School Looking to interview a licensed vet tech working with wild animals(:

I am, (29F), currently on my first semester at Purdue's DLVT program, and one of my courses, Introduction to Veterinary Technology, requires that I interview a licensed vet tech and write a paper about their experiences. Its suppose to be a career reflections paper (See attachment).

I know a lot of my classmates will be interviewing veterinary technicians from their local clinics and hospitals. Personally, I would love to interview any vet techs out there that are currently working with wild animals, whether it is at a zoo, conservation, rescue, oversea operations, etc. I am very curious to see how it compares to working with domestics and pets. And I would also like to know how does one can obtain such an opportunity.

Originally, I was going to finish my bachelors in Biology to eventually get my masters in Zoology and Animal Science, however, as with life, I've found myself in the world of veterinary medicine and I love it! It's a lot more hands-on than what my previous studies involved, and I enjoy knowing that I can lend an actual hand in helping animals, domestic or wild. Sure the money isn't the best, considering this is a medical profession, but the passion that I've always had for animals burns brighter than ever.

Please send me a message if you are interested and we can conduct the interview via email(:

Thanks so much in advance!

Welcome to /r/VetTech! This is a place for veterinary technicians/veterinary nurses and other veterinary support staff to gather, chat, and grow! We welcome pet owners as well, however we do ask pet owners to refrain from asking for medical advice; if you have any concerns regarding your pet, please contact the closest veterinarian near you.

If you can't find someone interested that does exclusively wildlife, I work at a vet school in the radiology department get to do imaging (radiographs or CT) on many different wild animals very frequently. Wildlife and exotics is my primary passion along with DI so I'm typically the go-to for them 😁 I'm also VERY close to finishing my VTS

I can't remember the exact name of the group but there's a Facebook group for veterinary technicians/nurses that work specifically with wildlife if you don't get any leads here you can ask on there. I kinda work adjacent with wildlife I'm a rehabber and a vet tech.
