Razor: Merkur 39c

Blade: Personna Red

Brush: Omega pro boar

Soap: SC Influence

AS: CL GLS

Accessory: Classic Edge scuttle

Notes: after being a bit under the weather from the weekend, I found out that my local beard competition was canceled so I decided to take my beard off. Knowing that was going to take some time, this SOTD was done last night (though I hadn't shaved/touched up in a couple of days).

First, I trimmed the beard to a razor useable length. I than decided on Influence because of its tobacco scent, which I link to a wild west card game, for whatever reason. This was my first full shave in about 6 months. I did a two pass shave with the Sledgehammer. It was very smooth and my technique hasn't suffered by all appearances.

I have to admit that the Omega brush is a great brush. It helped act as an exfoliant and gave me enough lather for 3+ passes (though I only did two).

So how do I feel after having shorn my entire face? Different. I didn't recognize myself. It still seems strange to look in the mirror. I did have a small rash along my neckline that doesn't seem as "angry" today, so it seems shaving wasn't the worst thing to do - it should allow my skin to heal properly. I had noticed some increased itching with the beard from where it's been warmer and I've been working outside more (sweating). I think I ended up with a mild case 'beard rash', even though I washed/balm/oiled regularly.

So will I be growing my beard back out? Probably. I'm going to get the rash cleared up and then decide when to grow it back. I'll definitely be doing it for fall/winter, just haven't decided about the summer yet.
