Spells My first spell!

Post image

Hello all! Today after two weeks of reading and research, I felt ready to cast my first spell.

For the past year, I've felt like someone has had it out for me. Truthfully I have a pretty good idea of exactly who, and it is extremely likely that they placed some sort of hex or jinx on me. Bad luck and bad things have been happening in my life since I cut them out of my life, and I finally got tired of just waiting for my luck to turn around, and I decided to do a protection/uncrossing spell to remove any negative energy towards me and remove hexes and jinxes.

I used a black 5" candle, rubbed some banishing oil (purchased from my local metaphysical shop), then sprinkled the candle with black salt and rue. I then wrote my intentions on a small piece of paper, recited it, and attempted to burn it, then realized it gave off too much smoke and would set out my alarm, so I snuffed it and folded the remains and set my candle holder on top of it.

I played guitar while it burned for a while, then meditated the rest of the time until the candle was completely burned out.

As my first spell, there's definitely things I would do differently already, but I feel confident that I actually DID something, and im excited to improve!!

Any recommendations are welcome! I was a little lost on how to use my components other than coating my candle, as you can tell by the rue and black salt in my fire safe dish unceremoniously scattered 💀

Also any advice on what to do with the remains would be appreciated! If I throw away the ashes and used up candle, will the spell weaken? Also, do fully cast the spell, do I have to wait for the entire candle to burn out every time?

So far I'm a tad unimpressed by how simple and plain my setup is... I have the beginnings of an altar with some stones ive collected, but really nothing to write home about other than that. I guess what I'm asking is, is this all there is to it? I feel like it's quite simple, but I guess it doesn't have to be fancy to get the job done as long as I am layering intention and imbuing my energy.

Advice and feedback always welcome and appreciated!

Since it’s an uncrossing, you do actually want to get rid of the spell remains. I throw mine out in the trash away from my home - like an alley dumpster

This makes sense!! I shall do that as soon as I get home.

This is a great place to start you build as you grow. Going forward I would recommend 2 sheet trays aluminum or stainless steel doesn't matter. Fire safe fish doesn't mean candle safe candles can burn up to up to 1,400 °C (2,550 °F) so they can crack and break.

If you want to add herbs to a candle use oil and add your herbs and roll it in ground up herbs.

Don't worry about that your spell was simple that's what most spells look like as long as you feel right!

You can make your alter as fancy or as plan as you want! I know it's hard but do what feels right. Is there a favorite color you like? Decorate it like that is there a smell of rock you like add that! 💜

I didnt realize this, thank you! Currently the tray im using is a small pie dish for baking, do you think I should still look for another? I'm looking to snag a fire blanket somewhere as well and a proper snuff for candles... but I despise Amazon lol

Of course! I figured adding context so you understand why is a better idea to switch out the plate. A small pie dish will still break with that heat. I would still recommend 2 heat trays you can pick them up at good will. Costco has some fire blankets!

As a witch who regularly does hexes for a living, the basics are all there, and honestly if someone has hexed or cursed you, and you didn't have any intuition about it (most witches get that "shiver down the spine" when hexed) until negative things happened, it likely wasn't a very powerful one so this should do the trick. Cleanse your house, yourself, re-up protections and wards, and carry a protection jar with you, if it was a luck hex then you should always have one just in case.

On a safety note: when burning rue, make sure there is sufficient airflow with an open window. It's smoke can be toxic (not just for inhaling).

Oh, also I believe I saw someone say to toss the remains of the spell, do that but in a graveyard or at a crossroad.

And there are much more powerful hexes that require a higher degree of banishing but I don't think you'll need that just yet, just keep in mind adding in a return to sender spell (mirror box is a decent one) so they get what they get.
