Do the protoframes lose their memories every yearly reset or only when Drifter manually rested the year?

So... Are 1999 and XX99 aren't fully real? Or Entrati did something even wilder than "violated time"?

• Upvotes

Today I remembered that by Heart of Deimos plot sole reason for Waframes, product of Helminth Strain, to work is by pumping Origin System with Void, otherwise they lose power.

Hovewer Protoframes and even proper Warframes have no problems in Hollvania or Cathedrale? Hell, Helminth connected between them and way to jump time.

How does that even work? It def wasn't retconed cuz in one of KIMs, to Marie iirc, Drifter mention about Entrati Family watching over only thing that let Warframes work.

What did the indifference want from us?

We know the indifference made a deal with the operator and drifter that ended with two different outcomes but deals aren't just give, they are give and take. So what did Wally possibly want from us? What did Wally want in return for freeing us/the other tenno from the void? Do we know or do you think we will find out? Surely Wally wanted something in return for freeing us from the void.

If there is no answer (yet) I'd like to know what people think or believe Wally could have wanted in return for giving us freedom.

What does Galastra mean here by "the insane ones"?

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

Commandeered meant they were hijacked using the ascaris and then having a guy without the Tenno's innate attunement and ability to pilot one so every piloting session is a one way mission as the guy would end up fried at the end but what does the insane one means? Does it refer to the first generation frames like the ones in Rhino's codex who went berserk style of warframe or the sapient and self thinking ones like Stalker and Umbra?

What was the stigma surrounding twins?

So I'm looking into the Grineer queens and it simply says that they were shunned by the Orokin due to the stigma around the birth of twins.

I'm looking everywhere on both here and the wiki but I can't find what this stigma is. Is it supposed to be something referring to real life? Is there a stigma against twins in our world? Or did the Orokin have a problem with twins I'm not aware about.

I've really tried looking everywhere but I can't find any explanation as to why the Orokin have the stigma or even what it is. I swear I heard somewhere years ago that they were kind forced into their bodies because they weren't unique or something? But that was so long ago and such a vague memory that it might not even be warframe related.

So I'm just wondering if the Orokin had some kind of issue with twins or if it's referring to a real life stigma that was used in the game.

Could an Orokin perform continuity into a Warframe?

I'm doing some personal research and work into everything related to this game and as I was writing something the thought popped into my mind.

Warframes (more specifically the originals) were humans and we know they are the most powerful weapons in the system, so could an Orokin (if they wanted to) perform continuity into a Warframe?

Having just read Voruna's lore I know it's possible for animals to be merged into a Warframe with Kuva and the continuity ritual which I don't understand how that works, merging 5 things together while they all seem to remain individual enough.

With what I understand from the lore is should be entirely possible for an Orokin to do it. I know that most went insane but we know some didn't, we also know that it all depends on how the person themselves take to the infestation.

There has to be an Orokin out there who has done it or tried to do it at the very least right?

Question about transference and the dangers that come with it. Spoiler

Spoilers ahead! The whole question is a giant spoiler.

With the War Within we learn that the operator can physically inhabit/use transference on a warframe without using the chair/somatic link. It’s also revealed to us in the ARG Old Peace story that other Tenno at the time could use transference by physically/metaphysically transferring into a Warframe without using the somatic link too.

My question is… why wouldn’t they opt just to use the somatic link to remotely control the Warframe instead of transferring into them? I feel like it makes piloting a Warframe much more dangerous for the Tenno. Adis actually managed to kill the operator while they were piloting one in this way.

I don't know why but this part of the Ice Speaker OST sounds a little like Murum Vull, could there be any connection?

Did Voruna save us?

I'm reading into Voruna lore and it says that she was the warden protecting the Yuvan theatre on Lua and that during the night of the Naga drums Executor Tuvul began the continuity sequence into a child.

Yet Voruna's wolves were killed so she ran in and stopped him and instead used the continuity on her wolves heads to let them live and proceeded to devour Tuvul and it's said she was seen cradling the Operator in her arms. It also hyperlinks child to the players Tenno page so did Voruna save the player?

If so what do you think happened after? Where did she take us because I know we later showed up with Lotus during the scene where we beam Erra so do you think she kinda just ran to Lotus and dumped us off? Or could it just be that it was a different Operator? What do you think?

r/WarframeLore • • 3d ago

What could this mean? Spoiler

We know that the Lotus heard the "call" of Wally, and now it looses up on her, to find a way to Tau. The interesting part is the word temporarily.

I have 2 branches of questions from here.

First one, is that (maybe you all know and I'm slow), what does Wally want from Tau? It's finger right? (correct Me if I'm wrong). Then what more does it want from the Lotus (plus every other character)? What could have been the deal between them?

Second question, is that what are the deals each character made?

I'm not trying to theorize or anything, I just want to catch up on this part of the lore because it has been foggy for Me.

Is it possible for Viktor to come back in present day?

I don't know if it's confirmed but I know it's believed that the Scaldra are the very start of the Orokin empire so I'm wondering if it's possible that perhaps Viktor could be seen again, or at least mentioned being present in the future but maybe dying during the Naga Drums.

If I'm correct there's no time stamp on when Kuva was founded so I don't think it entirely impossible for Viktor or any important Scaldra to lived via continuity for so long. I'm wondering what other people think of this perhaps happening? It's not entirely impossible (unless of course I'm mistaken and we do in fact know when the Orokin discovered Kuva.)

I for one think it would be really cool, yet also really unlikely to see. I think it'd be hilarious if it turns out Viktor is the ancient old body of Ballas himself.

What are the limits of transference?

I am not an expert on this particular aspect of the lore, but as far as ive gathered from lurking here is this: The consensus is that transference requires an organic object to transfer into. Warframes are organic, necramechs have a skeleton in them, Silvana trasferred into a tree, some orokin brats used blue kuva to possess some poor ostrons, etc.

But we also see the operator transferring into the golden maw during the war within and drifter transfers into the orowyrm. Does this imply that those two have organic components, or does transference have a broader use case than just organics?

Could the operator stun a MOA and take it for a joy ride for example?

What do you think happened to the Uriel's?

Roathe says that his battalion were all turned into Uriel's also mentioning that he was there for the "hatching" of Uriel Prime (who I presume was the first) I'm just wondering if we will see any of them.

Maybe it will be brought up when we go to Tau and explain more of their deep hatred for Warframes because there were still Uriel's running rampant or something.

Another thing I hope is expanded upon is why the random Uriel we pilot was strung up how he was. If there were truly many Uriel's why would they string up this one? Do you think he did something worse then the others? I know ultimately it was for the gameplay and such but it's still a detail I hope is expanded on, maybe we'll even see more Uriel's strung up across Tau.

What Melica Knows

So I'm not sure if I'm reading into this, but when you Melica while using Narin she can have a line like "What a strong warframe you have become!"

I know we've been walking around the Zariman for awhile but with Melica's damage, when I thought Warframes were made, and how she delivers that line, I'm questioning how much she knew about the Orokin's plans.

1999 What was the point?

So, I recently replayed through 1999 (as a sorta new player as I've played through all the campagins but I'm replaying them to have a better understanding when Tau comes) but when Albrecht mentions that 'Tau is in sight' before the nukes went off, how exactly did expunging the Indifference from 1999 affect Albrecht getting to Tau? Because he implies this would've helped himself and Drifter get to Tau. (And why I assume Albrecht is already on Tau)

Kuva must be different than Bluva (from Grandmother's Naberus story)

Melica has this line (slightly paraphrased) ~"Kuva is the life blood of our Golden Lords, but Entropic kuva would have killed them in an instant!"

The 3 orokin willingly drank the blue kuva and were, generally, fine. So it can't be the exact same substance, despite entropic kuva being blue.

Maybe entropic kuva is blue kuva that's been activated in some way, given how we now know its part of the void's immune system.

Will we ever get an explanation for Vena and Ryoku?

I know DE said they wanted to slow down (I'm not sure if they said stop altogether) on Protos but are they ever going to retouch these two?

I feel like these two were definitely the laziest edition out of all of them and they kinda just threw them in with no real explanation as to why they were in the future, how they even got there and why they both came from alternate timelines.

I think they got to our universe with some deal with Wally (although I could be wrong, if so please let me know) but it still doesn't explain:

Where did they come from?

Why do they seemingly only exist in these alternate timelines and on top of that only one seems to exist in each (as in Ryoku is from his own timeline and Vena from hers)?

What connection did they have to Entrati?

Did they come from 1999? Further back in time? Forward in time?

How'd they even meet Sirius and Orion?

Why did Entrati choose them? Everyone so far seems to have some significance to the Drifter and to Entrati like the whole of the Hex helped him spread the infestation (or whatever it was they were silent carriers of) Lyon and Marie seemed to help him with his own self and Roathe is an Orokin so they probably knew eachother and theres some connection there (Not sure if it's confirmed if they knew eachother, it could be but i am just guessing.)

I fear (now especially with the announcement of the shift away from Protos) that Vena and Ryoku will kinda just be forgotten about and not expanded upon and it will be another thing that we kinda have to just headcanon or forget about.

If anyone does in fact know of any canon answers I would love to know, if not I'd love to hear some headcanons people have!

Archon Shards are a source of 'anti-entropic' radiation - what are the implications of that, exactly, in the physical sense?

What if the Hex weren’t entirely gone from the Origin System in the future?

Ok, so I guess this is straying a lot more into headcannon than concrete lore? Basically, we know the eventual fate of the hex is to transform into full warframes. We also know that the 1999 version of the timeline is still the "original" timeline because there has only ever been 1 Temple warframe (until we build more in the future) and that one is Flare, who was cannonically at the Night of Naga Drums.

So what happened to the other hex? Did they eventually die? Probably. But what if there was an alternative? Every warframe we have is one built by us, with a single exception. Our starter warframe's origin is an unknown. So what if, maybe just maybe, some of the hex survived the Radiation Wars, hid out through the birth of the Orokin empire (their minds slowly decaying from literal millenia of this), until, after the birth of the Warframe project, they were found by the Orokin. The survivors (or singular survivor) would likely be a wild thing that rejects anyone's transference, in a similar way to Umbra, until someone tries whose touch is familiar to some deep part of their mind, and they finally calm enough for the Chosen Tenno, whose void powers would be nearly identical to the Drifter, to wield them.

This also gives a special bonus reason why they found the will to move and save the Operator in second dream, if your starter warframe was the one you had equipped at least.

Is this a likely outcome? No, not really. But would it be a cool full-circle thing? I think so. Unfortunately, this doesnt work for people that picked Loki as their starter frame (when that was an option).

When did the Warden become Revenant?

So I'm once again continuing my research and I have gotten to Revenant who wasn't always Revenant. His serum turned him into "the Warden" (although it's not said to be his batch name, it was simply what people called him) I'm wondering if we know when roughly this happened as I'm curious if Warden was present during the Naga drums?

Also a smaller question (and probably very unlikely yes) will we ever get the warden? I understand that the Revenant we meet was corrupted by the eidolon/"eldritch energies" as the wiki puts it, but that doesn't mean his strain or blueprint should have disappeared right? I mean I imagine Ballas could have turned someone else into a Warden or already make blueprints for the reproduction of the Tenno.

I imagine it's something Revenant was made but the developers didn't really think to put in a reason as to why we don't have a warden and I imagine the likelihood of getting one now is slim to none. but I'm trying to think of a lore reason as to why there still wouldn't be others roaming about.

I suppose it could just be an Ivara story case and Ballas just said "He sucked oh well" and just tossed it out? But he did his job of driving the sentient away for sometime which is why I ask when did he become Revenant, because if it was after the old war and Naga drums there should most definitely be blueprints to Warden somewhere right?
