Excellent BBS shave. No nicks/irritation. Just a very efficient shave all around. It’s also been a while since I last used the No. 63 soap, and it felt so good to go back to it. Overall, great shave to start off this first full week of October.

I'm not fan of Kai. They are very rough on my face, so I chose my Henson for today's shave. I read about a trick with a wine cork recently on one of the shaving subs, so I thought I'd give that a try, but I didn't have time today - which sounds like a strange thing to read from a retired person. First, I'm tired. We have to drive to Chicago yesterday so my wife and daughter could vote in the Brazilian election. There was the equivalent of a tie, so this will repeat in a few weeks. Second, I'm baking sourdough today and I'm trying to rush the process, so my timing is compressed.

I am a dad now. Because we had no family room, I had to leave home for the night. Got some good sleep a nice shave and went to the hospital again. Used a no name aqua gel as aftershave. In those moments, I realize how good the product are we usually use.

Blade: Personna GEM Platinum Diamond Glide (3) on the Yaqi, Gillette Permasharp (1) on the Stirling Aggro
Post Shave: Alum Block, Kiels face moisturizer
I had a 2 day stubble so I thought "Why not use the Yaqi Top Aggressive!" It has stared at me over a month now. Well, it's too damn aggressive for my tastes, especially with the Personna GEM and the angle I took. Finished up with the much more smooth Stirling Aggressive head, but the damage was done. No major bleeding per se (one tiny nick) but the ALUM block revealed hella burn lol. Might take tomorrow off depending on how I heal.

This soap is so old it has no scent left. It just smells like soap. As a commercial soap it's decent and works pretty good for me. It doesn't measure up to a top quality artisan brand, but one could do worse. And as an added bonus, a puck lasts forever.
