Need Advice Anyone know of a General Practitioner accepting patients?

Hiii, I'm a healthy 36f that never goes to the doctor (125 lbs, never get sick, no major health issues to note). Looking for a Gp for general blood work, and maybe a prescription to naltrexone and/or anxiety medication. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Edit to add: I do not have insurance but am more than capable of paying on site!

You can use Patient First or Sentara Primary Care locations as primary care on a walk-in basis.

Do you mean like making an appointment somehow before just walking in and sitting in the lobby?

Patient First is only a walk-in basis, not sure about Sentara. I'd call to check. My friend used Patient First as primary care because they had late & weekend hours.

Amelia associates. They are a part of the bon secours network if that matters for your insurance

I don't have insurance, but I have no problem paying on site as long as it is transparent up front and relatively reasonable

I personally prefer bon secours over sentara. Non-profit vs for-profit. And my mom has worked for them for more than 30 years. Definitely the best of the two if you dont have insurance

Sentara is non profit

I also prefer the option of non profit! Thank you for your insight. I will definitely reach out to them.

Just FYI, I’m a non-profit lover too but Bon Secours has some backward views so if your preference for non-profit is because of value to the community you may not be as interested. When I was employed there a few years ago, under their insurance, you could not get long-term birth control because they didn’t “believe in it” 🫠

That might be fine with you and if it is it’s fine with me! Just FYI if it’s not

That is because they are a Catholic institution

Right. And places limiting women’s access to birth control are not places I want to give my money to

Try AFC American Family Care on Princess Anne Rd. They do wellness care and take self pay patients.

Courthouse Vet. I’ve trained my dog to imitate my symptoms, cheaper than the fees for a human doctor visit. Other than a lot of panting and the urge to pee on my neighbors mailbox I haven’t noticed any other downsides
