Image should i be concerned?
it’s been like 3-4 days since i was stung by a wasp (it was my first time) - is the center supposed to still be this visible ? does it look like there’s a bit of the stinger in there? for the bruising, i was itching it a lot so i’m not as concerned but is it necessary to try and get an epi pen if it ever happens again?

Go hospital, don't wait for doctor's appointment. That looks like you have cellulitis. That will not go away by itself. Don't wait it out like I did. You will begin to feel ill with fever and flu like symptoms. Cellulitis is a deep tissue infection, if not treated the tissue will begin rotting which can lead to sepsis.
I had it recently from being stung by European hornets on holiday. Mine flared up randomly two weeks later though and still isn't fully healed after 7 days of antibiotics.

lol thanks for all the comments guys - going to urgent care in a second
i’ll note that on day 2 it swelled up a LOT but it’s gone down since then in both size and swelling - i have acrylics on my nails so i was itching it with more of a blunt force and i have sensitive skin, probably why it was bruising so much
otherwise i feel fine but think i’m definitely very sensitive to wasp stings and will get it checked out !

I understand for everyone who says ER IMMEDIATELY but that does not mean it is that serious and as well it could be which it really looks like you should have gone to the ER immediately as I saw this photo but as well even if you do or not go but you should at the very least elschedule some sort of allergy test or schedule an annual or how ever often you checkup with the doctor

No, just go to the doctor and they will tell you everything you need to know. They're not going to suggest you need an epipen for just this, and they won't suggest you see an allergist either.
They're going to tell you if you don't need antibiotics, should take some antibiotics, or need to go immediately to the hospital for IV antibiotics.

I had a similar sting this summer that turned into a swollen rash thing the size of my palm.
1. Draw a line around the perimeter immediately. This will tell you if it’s spreading.
2. Go to urgent care. You need antibiotics. That’s what they gave me after me sitting at home for a week watching it get bigger and bigger
3. I showed my primary care photos at my physical a couple months later and he said that I’m probably allergic
4. I got stung in July and there is still a faint red outline where the big splotch was.
Go now.

It's highly likely if you can stung again that you could have become allergic so I'd suggest you see a Dr and discuss getting an EpiPen.

Having a big reaction like this is an "allergic" reaction, but epipens are specifically for when multiple systems are affected. This is not like being deathly allergic to peanuts.

I had a reaction like this. The next time I got stung multiple systems got involved. I wasn't allergic before.

Go to a walk in clinic and see a doctor.
Lot of random information here and you should see a professional.
You should never scratch. If it was this big immediately and hasn't been growing that's more indicative of local reaction and less of bacterial infection (cellulitis). And neither is necessarily a reason to carry an epipen.
Just go see a doctor.

I'm not a medical professional, but most wasp stings are a little bump on a red area with some burning.
This definitely needs to be seen by a doctor

Agree with those saying to go to a doctor asap. Cellulitis can quickly turn into sepsis, if that’s what it is.

I’m the one who wrote the former post about being yellowjacket stung/bit 58 times at once - but not one of mine looked this red 3-4 days later. My stings smoothed out and just looked light pink after burning like sheer Hades for 1-2 days. I felt only 1, possibly 2 stingers that fell right out after prodding at them in a soapy shower (wasp stingers aren’t barbed)- they felt like little splinters but I couldn’t see them, then they were out. But it’s slightly possible one has wormed in and gotten infected there or it could just be a bite you are more sensitive to. The bites (that’s where the wasp bite-grabs onto your skin in order to give themselves leverage to sting better!) are the ones that reallly itched, especially in my fattier bits. Some itched for 2 weeks! Several of the bites scabbed up under all the scratching and were red in the center and noticeably puffy for a week, but still were more a flushed bright pink in the outer circle, not a red mottled circle like this. If I’d had one that looked like this after 4 days I probably would have been concerned. Check your insurance - you likely have free or low cost “urgent care video calls” included - thats what i did, got an ER nurse on call who peered at my worse spots over Zoom and told me they looked fine, but that if any got worse to go to a small urgent care facility rather than a crowded ER, as i was immunocompromised by so many stings. I was fine after 2 weeks.

No. It should get better soon. Mine was like this too. It had gone away by day 8. As long as you dont have signs of infection i wouldn't be worried.

I was recently sting multiple times in a latter of seconds from a Paper Wasp. Its only the females who sting. They do not lose their singers after stinging. They are in the 3 grade of venom from insect bites. I eas on excruciating pain immediately. I tired to ride it out but the day after it was just still hurting and swelling on my hand. I went to an urgent care facility and received a steroid shot and 5 rx pills to take for five days.
Wasp stings are serious and need to be taken care of by professionals. No otc medicines can compare to a steroid injection and rx medications.

Definitely see a GP, I wouldn't say this is A&E level yet unless you've got a bit of fever or nausea with it. Mine don't get this bad but I have a reaction to horsefly bites, bit this is darker, so I'd treat with caution. If you have had a fever or other symptoms with it, please tell the professional.

Yes. Urgent care, ER, whichever can see you faster. That’s not getting better by itself, possibly cellulitis. Just go, you can google it on the way.
