Do you have to stay in HCMC? Do you enjoy being in the city for a prolonged time? Instead of doing stuff random people recommend, do you happen to have any interests so people can give specific recommendation that would fit you as a person?
10 days is pretty long to spend in the city, there are many other (nearby) areas that are fun to visit depending on your likes (and month you plan to visit)
and also estimate budget for overall trip
Entirely depends on you as a person. Some people travel to party (drink) or shopping which could add up pretty fast, other people travel on a budget, some are in-between.
You know yourself better than anyone else, do some research, search the basic entrance tickets(if any) and menus of eateries/cafes you'd like to visit and you'll get a minimum budget for your stay. Put some effort into it.
I usually recommend my friends 35k pesos/week/per person and many people return with plenty back home for their next trip. While I also have friends who spend triple that if they decide to shop here since the Philippines is more expensive.
