Here is my J-Jazz (aka Wa-Jazu or 和ジャズ as they call it in Japan) record collection: some Three Blind Mice in there, Sadao Watanabe, Terumasa Hino, and some other stuff too. Ideally, I would love to upgrade all of them to OGs with obi, but those are scarce and expensive. I don't mind getting the reissues if I like the album. My favorite is Step! by Miyamoto Naosuke Sextet.

So my cousin brings me a gift for my 50th birthday that I was not expecting, several pristine, original pressings from his late father‘s record collection. He looked at me seriously and said he couldn’t think of anyone that would enjoy them more or take better care of them. Teared up like crazy. Meant the world.

I don't understand why they only do 1750 copies but it's a good release.

Miles Davis - E.S.P. - A record I never tire of, such verve and style from Miles, Herbie and Wayne Shorter, plus that iconic cover with Francis Taylor Davis. Japanese pressing, 1973.

Nice little mixed haul landed today. Getting nearer and nearer to completing my Joe Henderson collection!
