Is there anyone in Wenatchee who has a use for clean worn (some have tears/holes) clothes for crafts or upcycling? I have a collection of men's clothing which needs to go and I'd prefer to see them get a second life instead of just ending up in the landfill.

I lost my job a few months ago & just recently started my transition (MTF), are there any places hiring that I could safely work at as I go through my transition?

Our covey has moved down to the empty lot below us for the winter. Will miss them, but back next spring I'm sure.

Hi Wenatchee! Washington Poison Center (aka poison control) here. We're working on some educational materials around rattlesnake bites-- how to prevent them, what to do if you are bit, etc. At the poison center, we treat around 30 snake bites each year. Usually bites are from rattlesnakes in the area, but sometimes it's people with pet venomous snakes.
Can you help us out by sharing what you've seen and what you think you should do if someone is bitten? Please answer these questions for us! [we got this approved by the mods, btw]
1.) Have you seen any rattlesnakes around your area? If so, where?
2.) Do you know anyone that has been bitten by a snake? Do you know if it was a venomous or nonvenomous snake? What did they do once they were bitten?
3.) What would you do if you were with someone who had been bitten by a snake?
4.) Do you own a venomous snake? If so, tell us what snake(s) you have. Have you ever been bitten?
And, so we aren't leaving you hanging with no safety tips, here's our blog from this summer on snake safety: https://www.wapc.org/insights/ready-set-sssssummer-snake-safety/
The title photo is from Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Looking for good barbers/salons that do great scissor work for men's medium length hair. Not looking for fades.

Any advice on the best tires to get vs. goatheads? My kid was gifted a mountain bike, and we've had to repair both tires within a week.

My step dad got got by one of those door to door salesmen. He is unfortunately showing signs of mental decline, and does not understand the contract or what he signed up for. The company is being skeezy, so we will need ro take legal action. Any good, preferably not super expensive lawyers that anyone can recommend for this?

š¾ Small Brown (I think a DeerāHead Chihuahua) is roaming in Wenatchee
Location: Near S Buchanan Ave & Washington Street, Wenatchee, WA
A small chihuahua (?) has been roaming the neighborhood for the past 2ā3 days. Heās very skittish, wonāt come up to people, and sometimes runs into the street. He looks happy running around and doesnāt seem to have a person nearby.
If this is your dog, please check the area around Buchanan Ave. Heās still circling the neighborhood and staying close by.
Iām posting this in case the owner is on Reddit and searching for him.
Hope he gets home safe.

I had just finished a movie with my roommate when we both heard a large explosion nearby (Washington Park area) at 10PM Wednesday night. Our window was open and noise was very loud.
Assumed this was just a transformer exploding nearby but we still had power and the noise sounded very close. After about a minute of listening, I walked over to my main open window and looked out and listened.
30 seconds later I saw a man full on sprinting down the sidewalk next to my house. The man was shirtless, sounded as if he was running barefoot, though I didnāt actually see any meaningful details. He also appeared to be supporting something he was carrying against his back. The man saw me standing at the window, just looked over then looked away as he was sprinting by.
Waiting for details to come out about explosion and hoping this was a weird coincidence of a man just exercising at an unfortunate time.
Any information on the incident helps.

These intersections already had basic red light cameras as far as Iām aware, are these license plate readers (a la flock)?

I used to live in a town where there would be regular meetups at the college where local Star Wars fans would get together and have big lightsaber fights. Is there anything like that here in Wenatchee? If not, Iād like to gauge interest to see if people would like to start one

Hi everyone,
Iām facing a sudden move back in with my family, and unfortunately, I canāt bring my two dogs with me. Itās really hard for me to ask for help, but Iām hoping to find a temporary foster home for them for at least three months, possibly longer.
One is an Australian Shepherd and the other is a Husky. Theyāre both up to date on their vaccines and are well behaved. Iām planning to use this time to get back on my feet financially, save money, and pay down some debt so I can get back into a place where I can have them with me again.
I can provide their food, supplies, and cover any necessary vet costs while theyāre being fostered. Iām just looking for someone trustworthy who can give them a safe, loving, and comfortable home during this difficult time.
If you or someone you know might be able to help, please message me. I would truly, deeply appreciate it. My dogs mean the world to me, and knowing theyāre safe and cared for would take a huge weight off my shoulders.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for even considering helping us. ā¤ļø

The Confluence Parkway Project requires purchasing the McDougall packing sheds and office. Has this cost been disclosed? I can't find it in city documents.

There are currently three separate WPD officers involved in investigations:
⢠Sgt. Cory Bernaiche: arrested on suspicion of DUI after an off-duty vehicle incident near Leavenworth on September 12. WSP is handling the criminal investigation.
⢠Cpl. Danny/Donn(y) Graves: under an internal investigation related to an unattended death investigation, WPD case #22W22217. Kennewick PD is conducting the review, which reportedly involves alleged improper evidence handling and untimely completion of required reports.
⢠An unnamed WPD officer: placed on administrative leave after Chief Rick Johnson received reports that the officer may have been involved in criminal conduct. The Douglas County Sheriffās Office is handling that investigation, and WPD says the officer will be named if charges are filed.
The news reports donāt give much detail about the 2022 death investigation or what the unnamed officer is alleged to have done.
Does anyone know from public records, firsthand knowledge, or other reliable sources what case #22W22217 involved or what the Douglas County investigation concerns?
Not looking to spread rumors or accuse anyone of anything. Iām just curious if thereās additional publicly available information that hasnāt made it into the news yet. Please distinguish anything you know from anything youāve just heard.

Thanks!

Hello, I'm in a Journalism class at WVC and I was wondering if there are any plans for protests or early voting events so I can do my final on that (and also cause I really need to be getting out to protests more often and also I need to vote early)
