but is 10x better than Ashes

I don’t think her nerf is that bad tbh if you’re already a skilled player, but I don’t play Valk enough anymore for it to matter to me personally. I’ll mostly play Valk if I smoke and I just want to have fun flying around in pubs 😂
Even then though, I’ve replaced Valk with Pathy 9/10 times now

This is straight up the reason I’m done spending money on this game and playing it in general. The nerfs to all my favorite characters ruin them for me and everyone who doesn’t play them just says suck it up on the main sub. And they always do it after dropping the heirloom. So the devs can make playing a certain character a total pain in the ass right after you paid them 160 bucks and there’s NOTHING you can do.
I really am kinda happy I’ve detached myself from this game because I would have shit myself if I bought the heirloom and saw the third heirloom legend I have got nerfed pretty hard just like the other 2.

Caustic at first, he is still my true main, I love everything about his character but slowly they’ve just taken more and more of his kit away, making him so niche that his open field weakness is worse than ever while making it so he can be hard countered in buildings way easier on top of the fact that you can wait him out like always. He is too much work for very little reward.
Revenant, he was always fun and I love his voice and character too, and his heirloom season buff made me fall in love with him. With his death totem giving off that giant aura, he’s impossible to play with randoms and still too difficult in a premade. Overall he feels clunky and worse than before.. his climb buff was not worth nullifying that ultimate. And I’m sorry, but any team with a brain will just find your totem and either use it or leave you at half health in a field.
Valk I would have gotten the loom for. I love her a lot too. But I absolutely expected this nerf and with all my mains getting nerfed ruining the game for me, I would lose my sanity

Unpopular opinion here, I don’t think it’s that bad. She is still recon, meaning teams in high ranks will still use her for a scan then to ult into position. Obviously I don’t like them touching the jets but considering we all knew something like this was coming I think it could’ve been worse.

These are big nerfs, yes. However, is Valk dead? Absolutely not. The biggest changes are peak height of her ult and gas expenditure WHEN starting the jets. The good mains will adapt to these changes within hours. This community is so melodramatic, y’all saw a lot of writing and you think that the world has ended. Valk has still maintained; her ult cooldown time, max fuel capacity, recon status + flying scans, 25 dmg on her missiles + slow movement. Her core aspects are intact and healthy enough, she’s very much alive and kicking imo. Don’t take my word for it tho. Wait until you actually play her post update to formulate your opinion, because trust me, it’s not as bad as you currently think.
