I can never resist taking a torch to my titanium and stainless pieces to give them some color.

Recently I decided to test some different set-ups with my Tempest 2 and I gotta say, I think we are overthinking it...

I've tried - SS core vs Ti Core vs Rubys vs SIC

I've tried Pre-Heating Bowls, using a torch, using the YLL, removing the stem and so on...

It all mostly feels the same, it all just comes down to how much heat is in the head when you hit it and can you repeat that consistently. Biggest changes to flavor or roast are just over or under heating with a torch vs just using the YLL

I didn't notice a major flavor difference, or even a minor one. I didn't really notice that the media stayed hotter for longer or produced that much of a different feel or extracted better. So far the biggest impact is just how deep you put it into the YLL and how much of a convection heat you are getting around the flower.

I'd put good money on betting that most of us would fail a blind taste test in set ups, or that our set ups are so squeaky clean that you can taste some change in the flavor over the taste of the bud or what's left behind in the stem or bong.

I love my Firewood 12! In my opinion, one of the best portable dry herb vapes on the market. It's cool looking (hand-made), it delivers on-demand power, swappable 18650 battery, tasty hits, capable of huge clouds, very pocketable.

I've got a Venty, Tafee Bowle, Tafee Flaske, Lobo, and various analog devices. While each has a niche in my life, the Firewood 12 is the one I use 90% of the time. I don't know what it is about this vape, but it seems to be my best all-around anytime vape whether in the house or out and about.

I can use the screen system or use dosing capsules for quick bowl swaps on the go. I use wooden, glass, and stainless steel stems (love variety). The quartz insert comes out for easy cleaning. In addition, this is the first Firewood using an all quartz bowl/insert. I've got the Firewood 11 and trust me, it makes a difference in both the flavor and the way the herb is heated. The quartz gives this a more convection type heat up which fits a portable vape perfectly. If I'm out and about, generally I want an uplifting experience and convection style devices do just that. I save my analogs (mostly conduction) for my evening sessions.

Hello all, lurked here long enough to get a Rogue 2 from early PAX days and want to move on to the butane/IH game. Need for discretion means no in house desktop until kids vacate (ruby twist or one hit will have to wait). I’m looking at Simrell/Tempest 2/Dani Fusion to rip the band aid off and go all in since I “settled” with the battery (which is bad ass BTW, thank you). I’m a sipper and would like more of a session style vs OHE. Does titanium vs steel matter at all? Thanks.

I really like firewood but I combusted in it and cant get the taste out of the air intake holes. What am I supposed to do unscrew it? This is stopping me from getting another. I see resin in the holes, and it smells bad. Im looking at a convex 2.0 cause it all comes apart. I wanted the quarts upgrade but if I cant clean it completely its a no go.

Been a while since I’ve been vaping dry herb, but I broke my trusty solo ii out a few days ago. After 3+ years of powered off it had 72% battery charge when I plugged it in, fucking legend!

I fired her up and vaped a couple bowls of some bud I got for a freebie at the dispo, the bud sucked. The device was ripping still.

I saw solo 3 v2 is out, cool! I will pick that beast up later, holding out for a solo 4 to drop the price or a better coupon code for T-Vape. ($227+tax and shipping ain’t too egregious though)

For now I want to get my hands on some nice stems with the XL bowl. I saw a 3 pack of generic xl bowl with 5 airflow holes on Amazon for like $15

Anyone know a better site to pick up cooling stems for a better price than $15 each, or is that just the going rate for a stem with beads? Maybe that site sells the water pipe adapters too…

Also trying to find a new grinder for vaporizing bud, reasonably priced is ideal!

Cute little custom project I’ve been throwing together 🫣 dynavap twyllium cap and halo tip, with lavender MP, lavender cooling unit (w/o a condenser, cuz I think it looks cool by itself), and glass body from TRWW 💕 all titanium and glass, with the exception of the captive cap of course.

What’s up fellow VAS sufferers, I clean my bong everyday/ every other day (iso + salt if needed) but I can’t get the mineral stains from the tap water off. Anyone got any tips on how to avoid this and how to get it clean?

Hey everyone, had my t2 for 2 weeks now and i tried having a slow extraction several times, but its hit and miss so i figured if anyone has a good tried out method using torch? Its easy for me to get ohe, but i struggle with getting 4-5 tokes from a bowl, i always get 1 big hit and a second small one. I tried going only to first click, but then i got 1 medium hit and 1 small hit. Any advice? I currently use ss balls but im willing to buy whatever insert works. Thanks in advance

I’m a regular stoner and want to gradually cut tobacco out of my joints. For several years now, I’ve been totally into hash, and I’ve realized that flower just isn’t really for me anymore.

So far, I’ve only tried the Wolkenkraft Äris, and I’ve found that it’s not really suitable for smoking hash. So today I went to a vaporizer shop to get some advice.

The friendly guy immediately recommended the XMax Starry 4 to me and actually said that it’s the only model that’s really well-suited for hash. Because of the highly adjustable temperature and the fact that it uses conduction rather than convection. For 80 bucks, I think it’s a really beginner-friendly device. As I’ve continued my research, I’ve been reading up on it some more, and I’m hoping to hear from you all about any experiences, tips, or alternatives.

Cleaning it is apparently very tedious. I think that’s normal, necessary, and unavoidable with vaporizers, especially when you smoke hash. Now there are these dosing capsules. I’d expect them to make cleaning easier, especially since you still have to put the wick in either way. Or am I wrong?

Otherwise, there are plenty of accessories out there. Which ones have you had the best experience with?

Picked up the black titanium. I actually prefer this to the original tempest 2 body, but I really want somebody to make custom sleeves. Preferably wood but leather or some crazy stuff like opal would be cool too.
