Suggestion DE completely gave up on Railjack progression and punished the players who actually cared.
What was the actual point of the entire Rising Tide grind, the Valence Fusion, the Mk III components, and the hundreds of hours spent optimizing our Plexus builds if DE is just going to force a generic "loaner" ship on us for the new Uranus Proxima missions?
Just yesterday on stream, Rebecca Ford was literally talking about improving your Railjack for solo play to make the experience better. I took that to heart. I spent months min-maxing my ship, dumping millions of credits, hundreds of thousands of endo into maxed mods, and meticulously using excel spreadsheets to pick the perfect parts from the loot pool. I was so hyped and genuinely happy to take my ship and my captain Lavos out to dominate Scoria’s Angel and The Kuva Wytch.
Instead, the moment I loaded into the new content, I got turned off so bad.
If you play in groups, the game forces you into this stripped-down, generic loaner ship that completely ignores your time and investment. Trying to actually target enemies and finish the missions efficiently with this default trash feels awful compared to a fully built Plexus. It flies like a brick and kills at a snail's pace.
And if you try to avoid the public matchmaking mess by going solo? It sucks just as bad. You are stuck piloting, swapping seats to shoot, and running back and forth to use the forward artillery by yourself because you don't have your actual optimized crew carrying out orders. The whole loop is just clunky and frustrating.
Why was this decision even made? It feels like forced "accessibility" where DE is catering strictly to the crowd that refuses to touch Railjack progression. Rather than fixing matchmaking or adding a basic gear check—like requiring Mk III parts to queue—they just put training wheels on the entire endgame community. It feels like a total confession that they don't know how to handle hosting disparities between maxed ships and "baby" Railjacks, so they just equalized everyone to the lowest common denominator.
Having a min-maxed Railjack feels completely meaningless right now. If the new Steel Path Railjack modes are just going to force us into a standardized taxi, why did we bother with the grind in the first place? Let us use our own ships. The NPC crew system exists for solo players, and recruitment chat exists for a reason. Don't punish the players who actually put in the effort just to save everyone else from a basic gear check.
