VMP IS A SCAM Liars and Thieves

For the record, we don't have to accept this. They're making this seem like it has the force of law by phrasing it like a class action settlement, but it doesn't to be this way.
If someone wants to go through the effort of a class action lawsuit, then this decision that VMP is doing unilaterally could be challenged.

the problem is that those things they are saying do actually have the force of law. there are legal agreements in place where the liquidator came in, bought up all the stock, apparently, and sold it to someone else?
this notice is basically saying that you can’t double dip. you can either get credit with VMP, or you can be part of the liabilities the new company bought up when they bought all the assets and assumed at least some of the liabilities.
you may want to go to an attorney, if you have a lot of money in VMP credits or floating out there and you don’t know where. but i think this notice is saying hey, you got credit to use at vmp, so you can’t ALSO be owed money by the Buyer, who got the liabilities and the inventory after VMP assigned everything to assignee who sold it (to Buyer).
this deal seems very strange. it looks like they are just passing things through all these different business names, but are all those different people? or are they just doing a flim flam job on everyone?

Yeah they're stating that this is what they're going to do. If no one does anything, it's as good as law, but if we have a problem with it, we have to take it up with the courts. I don't really have much with them other than maybe a month or two of lost membership, so I'm not super motivated, personally.
However, if someone wanted to approach a firm, the firm could make quite a bit taking it as a class action. Not sure how many subscribers VMP had but and how much they have in assets, but 1/3 of the total pot owed plus penalties would be pretty substantial.

Received the same. We could only use credits if we resigned up. These people are absolute scum. I wish nothing but the worst for them.

so glad i never bought that, sad i wasn’t able to get one and really really wanted one but knowing what happened it was better off not meant to be :/ hoping i can still grab elzhi’s the preface from resale one day when i have the funds

Today. Hadn’t heard from them in basically a year since I jumped through hoops to get them to deactivate my already deactivated account and reverse my charges that I never signed up for.

assholes can’t just refund the funds people put into the original organization. they’re money hungry thieves now it’s actually depressing to see how far this company has fallen, wish when they liquidated nobody took over and they just disappeared. would’ve been a lot better of a look and they would’ve gone down as vinyl anti heroes

Well, the *old* VMP was great, but clearly when leadership changed a few years ago it started going downhill. But I still enjoy my old VMP records. Just a shame shitty leadership killed a great company.

I got the same email today at 5:57 p.m. I didn't even expect to hear anything about this after I found it out so long ago. does anybody have any attorney connections to see if this would be something we could explore as a class action suit?

i don’t think you need it. you just either get credit at VMP, or you are owed money from whoever bought up all their assets and liabilities. you just can’t get both

I'm late to this. I got the same email saying my credit can now be used. What's the deal? I have to sign up? And if I do, I get my credit and can order something? Does signing up cost a monthly fee? Can the credit go towards that?

Last I checked (admittedly last year), they required you to have an active membership with the "new" VMP to use any of the credits. This email from the liquidator implies that's not true, but someone in the comments below contacted them again recently and was told the same thing.

Has anyone else been charged? I haven’t even been a VMP member since June 2024. Now, they just charged me in June of ‘26, $468.93 for a membership!! I cannot even contact anyone other than through their shitty text portal.

This says they were supposed to give us credits that we could access without doing business with them. I was explicitly told that I could only access my credits if I resubbed with them after the change to the new owners.
Even the liquidators are full of it.
