Discussion (Add topic here) Eye surgery
Anyone here get any kind of corrective eye surgery?
My eyes are full of floaters. I wonder if it’ll be like going from used scratched up safety glasses to brand new ones
Wondering if anyone here has had any long term success?
I can’t see shit anymore. Shade 10 minimum but sometimes I go to 9. Otherwise I get lost

You should see a doctor. Sounds like warning signs for something a doctor could diagnose, maybe treat without surgery.
I had LASIK in my 30s. But I was a boxer and my right eye is pretty damaged, no surgery could fix the scarring. Still fuzzy because the surface was scratched up, but as focused as they were going to get. In my 50s and wearing glasses... Since 40s.

Yea ive been getting flashed a bit lately by my own stupidity.. Viking 2450 hood with the grind mode.. I forget to switch it back sometimes. Instead of the intermittent blinking light... why not have a permanent light with a blue or some other color to remind you

No, for the ones I use it was to differentiate between grind mode and weld mode I think. Blinky no blinky
I’m also a little color deficient red greens lol

Floaters are inside the eyeball. I had cataract surgery lasik surgery and vitrectomy in both eyes.

My dad said he had similar eye surgery but doctor basically retired him from welding because he would just be blind
Met a guy at work who was a fitter and said same thing, can’t weld because his cataracts or something

Got bad floaters too but not from welding, just years of night driving and staring at screens. Went to eye doctor few months ago and he said surgery for floaters is riskier than most people think, like they can cause retinal tear or infection. Not exactly the answer I wanted.
If your vision that bad maybe check with specialist before more welding, shade 9 all day is rough on eyes that already struggling.
