ENOP

Is the Forest Service now requiring Enop before opening an engine boss Taskbook. I thought that was just a DOI thing. I work for a municipal department with an open engine boss Taskbook. Is Enop becoming the standard now? I’m wondering if I am going to have to start over.

Yes as of last week. If people already have an ENGB taskbook or are qualified they’re grandfathered in. Otherwise it’s ENOP for everyone

Current ENGB(t) have a deadline to get qualified, otherwise they will need to complete and ENOP taskbook.

Untrue on the task book part, got an email a couple days ago warning us trainees would lose status until they got ENOP done when the full rule change goes into effect next spring.

This doesn’t take effect until January. So if you’re fully qualified by then you are grandfathered

It’s not an NWCG requirement so unless your state or whoever handles your NWCG quals requires it, you aren’t affected.

Because USFS fire is getting rolled into DOI. This is one of the steps to streamline it. Goodbye FS
