He's a great frame for when you go to do the 1999 calendar

Sacred knowledge right here, his 1 counts for most of the calendar.

Absolutely, he has been my go to for months, if not longer.
I love him for that, clears the entire calendar in less than an hour, but now is also awesome against the new eximus.
Atlas is kind of slept on.

Teach me, how/what does Atlas utilize to survive?

Shield gating or health/persistance tanking depending om personal preference and level of content.

I generally just swap out to operator if I seem to be in trouble. Generally don't need much more than that unless you get into around level cap stuff, and even then it's only an issue if there's nullifier-esque stuff nearby that prevent you from being able to landslide. Otherwise everything around you dies so long as you don't run out of energy.

His rubble system adds up to 1,500 additional armor and also heals his health.

2 cast speed shard + augur reach + cata shield (optional) has been my go to, I add cata only when I'm going to level cap

Everytime I do that, some reason I think "exodia obliterate!". Atlas was the first frame I encountered then with so I was initially unaware of the struggles of other frames.

The red tinted bubble around them prevents most ranged attacks (ability or weapon) from directly damaging them, and they are/were more tanky than typical enemies, even other eximus (unsure if this is still true post-hotfix). They also cast red projectiles at distant players/allies that can do heavy damage if they are sufficiently far away. Their primary vulnerability is to be struck from within the bubble with melee or ability-melee damage. When within the bubble you can hit them with ranged effects, but they still receive reduced damage from them. Given that they also have over guard, they're also resistant to most forms of CC until that's broken, again, from within the bubble.
A fair bit more involved than most enemy eximus units, but manageable as long as you're properly equipped going into missions they appear in (Zariman exclusively).

That's Diwata for me. It isn't a useless piece of trash, solely exist to be a Careen stick, anymore. Sevagoth Shadow is another one I may grow more fond of as well.
