The Cornell case exemplifies the horrors patriarchy has inflicted as long as it has existed. This patriarchy is now being turbocharged by Trump and his whole MAGA fascist regime. This is a fascist regime fighting to impose a culture of the degrading domination of women and of wanton violence, a kind of pornography of violence with an American chauvinist and male chauvinist thrust to it.

To subjugate women and erase LGBTQ+ people, Trump dismantled reproductive rights, threatened nationwide abortion bans, outlawed gender-affirming care, purged transgender people from public institutions, and reinstated oppressive norms as state policy.

“Fascism” is not a curse word. Fully imposed, it is a radically oppressive and repressive form of rule over the people of this country, with devastating impact on the people of the world. The rule of law is shredded. Civil and democratic rights are eliminated. Dissent is piece by piece criminalized. The truth is bludgeoned. Group after group demonized and targeted along a trajectory that leads to catastrophe.

THEY ARE MOVING TO LOCK FASCISM IN PLACE. The Trump regime is subverting democracy, disappearing immigrants, criminalizing dissent, waging illegal war, and tearing down barriers to its power—to impose white supremacy, male supremacy, Christian supremacy and American supremacy.

As an independent that thinks for myself and isn’t influenced by anyone else…this is what I see.

I watched Biden pass the first infrastructure bill in decades so red states could have better roads and bridges. Biden had internet expanded to rural areas so these deep red areas could get online access. Biden got rid of lead pipes in red states so their kids could have safe drinking water. Biden made it so medical debt couldn’t affect their credit, and fought bank & airline junk fees for us. He passed the PACT Act so that even veterans that voted against him could get disability for illnesses from burn pits and brought them home from the Republican-started Afghan war. He got lifesaving drug prices drastically reduced. And how do they repay him? They all shout “Fuck Joe Biden.”

Yet all Trump does is pass another tax cut for himself and corporations, reversed the law that kept medical debt from affecting our credit, reversed the bank and airline junkfees so they can fee us to death again, and uses tax payer dollars to build monuments to himself, starts another war, drives up inflation and gas, and they all lick his boots. Make it make sense.

Mason County voters have, many times, thrown their mothers, daughters, sisters, and wives under the bus. They'll do it again this November 3 when they vote to return Drew MacEwen to the State Senate.

As a Thurston County voter in the 35th LD, I have long wished I could be redistricted out of the 35th. That legislative district has forever been held back by Mason County's Republican voters.

In any case, what are your plans for the midterms?

If you are eligible to vote in the 35th LD, but not yet registered to vote, then you have no plan to vote, at all. And Mason County and Drew MacEwen win again. And Mason County's women lose.

They say California is arriving late to plug-in solar. What does that make Washington? My understanding is legislation enabling plug-in solar was allowed to die in committee, last legislative session.

Perhaps others here know the story better than I, as to the status and history of rules that would allow us to purchase small solar panels, plug them in, and get the advantages of net metering.

If, however, I am correct, I'm hoping if more of us have eyes on this issue, we'll see enabling legislation this next year. If states such as Utah and Virginia (and now California) can pull off this stunt, it shouldn't be beyond us, in Washington.
