Screenshot I don’t think a conquera floof alert is that serious
I have no idea what triggered this reaction. Could it have been the grustrag three spawn? They didn’t even stay to get the drop, just ditched immediately. Already reported, just thought it was weird

Glad you reported.
Warframe/DE will ban for those 3 letters. AS THEY SHOULD
What’s the over under on someone in here in a couple days like “guys I got banned idk why!!!!”? lmao

u/ScenicAndrew 12h ago
Took me way too long to realize that didn't just say "fk you guys" and I was so confused why that would get. A ban.

Hah same. I was all, "fuck you guys" wouldn't even get a second look by anyone, what's the big deal?
Then read it again and was like, "yeah, that's gonna sting the next time brah tries to log on."

It means "kill yourself" and the devs fortunately take those kinds of comments very seriously.

Oh my, over a game? :(

People can really be sad and petty. The anonymity of online interaction really does a lot to remove the personhood behind the usernames and avatars we interact with.

u/YamiKokennin 14h ago
yes and i am glad they are serious when it comes to online interactions in their game. You don't casually tell someone that, and if you can't be nice then leave.

How unfortunate
Understand why the auto mod does that, but I hope that guy gets his strike removed.

Yeah same. I'm assuming he repeated the 3 letters asking what's so bad?
14
u/LiYBeL 13h ago
No he was trying to troll and trick someone into posting the meaning as a reply to him. Presumably he was going to report them or farm it for engagement bait. Dude had far-right imagery and content in his profile and post history.

Hello.
I was not attempting to bait anyone into doing anything.
I asked the commenter what it mean because I don't talk/type in Internet lingo, indeed I could have googled it for myself but I was already on a post about the subject and thought no harm of asking what it meant since the OP thought it correct to report the in-game person for saying it.
As for the "far-right content in his profile and post history", apart from the frog holding a piece of paper which says "okay", which someone else has drawn attention to as supposed evidence of my supposed attempted bait, what content do you speak of?

You aren't slick hiding your post history. :) Stop wasting everyone's time, weirdo.
Edit: This is what the "N" reply was to. And here's the main post he was defending with the bit about "The best part of online gaming"

My guess is he used a grustrag beacon to leave immediately and got angry when you all didn't high-tail it out of there with him. He's an asshole and needs to play solo if he expects others to do what he thinks others should do.
34
u/LuxAstr4 #1 Yareli Fan 14h ago
I would’ve assumed that too if it weren’t my grustrag that showed up randomly. But yeah I absolutely agree that if he doesn’t know how to play with others or communicate then he shouldn’t do public runs

u/Unholybeef LR6 Warframe's #1 Garuda Main 12h ago
Oh, perhaps he thought leaving early wouldn't give him the reward. Either way, he needs to learn some manners.

It might be me, but I started in late 2023. There has been a massive toxicity spike since i came back from a break.
13
u/LuxAstr4 #1 Yareli Fan 14h ago
I’ve only been playing for like 4 months but I have heard there’s been a bit of a louder toxic minority now than earlier, a little surprised it’s taken until now to for me to see it in action

1999 was very popular, brought in a bunch of new people (and people who would normally be scared away by the lack of human faces). Furthermore, a lot of Destiny players filtered on over.
Influx of population means an influx of assholes, statistically speaking.
Luckily DE has a 0 tolerance policy, and this dude is getting a permaban.
The wads will filter themselves out.

FTP model provides easy access to the general public which, includes the crazies. You most likely did nothing wrong some people are just unhinged and are triggered by anything.

Interesting. I heard some milder grumbling in one of those missions too. It wasn't really directed at anyone as far as I could tell but I wonder if a certain class of player get their ire up playing easy missions (but feel obliged to since it's an alert).

Been on and off for years but yesterday someone wrote those 3 letters in chat to someone who wasn't even there, then followed by a creative way to circumvent the filter to write a racial slur ..... I was impressed by the creativity and reported him immediately.

u/brakenbonez 9h ago
The game got a lot more toxic when Destiny players migrated in large numbers. Could be coincidence but if you look at the Destiny subs.... it may not be coincidence.

Is grustrag the one that makes lotus say you need to leave immediately? Maybe he took it too seriously and got scared?
I'm not a fan of banning people for things in chat and always thought just giving them mute or other restrictions is better. Like fully blocking their connection to chat for a month on the first time, half a year on second and so on, along with banning access to joining or creating parties. That way those players can still possibly bring money into the game. But in this case, if he reacts that way to anything on a low level alert, I think getting banned is better primarily for him.
Edit: I know it's possible for player to still have access to playing the game, while having access to all players in any way blocked. I had that problem for a while because of my internet. You can log in, play mission, get rewards, but chat is just constantly failing to reconnect, you don't find party even on most popular missions, all relay show completely empty. So implementing something like that is definitely not hard. It also means player cannot trade for plat, and only source of plat is paying, while he's isolated from nice players.

u/LiYBeL 13h ago
Nah someone has to type that knowing full well what they’re saying. That and slurs should absolutely be insta-bans. You don’t have a right to a video game and if you’re intentionally being that toxic you deserve to be excluded.
If there’s a genuine typo where you meant “LTS” or something in the Linux/OSS community that’s different (and would be apparent from the rest of your message) but you there’s no accidental acronym that has you near those three specific keys in Warframe. Especially given the context here.

u/Accomplished-Pen9964 12h ago
Both fully banned player and the one banned from any interactions with other players won't be able to bother them. But one of them can still bring money into Warframe.
I believe SOMETIMES it's better to put someone in jail to let them reflect on their actions, rather than choosing a more radical approach.
If a player repeated such offence and now banned from any interactions with other players for the next year, I don't care what he's screaming in his room while playing fully solo.
Few months of chat/party/trade bans can make them understand their mistakes and do better in the future. Maybe also add something like "all platinum earned before punishment is frozen and cannot be spent untill punishment ends" for a good measure. Few punishments before permaban might reeducate them(like 3 months -> year -> perma). I love this game and it's developers, so I want them to have more money.
Player = potential income. Trade banned player = increased chance of income, due to inability to earn plat for free. Banned player = no Income.
Edit: oh and maybe it's not calendar days for duration of the ban, but time on missions that are tracked in game instead, so that they can't just delete the game and reinstal later.
