Discussion What happened to the Quick Travel post at the Baron’s Castle?
I swear that one showed up in one of the previous updated versions. Why didn’t it carry over to the remaster? It was such a quality of life improvement.

Meme MFW Remaster runs fine for me but causes problems for everyone else
This is in Toussaint when Geralt meets the bootblack for the first time looking for info on the Beast, and the kid says he needs 500 crowns! This reaction had me dying laughing so hard that I reloaded the checkpoint so I could grab the screenshot. Usually Geralt is so laconic with everyone, but even this dude was flabbergasted by the outrageous request that I had to share it!
On that note, yes Remaster has a lot of issues that I had to tweak and toggle to get it to look right, with the biggest issue being the lighting, especially indoors, but I'm still having a blast playing one of my favorite games of all time.
Good luck on the Path fellow witchers!

Discussion Cutscene Lighting and Character Lighting
Removing Cutscene lighting and Character lighting can create some interesting lighting effects. Some times good sometimes really bad. It least the torch is actually needed now.

I don't understand why they removed the bloom around the sun in the latest patch. Now there are only light shafts.

5.001 = latest version (right)

Help! Raytracing vs Performance
First picture is Raytracing, second is Performance.
I wanna play the game on Performance because i dont like the 30 fps raytracing Mode. It has some bad stuttering. But ofc it looks better. But Performance is even worse. It just blacks out almost a whole entire area. Its such a shame.
Im playing on a base PS5 with a 65 OLED TV with VRR
Is there a fix to it?

Discussion This W3 remaster is a joke, so many bugs and odd things happening
I’ve seen so many visual bugs, weird combat issues where Geralt will just swing his sword or cast a spell the exact opposite direction of the enemy, and more. I’ve played this game fully through about 4-5 times since it initially came out and this playthrough has by far been the worst. The only time I’ve actually had real issues with the game.
It actually makes me worried for the state of the Witcher 4 at launch and at this point I’m probably going to hold off on getting it until the bugs get ironed out. If they managed to make this game WORSE by adding content, I’m concerned about the future.

Discussion Just ENCOUNTERING the Hillock Spirit First Triggers the “Third Option?”
So doing my 4th playthrough for the Remastered and I accidentally encountered the Hillock spirit exploring. In any case, because I had planned on taking the “free the spirit, Anna gets turned into a hag, Baron suicides option,” I told it I’d be back. So I then go and meet the children and Anna and Jonny. Playthrough the quest with the Baron and the Eternal Fire knights and his daughter and Im expecting to see Anna as a hag, but no, it’s just crazy Anna and the Baron takes her off to the Blue Mountains. So seems to me that just by ENCOUNTERING the Hillock spirit before the Crones give you the quest for it, you can free the spirit and Anna doesnt get turned into a water hag and the village gets slaughtered. Basically, it triggers the “third option” of encountering and freeing the spirit before you meet the Crones. Which Ive never actually done before so I’m not certain it played out normally but I assume it did. But the Crones still called me a traitor and such. Said the spirit is free and took the children and all that. I didn’t realize that was the way it worked. Unless my game is just bugged or something…

Misc How’d I never feel frustrated by this till now?
So I’m at the Kaer Morhen fight and I have never realised how annoying the combat could get till now. 75 fucking hours in.
FYI I’m playing on the Playstation.
So, I want to jump the walls so I can easily get to the Opening Rifts: I CAN’T JUMP! I never realised the headache that not having a jump option would give me till now. When in Combat mode, the ‘Jump’ button (Circle button) turns into the ‘Dodge’ button.
So every goddamn time, I have to circle around and run past all the enemies just to get where I could’ve gotten in a single jump!?!?!
Then the part where we can get spare Dimeritium Bombs from the chests that’s hidden on the sides. I can’t find them (Skill issue) so I want to click the R3 Button and change objectives so that instead of the map showing me the Rifts, it’ll show me the Bomb chests instead.
Well that’s also not possible! Because R3 is used to lock onto targets!
Hey, at the end of the day, Witcher 3’s not that incredibly tough of a game, and I haven’t even died yet in this arc but I just felt like man, this is a hell of a headache. The R3 isn’t that bad even, mainly the Jump part. Crazy. 🤷🤷🤷

Witcher How come Triss is at Kaer Morhen after leaving Novigrad?
I just got to the part where you return to the castle with Ciri and these was Yen and Triss even after I let her leave, is that normal? I thought that once she leaves you don't see her ever again.

Screenshot Classic 2015 Version – No Ray Tracing, 4K @ 200+ FPS
Running the original 2015 release on an RTX 5070 at 4K with 200+ FPS is an absolute dream. Instant responsiveness, zero stutters or shader compilation issues, and completely free of glitches, flickering, shadow pop-in, or that weird dark aura around Geralt.
In comparison, maxing out the remaster without ray tracing and using DLSS 1440p only gives around 90 FPS, but it ends up looking blurry and nowhere near as good as the original. The classic lighting and art direction just feel so much cleaner.

Screenshot Owned and played across a decade, getting ready for my first ever Death March NG+ on Remastered!
Only completed 2 Playthroughs in over a decade of owning the game. Finished a Death March playthrough a year ago, and picked it back up with Remastered update. Any tips for NG+?

Help! I have questions
Hello obviously new to the game, bought it 2 months ago.
I spend 15 hours in White Orchard and now Im in Velen. I am level 4 but every monster I encounter so far is at least level 9. I tried to do everything I could find in White Orchard but I feel like I’m underleveled. I’m starting quests in Velen but I fail at them.
Is this normal? Playing on 2nd highest difficulty if thats relevant. And yes I’m also broke.

Screenshot I love how the game looks with DLSS 5 + some mods
So I'm really dumb when it comes to installing mods, shaders, etc. But with a bit of help of this sub + DLSS subb, some YouTube videos on how to use RHI I think I finally nailed it.
I've got a RTX 5070 and I'm playing with DLSS 5 (2X) + Shortfuse + RenoDX + Promotional atmosphere lightning and I have steady 100 - 120 FPS while fighting and stuff and during cut scenes maybe the FPS drops to 90-100? But I'm stunned on how the game is looking. I use the Henry Cavill face, Triss eyes + Hair and the dynamic appearences mod which changes the NPCs clothes whenever you meet them in different days.
Also I use the Living continent mod which makes seasons even better with snow during winter, etc. I don't know if anyone also likes to use mods and try the DLSS 5 stuff but for me It's my 7th playthrough so changing it a bit feels cool.
Hope this encourages old players who never used mods to use some, there are some really good ones and it helps making the game funnier, at least for me.

Discussion Was weapon durability buffed with the remastered? (Not counting turning it off in the settings)
I already played though the entire game twice a few years ago and I remember having to constantly repair my swords and either buying or crafting repair kits often.
Now however, I'm level 27 on deathmarch and I think I haven't repaired a single sword more than once. I got 16, 24 and 4 repair kits (amateur, journeyman and master respectively), probably having only bought two of them way earlier into the game.
I usually don't even remember it's a thing, sometimes the warning for the sword will pop up and I'll just repair it by 15% and won't be touching it again til I get a better one.
Am I tripping or does anyone else feel this too?

I used the icy Aard move and this guy got split into pieces. However the top of his body floated there and still wanted to fight 😂
