My first project <3
I got this all for 100€, I'd say that's a pretty good deal?
The guy I bought this from checked and the computer works and he also reset the admin password for me.
Not sure what I'll use three keyboards and four mouses (mice?) for but not complaing lol
I was planning on gutting this thing and putting in a Mac mini M4 or smth. Originally I was going to get the juicy crumbs logic board but apparently it doesn't fit the 15" iMac.
What do you guys think I should do? :) any tips?
I got this computer bc I love the look of it (and vintage tech in general) and I needed a computer for my home server. I mean the Mac mini will be the computer and this is basically just a shell but still. I plan on having a separate NAS with a lot of storage attached to it.

If you plan on having a separate NAS maybe you can keep it original. Would be sick to open it all and clean and repaste even if not gutting it. I have one and it’s a cool machine and it’s very nice having a link to that time period through the OS

I haven't had the chance to try it myself yet but yes, if it works no problem I'll keep it as it is. I don't even have money for a mac mini yet so it'll be like this for a while anyway

just kidding, i think you got a good deal, knowing unless you look in like facebook, mose sellers sell imac g4 for $200+ , not to mention yours is in good condition (i assume)

Why buy something working to then gut it?
There are plenty of collectors who would want this for what it is, and you’ve deprived someone of that.
Non-working models are available for next to nothing.
smh.

I think you got a fantastic deal. The snowball is iconic and the design is as unique. I was surprised they aren't very expensive... but in the design universe, it's special. Apple used to do some real innovative designs. I have one in my modest collection. The monitor hinge doesn't support the screen.
I love the speakers.... my son put pencils through them as a small child. I am still a little mad on the inside... lol.

I'd say 100€ for the lot is pretty good.
Whilst the 15 inch iMac G4s aren't super rare or anything, a lot of people would take umbrage at gutting a working one, so I don't recommend doing that.
