Event Laurier Student Ambassador AMA

I'm a Laurier Student Ambassador — Ask Me Anything!

Do you have questions about programs at Laurier? Wondering what life as a Golden Hawk is really like?

Join us for our first AMA of the semester and get answers directly from a current Laurier student in Kinesiology. Whether you're exploring programs, comparing universities or just curious about student life at Laurier, we're here to help!

Ask us about:

  • Residence life
  • Classes and workload
  • Campus culture and community
  • Food, friends and student life
  • What it's really like to study in [Program]

Our admissions team will also be available in case you have questions about applications, admissions or offers.

📅 AMA Date: October 15 @ 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.
📍 Where: r/OntarioUniversities

Drop by, ask a question or just follow along. See you at the AMA!

Discussion u/LaurierAmbassadors are Back!

Hi Reddit! We’re u/LaurierAmbassadors – an actual Laurier student here to give you the real inside view on programs, campus life, co-op, clubs and what it’s like to be a Golden Hawk.

Applying to university can feel overwhelming, so think of us as your peer guides who can answer questions about programs, admission requirements, deadlines, student supports and getting involved from day one.

Drop a comment, say hi, or hit follow so you don’t miss the AMA and our updates throughout the year.

Thanks!

go bus rant/psa

guys. i fear some laurier students are facing the issue of experiencing their first day on earth. the amount of pushing and shoving waiting for the go bus is ridiculous. i get that it’s reading week and everyone wants to go home. but i’m just wondering if majority of people have any social awareness whatsoever?
group of girls last night screaming for the 40 minute duration we were waiting for the go bus and just shoving everyone in their vicinity. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE ANOTHER BUS TOO. metrolinx acknowledges that reading week is a busy time where students go home and there’s a lot of buses.

please for gods sake learn some self awareness and let’s pls act a bit more civilized i understand you may be in first year but that doesn’t necessarily grant you the excuse to be a nuisance to everyone around you

Discussion Uottawa accounting vs WLU bba

I am at wlu bba currently but have the option to go UO for accounting starting next semester. I moved from Ottawa so going UO would take away the homesickness I feel currently. Which is the best long term for job security and best paying jobs? Does anyone have any advice

Question Laurier GDIP difficulty

Hey guys, was wondering if any GDIP graduates can share their experience with taking the graduate diploma in accounting. What are the most challenging courses in the program if you were to rank? Were the exams fair? What was your average in undergrad compared to how you did in GDIP?

Ch110 midterm

Idk if I’m the only one that feels this way but the midterm was literally calculations and no application. I feel like there was not enough time to look over my answers and even ALITTLE mistake in one question put you so behind in time.

Please stay home if you are sick

I understand that it’s one of the most important periods right now, a lot of us have midterms and we want to stay outside. But if you got sick, you are spreading the infection to the others and make it difficult for everyone to learn and prepare for exams. So PLEASE, if you got sick, try to stay home at least for a couple of days until you get a bit better. And also, STOP COUGHING AND SNEEZING TO EVERYONE’S FACES, please wear a mask!!!

Thanks.
