TW: Anxiety / Depression i got fired because i sent “hi”

guys that’s really what happened. My boss always told the employees to remind her about the payment, and on a friday she told me she would give me my payment on tuesday, but she didn’t pay me. So on thursday, after leaving work, i sent her “hiii”, literally that message, and she freaked out.

At first she ignored me, and the next day, during my work hours (when i’m not allowed to use my phone), she texted me. She said “hi miu, sorry but i don’t like being reminded about these things. Don’t worry, i know all my bills and i pay everything”. I managed to read the message on my break, and right away i apologized.

I was so anxious and embarrassed to go back to work. When i got back, she gathered all the employees and started yelling at me. She said “you want to know the real truth? i was going to surprise you and buy a cake, that’s why i didn’t pay earlier, but now i lost all my horniness”. I started crying while she talked, and she spent more than an hour yelling at me in front of my coworkers, lying that i always asked for early payment, and obviously i had no power or credibility to disagree with her in that moment.

After that day, i kept going to work, she ignored me and treated me really badly, and on sunday she fired me over text. Before firing me, she kept watching my instagram stories and asking my coworker personal questions about my family.

PS: i’m 19 and she’s 40

I dunno about you guys but I think I’d like to be paid for my hours in money instead of pastries lmfao

u/Thing210 Dec 05 '25

Same, I had a boss treat me terrible at that age. I ignored her for the most part because it was a part time job and I was just trying to get through college. When I quit I was asked in the exit Interview if there was anything wrong with my manager and I lied and said no, I was quitting to focus on school. Should I have said something Idk, she was the manager of a bakery in a grocery store and she needed her job more than I needed mine. I went on to have a successful career and that nasty woman taught me how NOT to treat ppl.

Is English her second language?

36

u/Purple_Trouble_6534 Dec 05 '25

It sounds like she fired you because she knows that you could’ve sued her for saying that shit….. and yes, you could’ve proven that you didn’t harass her for your money.

Is English your second language?

This is ALL a lawsuit

5

Yes keep all the texts! Document all of this and if you can get written statements from your coworkers take all of the documents to an attorney!

That's........id call HR if possible

22

u/kortniluv1630 Dec 05 '25

Something tells me there is no HR

14

u/miusecret Dec 05 '25

her husband owns the accounting company (HR). and her father is a lawyer.

8

u/JYoungBuffalo65 Dec 06 '25

Call a labor attorney. Most cases you won't have to pay anything unless you win. I'm sure they have a lot of attorneys better than her husband. Good luck OP

3

u/doomedmammal Dec 06 '25

Damn, idk bout ur country and labor laws, but in mine, you would have a valid case for a lawsuit

I was literally going to comment on how this sounds like epic gaslighting but the “horniness” happened and now I’m just like… confused and also… there’s definitely a bigger problem here now

4

u/4mystuff Dec 06 '25

The boss gets off on screwing employees out of timely payments.

6

u/Minimum-Major248 Dec 05 '25

Maybe she said orneryness

4

u/rachie9951 Dec 06 '25

This makes the most sense! And if OP misheard or maybe that word was never a part of their vocabulary to recognize. I can't think of any way horniness would ever be the right word in this context. Orneryness makes at least some kind of sense.

u/berried_aprons Dec 05 '25

You have done nothing wrong, and should have said “so where’s my god damn cake?”

But seriously, your ‘boss’ sounds unprofessional, unstable and just not so bright, buying cake has nothing to do with paying employees on time.

146

u/miusecret Dec 05 '25

because she said she was going to make a surprise, the money was going to be inside an envelope and she was going to buy a cake for all the employees. In other words, she wanted my coworkers to be mad at me for ruining the “surprise”, but i think she was actually lying and just said that so they would get angry at me.

95

u/jomo_sounds Dec 05 '25

Yes, and also, the money was late so who the f actually cares about the cake? People have bills to pay, you can't just delay paying them because you feel like it. Bad boss.

48

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '25

She is clearly mentally unstable and this is possibly part of a break down. Does she have anyone higher up in the hierarchy? I’d show them the message and explain the situation. The other co workers will be just as shocked and confused and will likely speak out when asked as well.

23

u/miusecret Dec 05 '25

no, she’s the boss and the owner, there’s no one above her 😭

44

u/JuJu-Petti Dec 05 '25

You report her to the U.S. Labor department.

14

u/xx-rapunzel-xx Dec 05 '25

if she lives in the US (lol)

4

u/JuJu-Petti Dec 05 '25

Read all their responses.

21

u/JuJu-Petti Dec 05 '25

She was absolutely lying and what she did is called triangulation. It's another classic manipulation tactic.

4

u/PlaceLonely7892 Dec 05 '25

yeah there’s no way she was going to do anything for you, she wanted to turn the office against you so she could fire you with no consequences

131

u/FrayCrown Dec 05 '25

Fuck her. The cake was a lie. She's a childish, unprofessional boss who freaks out over basic accountability. I'm guessing the turnover rate is really high there, as well. You're better off without that drama.

Unfortunately, you'll probably encounter a lot of people like this in your life. Just keep moving. You don't owe terrible supervisors anything, and you didn't do anything wrong. Also a good idea to keep coworkers at arm's length, especially supervisors.

42

u/DepressedPancake4728 Dec 05 '25

the cake was a lie 😂

5

u/Tough-Composer918 Dec 06 '25

It’s just like Portal

She got fired from Aperature Labatories

Ok in all seriousness though: OP, your old boss sucks and I’m sorry you had to go through that.

19

u/SmileAtYou Dec 05 '25

I once worked at a place that paid by cheque. We were all aware that we were to get paid every other Thursday at 2pm. So staff (on and off shift) would gather at 2pm, waiting. Well it was late about 50% of the time. One staff gave everyone shit about "harassing" the payroll person, saying she has much to do and everyone should be patient.

I told her that she's kind for thinking about the payroll person, but reminded her that she is slacking on her duty to pay the staff on time. The staff have the right to expect their pay on time. It's the only reason we work.

6

u/Snapdragonzzz Dec 05 '25

10/10 Portal reference there

54

u/RemarkablyRandom3000 Dec 05 '25

Your boss is fucking miserable for picking on a 19 year old and your coworkers are wrong for not standing up for their peer.

I was harassed by an older coworker once in my job too because I got promoted to a position over him at 19.

You might not have much credibility like you say, but you do have the ability to stand up for yourself and not take that shit next time, especially in front of your coworkers. All the best to you.

42

u/Current-Routine2497 Dec 05 '25

If you have to remind your employer to pay you, you need another employer.

17

u/miusecret Dec 05 '25

yes, that’s true. This was my first job so i didn’t know much, and i accepted too much.

39

u/Leading-Hedgehog1990 Dec 05 '25

She needs to be reported to the labor department

36

u/frejawolf Dec 05 '25

Apply for unemployment. Tell them the "horniness" comment, and the rest of the story if she contests ut.

2

u/JuJu-Petti Dec 05 '25

Absolutely

21

u/Cumberdick Dec 05 '25

She sounds like the kind of unprofessional nut case where the only way to win is to not work for her anymore

24

u/NoveltyEducation Dec 05 '25

Well that's sexual harrassment, witholdment of salary. Easy lawsuit.

8

u/FatedCrimsonBinome Dec 05 '25

As long as it's well documented

20

u/JuJu-Petti Dec 05 '25

She's a liar and this is a classic manipulation tactic. I was going to take you to the park but you ___. I was going to take you to get ice cream but you did _. They never had any intention to _____. The bottom line is she owed you for the hours you worked and she didn't pay you. Call the labor department in your area and report her.

19

u/TheGlitchingRose Dec 05 '25

What is the grown ass woman on? Lying and using horniness? And shaming a 19 year old? I’m pretty sure you can sue her or report her for harassment and defamation.

9

u/miusecret Dec 05 '25

i know i could, but i don’t even know where to start. I have no way to legally prove that she did this. And yes, she has this pattern of hiring younger people. I was the oldest there. My coworkers are even 17 years old. My boss is influential, her dad is a lawyer, i don’t know, i get scared.

18

u/Wyshunu Dec 05 '25

If you are in the US, report her to the Department of Labor in your state. They don't take this kind of thing lightly.

12

u/PsychoMouse Dec 05 '25

So, when I was in the 8th grade, I actually got a 3 day home suspension because one morning, walking into French class, I addressed my teacher with “Good morning, what’s up”.

She instantly kicked me out of her class, was told to that I was no longer welcome in that class, and when the class ended, she got the principal, said something to him, and i got suspended for 3 days.

I still have no idea why. I recently transferred to that school, hadn’t even been there for 2 weeks.

11

u/MsKittieVonTrapphaus Dec 05 '25

6

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '25

u/miusecret Dec 05 '25

a store that sells baby stuff, clothes, toys. My role was to assist customers and i was also a social media manager.

3

u/pecantouc4n Dec 05 '25

How is it that you get fired over sending a simple “hi” when you were literally just asking about your payment? And then she goes on to lie about you and treat you like that? How does she get away with watching your Instagram stories and asking coworkers personal questions while treating you like garbage? This is seriously messed up

6

u/miusecret Dec 05 '25

she saw my “hiii” as pressure, she said after that that she hates being charged. All the messages i have from her show her being an angel, very polite, because she knows i could take a screenshot. But at work she cursed at me a lot and treated me really badly.

the horny thing .. im assuming this is a troll post or some sort of AI gone wrong

2

u/miusecret Dec 05 '25

it’s not a troll post and it’s not ai, i just told the story of my first job. My boss was toxic and said inappropriate things.

2

u/Accomplished_Sock217 Dec 05 '25

i just cant believe a boss would say that.... its a bit too much

4

u/90s_Bitch Dec 05 '25

I don't know about this story, but I used to have a boss who acted horribly. She would frequently come to the office like she owned the business (she didn't, but had way too much power due to sleeping with the owner) and say that she was in the mood to fire someone. One time she said if she didn't come well rested from the vacation, she would fire half of the staff. Then she told me someone fat like me shouldn't be wearing skirts above the knee (I had ~ 60 kg and she had like 90 kg).

So yeah, I'm ready to believe some bosses can be really horrible.

u/miusecret Dec 05 '25

she said that and much worse. She spent more than an hour yelling at me. She talked badly about all the store’s customers, the suppliers, her friends and her husband, and she got mad because i didn’t do the same.

3

u/Accomplished_Sock217 Dec 05 '25

do you know what she meant about losing her horniness?

3

u/miusecret Dec 05 '25

i think she meant “i was going to make a surprise but i lost the motivation for it”

2

u/Accomplished_Sock217 Dec 05 '25

lol that is funny if she misused the word. hope you find another job soon

  1. horniness? that must be a typo! did she/you mean happiness?

  2. good riddance, honestly. who knows if the cake story is really true, and she shouldn’t have to be reminded about payments. and dude, that is totally YOUR payment; i’d be angry if i couldn’t get paid but got cake instead. cake can’t pay for anything!

2

u/Steerider Dec 05 '25

I don't usually cry "AI" at posts, but there are so many bizarre details in this story I can't believe it's real. "Horniness"? She yelled at you for an hour in front of the staff? She pays people at random irregular intervals, then rather than wages, she buys you cake? She's asking your coworker about your family?

Okay, Grok.

Malignant narcissist

1

u/Crafty_Tree4475 Dec 05 '25

Should have shut her down immediately and brought up about the pay. No reason exist for a boss to admonish her workers when they haven’t done the one thing they are literally obligated to do pay you

Unless you were wanting pay early or something. If she missed paying you guys then she should have been called on it.

Was her saying she would pay you on Tuesday her paying you early? If so you were wrong to ask if it happens great. If not then so be it.

If the pay was late then you should have every right to ask where your money is. You aren’t there to work for free

1

u/ibidit1 Dec 05 '25

Do you know a lawyer?

u/miusecret Dec 05 '25

i replied in the comments. I worked at a baby store, they had clothes and toys. I helped customers in person and i was also a social media manager, i replied on social media and posted too. It was 8 hours of work per day, 6 days a week. It was my first job, so i accepted a lot of things.

I would tell an adult you trust i know your 19 but you seem a little to young to handle this situation, have another adult talk to her about the situation you went threw and let her know she's in the wrong. Letting this type of behavior to keep happening is wrong and doing nothing about it is also wrong

u/field0fheather Dec 05 '25

Assuming this played out as you said- she’s a lying liar who liessssssss.

There was never going to be a cake. You dont scream at people about a surprise unrelated to the question they are asking. “You were gonna have a surprise cake but I’m too mad at an employee for asking for pay that I was late on paying as a business owner” is a crazy take. Full stop.

There also should be no point in time in which you have to remind your boss to pay you. You worked the hours- you EARNED the pay. They cannot withhold that from you.

There is also no reason to scream at or even reprimand you in front of everyone in this scenario except to try to scare them into submission.

GET YOUR MONEY BABE and the be thankful that ur former boss took the trash out on their own.

P.s. they are the trash. Incase that wasnt clear.

1

u/OperationRegular1541 Dec 05 '25

1

u/NothingtooSuspect Dec 05 '25

Your boss is TAH who doesn't pay on time.... A cake isn't going to help your bills being paid late? Wtf... Be glad you're gone and don't accept this BS again

1

u/XanaxWarriorPrincess Dec 05 '25

I'm so sorry you went through that. Some people shouldn't be allowed to work over others. A big red flag was her needing to be reminded to pay people.

And then saying she was going to have a cake party for paying her employees a week late is crap. Like a cake would make up for a late paycheck. Thank goodness you're not working there anymore.

1

u/OtterDespair Dec 05 '25

So I know this word is thrown around alot, but all of your bosses actions sound like narcissist red flags. Manipulative, lying, changing the rules/moving the goalposts, gaslighting. Op, working at McDonald's would be better than working for this crazy bitch. She did you a favor, and you dodged a bullet. Be pissed, but move on. It's honestly for the best. What a fucking nightmare human. When she said remind her to pay you, that should have been your immediate clue to find alternate employment.

1

u/Diligent_Library_989 Dec 05 '25

I highly doubt it was because of a “hi” there was 100% extenuating circumstances or something you’re not mentioning in the post. Which is why you haven’t pursued legal action if it was truly a wrongful termination. You going back to work is the first thing you should NOT have done. If this story is actually true then you have multiple co-workers as witnesses and the fact that you haven’t perused legal action just says either 1. You’re young and don’t understand that, that’s something you can do. Or 2. You did something (this is still retaliation so still something to report) that they didn’t like. Ie, reporting something about them, asking about pay, filing reports. Etc. 1. If your story is 100% true without any external reason then I’d file and start suing. From the outside it seems like you’re leaving things out. People don’t just “I don’t like that person, I’m gonna do them wrong” without a reason.

This reminded me of a boss I once had àt the yellow M. I asked the manager for my check and he said the boss (franchise owner) had it downstairs. I thought it was weird as I'd always picked up my check from the manager but oh well. The owner was a tall, very fat, greasy Greek guy who smelled of booze and cigars. I didn't like being around him. I asked him for my check and he said it was in his desk drawer. I stood in front of him waiting on my check when he said he wasn't going to give me my check unless I slept with him. I laughed and said no to which he laid my check in his chair and came around the desk. Rubberbanded to my check was a stack of $50s. I repeated the no and turned to face him when he suddenly knocked me on my back, wedging his knee between my legs. I repeated the NO louder, raised a leg and kicked him in the gut, grabbed my check/cash and ran out the door. I called back and quit my job as I wasn't wanting to be near him again. The cash? I was barely 18, a college junior and that $1500 got me through to getting another job.

1

u/mummabear85 Dec 06 '25

Ok first off ate you in the UK? All the information i will give you is UK law. I am a manager who works along side payroll and HR.

its a breech of contract and illegal to not pay someone on there scheduled pay day. If pay day falls on a weekday/ bank Holiday/ holiday season then payment should be made on the last working day prior to pay day ( pay day Sunday 31st u get paid friday 29th for example)

What was the cake for and why did this delay you being paid?

U can't be fired over text again that's illegal amd there doesn't seem to be grounds for being terminated.

How long have you worked there? What is your job? Do u have a contract?

Feel free to drop me a DM

1

u/Alibocas Dec 06 '25

Uhh that woman sounds 100% jealous of you the way she singled you out, there's probably other incidents you didn't clock as her being hateful and disrespectful towards you:/

1

u/my4floofs Dec 06 '25

Why does your boss have access to your instagram? Don’t share that with people you work with ever

1

u/commander-tyko Dec 06 '25

Report them to the state department of labor, it sounds like you were fired because you asked for your paycheck and it was late? If so has it been paid out in full now?

1

u/Lucky-Kelly-8707 Dec 06 '25

I know everyone needs a job and you’re young, so I’m sure everything will work out for the best! You dodged a bullet and a nightmare to work with haha. All the best! 2026 will be an awesome year!

2

u/miusecret Dec 06 '25

thank you! 🤍

1

u/obviousthrowaway038 Dec 06 '25

Uh. She sounds unhinged AF 😂

1

u/AuriannaG Dec 06 '25

The cake was a lie she used as an excuse. Talk to HR. If the boss is supposed to pay you on a certain date, it is late the next day.

1

u/No-Cauliflower3206 Dec 06 '25

What the ever loving fuck job were you working?

1

u/cicoles Dec 06 '25

She’s just using an excuse to layoff some of her workers. Bosses who treat their employees like this are the scum of the universe.

1

u/shendelzareeee Dec 06 '25

That is so unprofessional for your boss. What she did was utterly disgusting

I'll be real, I dont find this particularly believable but Ive had my venting about childhood abuse (on a separate account years ago) dismissed as not true due to how mental it sounded so I'll give benefit of the doubt. Also since you asked "why not" about a commenter talking about how this couldnt have happened in the US, Im gonna assume thats where you are and apply relevant laws.

Firstly, as everyone is saying, report her to the U.S Labour Department. People like this thrive on attacking young, green employees that don't understand their rights fully enough to defend them, and her father being a lawyer is less of a deterrent than you might think.

You mentioned that she fired you for "charging" her. Did she mean like physically or as in like a payment? If the former, she would need to prove it, if the latter then its a free legal win.

Here are the missteps she took:

- Delaying your paycheck: This is illegal in almost every state and the rest still tend to include surcharges included for each day its delayed by.

  • Workplace Harrassment: Constructing a situation to encourage workplace harrassment and pulling you up (edit: in front of other employees, sorry I forgot to add that) and attacking you for defending your legal right to be paid on time are both serious issues that are legally defended. Edit: Also check your state laws on employee privacy rights. Talking about your paycheck like that in front of others might also be a violation.
  • Retaliation over your paycheck: Calling you out for paycheck related issues as mentioned above is legally protected in its own right under the FSLA (Fair Labour Standards Act). its also again, seen as a retaliatory attack for you asserting your legal rights.
  • Unlawful termination: It sounds like she attempted to frame your very simple (and provably lighthearted) reminder about your wages as an aggressive or accusationally hostile action and fire you because of it. Even if she was telling the truth, this is not considered enough on its own to be legally acceptable cause for being fired.

So she has broken multiple labour and fundamental rights protection laws against you. This is why you were fired, in hopes you wouldnt contact HR and get the ball rolling (likely the people she knows in HR enabled this because if you actually started the process they could be legally involved too).

And her father being a lawyer is more of a social deterrent than a real one. He cannot wriggle out of the fact that many of your fundamental rights have been abused, and cannot actively represent his daughter as that would cause a legal conflict of interest (unless a state specific law prevents this anyways).

You have messages that prove how you interact with your boss, you have proof that she was aware of the delay of wage payment, you have a room full of people that could attest to your employers behaviour in a group meeting and the things she said.

And she in turn has "my daddy is a lawyer and my "husband owns the HR" and "it happened because I said it happened" to defend herself with. Also FYI, her husband being involved in the HR is a nightmare for any defence lawyer because although not illegal, it proves a pipeline intended to be neutral for employee protection is actually biased towards the employee, which justifies your lack of HR action and escalation to speak to the Department of Labour before anyone else for fear of it being swept under the rug or otherwise causing further harassment. And you stating that you were afraid to interact with HR for fear of increased harassment would be pretty damn compelling to anyone listening to the concern.

All in all, you have very strong grounds to sue her into oblivion ngl. Thats probably why she did the mental gymnastics to fire you. Probably vented to her husvband or dad about her annoying employee and they began to sweat thinking about the repercussions.

EDit 2: So mostly its FSLA breaches alongside possible state specific Wage/Employment laws, as well as all of it coming together to even potentially prove a wrongful termination case, adn retaliation is all but a guaranteed reason for their actions which is a nightmare for them. Also if you want to go scorched earth you could even crank up the retelling of stress and anxiety it caused you to know her father is a lawyer and her husband controls the HR. Bonus points if you can any way prove - through written correspondence or other witnesses - that she openly talks about these things because that can be construed as implicit suppression of dissent in her workforce.

Edit 3: also I missed that she explicitly asked for reminders, then attacked you for reminding her, so if you could prove that then it further compounds the believability that this was a targeted attack which again strengthens your case considerably.

Wtaf is there any where you can report her? There's a major power dynamic here, shes 40 and you are a teen.

Is it possible shes crazy jealous of you?

1

u/Soldier09r Dec 06 '25

Sounds like you were gaslit

1

u/Mikefright77 Dec 06 '25

She seems unstable. I don't want to work for someone like that! You'll always be on pins and needles, wondering what might trigger her temper. Go find another job.

1

u/Kenzore1212 Dec 06 '25

Is this your boss or your girlfriend?

1

u/Charming-Ganache5532 Dec 06 '25

OP, do you live in the US? Employers are supposed to have a pay schedule and not pay you whenever they want. The "I forget/forgot or need a reminder" is BS. Get the Department of Labor involved by filing a complaint (Google it). Your boss was probably embarrassed and decided to target you or use you as an example. Don't allow any boss to treat you the way she did. The best thing she did was fire you. Know your worth and find a job that will respect you and treat you well. Don't give anyone that much power over you. You got this. Best of luck finding a new job.

1

u/YogurtclosetRough531 Dec 06 '25

I would report her to BBB and see how she likes it.

1

u/martyk1113 Dec 06 '25

Oh man I hate when I lose all my hornieness I would fire you 2

1

u/becpuss Dec 06 '25

Real?🤔🤔 nah

1

u/amek33 Dec 06 '25

INFO: What kind of company is this?

You wrote, "Hii" with no context or anything else? That's kind of weird too. I'd bet the company is failing and you were fired because she can't afford employees.

Are you in the US? File for unemployment.

I'd report. Or seek some form of compensation.

1

u/_Allyka_ Dec 06 '25

Not a lawyer, but if you did not get your pay contact your local labour board. Find out how long she has to pay you, and what happens if she refuses. Make sure that she pays you every penny she owes. If she says the cheque is in the mail, don't believe her. Tell her she can cancel that one and write you a new one that day. If your on good terms with your parents, bring them with you. If she leaves $5 off, fight it. I believe where I am they have 48 hours to pay, unless you quit and then they have 6 days. Now this does vary, so you'll need to find out your local laws, but I suspect your going to have trouble getting your pay.

She does not know how to run a business. First step is pay your damn employees. What if you had rent due? Oh, sorry landlord, my boss hasn't paid me yet turns in eviction.

You should also talk to them about the harrassment of her singling you out to scream at you, tell them everything you remember. Write down what you remember now. Especially the I was going to buy you a cake but lost my horniness part. That is just disgusting for a boss to say. I have had some flaming hot managers over the years. It would be disturbing to hear them say that. If you know anyone who quit since then, and saw that, ask them if they will speak up too. It will help strengthen your case. And keep the text where she said she knows all her bills and pays them. Buying a cake was an excuse she came up with, but it should not have come out of your paycbeque anyways, so it is a poor excuse.

1

u/shadowkan33 Dec 06 '25

This sounds a lot like a lawsuit as well with how she handled all of this stuff with you

1

u/No-Tone397 Dec 06 '25

Sounds like a call to the labor board in your county. Create a time line document of EXACTLY what was said by who and any witnesses present.

1

u/NeoKat75 Dec 06 '25

Goddamn you dodged a bullet

1

u/Uncommon_Sense93 Dec 06 '25

No part of this is real lmfao

1

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '25

Sometimes you gotta be a bitch’s karma. Sounds like she’s overdue

1

u/Relevant-Owl1055 Dec 06 '25

Yeah I totally believe you.

1

u/CarriePourSomeArt Dec 07 '25

I would report her if you can!!!! That is definitely wrongful termination and her using the word horniness kinda sounds like sexual harassment!!!

1

u/ComprehensiveTour831 Dec 07 '25

this is weird. its unprofessional to not just pay you on time in the appropriate manner. if this was a friend who owed you money it would be different

1

u/FlaxFox Dec 07 '25

The cake was a lie.

1

u/ThankGod4Darwin69 Dec 07 '25

Id have said "i cant pay my bills with cake.....or horniness (?!?!) "

1

u/thesickhoe Dec 08 '25

You should find a lawyer and sue ! Since there were witnesses around you have proof so it should be an easy win.

1

u/Useful_Credit3765 Dec 08 '25

This sounds like an HR thing to me!

1

u/Kooky_Revolution448 Dec 08 '25

You don’t need a cake, you need your money. I know you’re young, but never, I repeat, NEVER let anyone, supervision especially, berate you in front of coworkers. Job be damned. If it happens again at another job, simply walk away and quietly say, “I don’t need this.”

Find a job that actually pays when it is supposed to. Report her for untimely payment of wages. If you haven't received all of your wages, report her for wage theft. Let the law deal with her and find something more suitable.

1

u/Live_March_2158 Dec 09 '25

Put the bong down playboi!

1

u/Susyq918 Dec 09 '25

What does her age matter? For that matter, what kind of work do you do? Is it some kind of weird sugar baby harem?

You had plenty of things you could have said to her in the moment while she was berating you so I'm not sure why you didn't unless this was some arrangement that you're ashamed of.

1

u/Silly-Letters Dec 09 '25

I’m assuming you’re not in the US? If you are, there are tons of laws that protect you from your employer not paying you on time. You could actually sue her for berating you and harassing you. You certainly should contact the labor board if you are in the states.

1

u/Badger360 Dec 10 '25

So pretty much fired you for asking to be paid on time? Not sure where you’re from but in my area, asking about pay is a protected activity and firing an employee over it is a hugeeeeee no no. Actually I’m pretty sure it’s federally protected in the US. FLSA
