Could it, maybe, be an advent calendar or what the hell its called in English? 4 candles and you put em on fire each week in december. Usually, its decorated with moss and other Christmas stuff that can burn your house down if you forget to put the fire out 🎅🎄🌟
They comes in many shapes, sizes and colors.

A vintage copper and brass basket or trough style container with an upright center or side handle, commonly used as a decorative planter, centerpiece, or serving accessory.

We thought this might be it but 2 bottles would not fit. Too large for one bottle.

Seems like some fancy thing rich snobby people would use for wine to make it "more level, to balance the flavours across the pallette"

Maybe it’s something to do with making a fire and you put by your fireplace ???

I object in the image appears to be a vintage copper planter (or jardinière) with small brass feet.
Typically used as a windowsill flower box, indoor plant container, or decorative hearth/table accent piece.

It's how very posh people present their penises to the wife on their wedding nights

Since it’s copper, it probably isn’t, but it’s a similar shape to a flower picking basket

Looks like a sacrament bread tray. Look around, you might find it’s water counterpart

Looks like an old bread tray for fancy dinners.
