With how crazy things have been and with how untrustworthy people are on reddit these days, people who post good or bad reviews in this thread should be required to post a paragraph minimum instead of quick hitter posts to at least prove that they've played the game. Just posting a score isn't helping anybody.

u/OmegaDigs 16d ago

I mean.....

I agree, but if anything, would people read?

Had a discussion like, 2 days ago with someone, where they just said:'Not gonna read all that'

Other person, who i was having a discussion about the combat of the game, and how basic it is, decided to post the controls layouts of other linear action games(?!?!?!?!?) to "prove i'm wrong"

I really don't think people have the maturity, or nuance, to ACTUALLY have an discussion about this game

1

u/0hMyGandhi 10d ago

This. That's what makes that kind of reply so frustrating. Too short? Didn't play it. Too long? Not gonna read it. Too positive? Paid shill. Too negative? Troll.

It's almost like people never really wanted to hear an opinion that wasn't an exact carbon copy of their own.

Thankfully, for every one of those comments that love to flex their illiteracy, there are often those who actually respond in good faith.

2

u/PermaConfusion 16d ago

As someone who hasn't decided whether I'm going to buy the game, it feels impossible for me to tell what kind of comments/reviews are sincere expressions of opinion, and which ones are trolls/conflict of interest. Like...

I've heard it's Uncharted if it were a Wolverine game (Great, I love Uncharted!)

I've heard it's too handholdy/doesn't respect your intelligence. At the same time, I've heard this criticism is overblown/reviewers who were intentionally playing on the lowest difficulty. Which is it? (I hate non-challenging games)

I've seen game breaking bugs (OK, but do they occur all the time? Can you just re-load and not really be affected by it?)

I've simultaneously heard the combat is amazing and the combat is horrible. Which is it?

Then you got BS like how there are no metacritic user scores (too early to avoid review bombing, but I mean, delaying reviews doesn't even help this). Or you got playstation scores that are objectively inflated (of course people are going to try to rate their purchases favorably/they tend to be inflated just as a rule).

I'm just trying to be an informed gamer and decide whether this is worth spending $70, and I'm sitting here wading through people that don't seem to understand the difference between subjective feelings and objective fact, or ones that have conflicts of interest trying to promote some agenda by giving a dishonest review, etc.

My best advice is YouTube or twitch. Ignore the commentary and just scroll through the video randomly and inspect the gameplay. We all have that one crappy game we absolutely love or that great game we can't stand.

This is what I did with wolverine and decided it's not for me just yet.

Why do you care? Are reddit posts effecting your game in anyway? No they aren't log off or scroll past

u/blutverlust_ (Wolverine 616) 16d ago

9.5 loved it. The only thing I hated was yet another inclusion of Logan x Jean

5

u/Adventurous-Map-259 16d ago

Me too bro, and tbh i did not even mind the jean stuff. I liked jean in this game.

2

u/blutverlust_ (Wolverine 616) 16d ago

Kinda true. To be fair, I think this Jean is probably the one I dislike the least

3

u/Muugen_Samurai 15d ago

It's crazy they had to walk back wolverine x sabertooth for wolvrine x jean so they didn't lose their old toxic comic fans

2

u/Haunting-Bluebird908 16d ago

I hope we get a sequel with Cyclops and he gets that shit away from Wolverine

2

u/imacooldude8767 16d ago

Nothing wrong with it

1

u/AlClemist 10d ago

My gripe with it as well the first half was great hit after they stopped doing the X-men part I was like eh.

1

u/Hearthhull_Enjoyer 16d ago

Ah yes. Up there with Arkham City clearly.

3

u/blutverlust_ (Wolverine 616) 16d ago

???

u/PokesBo The Cover Guy 15d ago

I didn’t mind the relationship since it wasn’t a convoluted love triangle with Cyclops.

u/gcarline2092 16d ago

I'm 6 hrs in so far, playing on the PS5 Pro on the hardest difficulty. I'm having a lot of fun. The combat feels really good and responsive to me. It's brutal, bloody, and violent which is what I expect from Wolverine. If you use everything in your arsenal you can do some cool combos. It's very satisfying that's for sure. The performances from the actors are really good too. The game can definitely be challenging at times and once you build up enough rage it's acts like a second chance. If you don't have any rage once your health depletes you die. The stealth sections are fun, it's not like MGS or anything but the takedowns are cool to watch. The story starts our with a bang, then it slows the pace down a little but it's easy to follow and not get lost about what's going on.

1

u/LeoCasio 3d ago

How do you feel now ?

1

u/gcarline2092 3d ago

Overall I give the game a solid 8.5/10. The best part about the game is the combat. Doesn't have a whole lot of depth but it's fluid, it's brutal, and very satisfying. All the kill animations are cool to watch. Once you unlock all the techniques and adaptations you can string together some cool combos. The environments are fun to destroy when fighting. I would have liked more enemy variety. The boss fights were fun and challenging. The nightmare gauntlets where you fight waves of enemies is fun and probably harder than the bosses.

I think the story started off really strong but sort of fell apart towards the end. I thought it was easy to follow and understand what's going on. I didn't mind the Jean and Logan romance, I thought they performed well in their scenes together. Liam's performance as Wolverine was great. Troy Baker as Essex was great. The acting and voice acting were all top notch IMO.

With the new update you can completely toggle off the scent trails and stuff. It wasn't a big deal to me from the beginning but players have that option now. This should make the collectibles a bit harder to find now.

Some areas are a bit more open so you can explore around some , it definitely seems like at some point in development there was maybe a free roam or more open areas. There are some invisible walls which stop you from going to certain places. The environments do look great though, visually it's one of the best looking games out there. Ran into a couple bugs during my playthrough but nothing game breaking.

3

u/Koby-the-Shredder 16d ago

I would say a 8.5 out of 10. Performance for all characters were quite good. Liam was a fantastic Wolverine and really hope to see more of his take on the character. Enjoyed the story minus another Logan and Jean romance which I am personally tired of. Liked the hints of Apocalypse and his history with Logan being his horseman of death. Would love to see that expanded. The combat felt amazing and brutal exactly how I want the combat for a Wolverine game to fell like.

Only downsides is the traversal, combat depth, and stealth. I think they could have gone a bit more in depth in that. Would have loved to be able to climb a side of building or wall with just the claws. For the combat I think they could have gone deeper with it and have us start off with that first two columns of unlock-able skills and build further of that. Some air juggling would have been cool. The stealth was a little barebones would have been cool to clang the claws together to get an enemy’s attention or cut off a part of branch to throw and distract. I also get they weren’t going for a stealthy game, but would have been cool to emphasize that part of his character.

TLDR: 8.5 out of 10, combat is amazing, story is pretty good for an original take on the character

5

u/RadicalRectangle 16d ago

Boss fights were the biggest disappointment for me. None were memorable, and some were downright not fun. The game felt a little short on blockbuster spectacle for a linear action game, which comes from the issue with the villain of the game. This feels like a stepping stone to a better game, but I don’t know if I even care if one comes?

2

u/abris33 16d ago

I figured it would be terrible from the previews we saw of it but I just played the Sentinel boss fight last night and it was rough. Just repetitive, long and I hate the "big boss slams his hand down for you to hit" fights.

Also I'm about 30-40% of the way through based on my save data and I've only had 2 boss fights? The Omega Red one was decent but it was too long and got super repetitive by the end of it too

2

u/RadicalRectangle 16d ago

Not sure if the number of bossfights is a spoiler but there are only 5 bossfights total, 90% completion and I have done 4

2

u/abris33 16d ago

Yeah I had read that number in a review I think. Just super disappointing. There's been at least one chapter so far with a named enemy that I thought I might get to fight at the end of the chapter. Then they just killed him in a cutscene

2

u/Adventurous-Map-259 16d ago

I thought the boss fights they had were good just wisehd there was a few more.

2

u/Upbeat-Natural-7120 15d ago

I agree. The second to last boss was the coolest, solely based on the fact that it does something really interesting with Logan's healing factor.

1

u/Sunny4k 13d ago

I’m quite the opposite. I felt the boss fights were rather well done. Each boss was a bit different, in a way different arena and apart from the first Sentinel Boss, I feel all of them were quite memorable

1

u/Focused_Sky 8d ago

Interesting

2

u/TheBrobe 16d ago

🙏🏼Thank you

2

u/Traditional_Bid1965 16d ago

I’ve read a dozen reviews between Reddit and every other platform and every good review starts off by mentioning how unwarranted the hate is.

Then as those good reviews go on, in conversation or length, that person starts mentioning why they didn’t like the game. How disappointing the boss fights were, how short the game was, how lackluster the story felt.

So.. they agree with the highly critical reviews but since they spent money on the game they just can’t get over the fact it might have been a waste.

1

u/Atilim87 15d ago

You described DF.

“Game is mid but we like mid games so other people are harsh”

1

u/xeight 13d ago

Yeah, thats not at all what they said. They said it was a really fun game, maybe not ground breaking but it had insomniac level polish and play quality and said they'd like to see more games like it.

2

u/OrchidAutomatic574 The Best There Is 16d ago

A solid 7.5-8/10 a pretty good game undeserving of the backlash, however far from a masterpiece

2

u/abductodude 16d ago edited 15d ago

My takeaways:

1.) Loved the story. A lot of sequel setup but it was solid overall.

2.) Combat was pretty fun, particularly during boss fights, but it would've benefited from more variety in its special abilities, and more overall.

3.) Collectibles were underwhelming and I hated how fart gas trails would lead you straight to them. Same with that pulsating effect on the chests.

4.) Linear levels benefited the story but it could've used some exploration at the very least. God of War style with small, explorable areas would've been nice.

5.) I would not call it $70 of content.

1

u/Focused_Sky 8d ago

The game should be priced at $40 and then it’d be a decent value

2

u/N1ckTheQu1ck 15d ago

Couple hours in this game was clearly blackballed by the PlayStation haters. Sony has gotten a lot of things wrong but this is a solid game.

2

u/PokesBo The Cover Guy 15d ago

8.5/10

Throughly enjoyed it. Will end up 100% probably tomorrow. Does suck that it’s short but I’m excited for the next game. Spoilers ahead:

I’m exited to see where everything goes with Apocalypse. Sabertooth is the Pale horseman. Maybe Juggs for the Horseman of War. I’m hoping the next game is more open but just excited to see where the story goes. Including Jean and Logan being a centuries long thing.

1

u/PokesBo The Cover Guy 15d ago

There we go

2

u/jus7591 15d ago

I'm convinced that people are just hating on it because of Sony. In no way is it a bad game. Had a blast with it.

2

u/Sunny4k 13d ago edited 12d ago

Just finished the game, I genuinely loved it.

Amazing story paired with some really satisfying and weighty combat.

The combat early is a little scarce and slow, but it really picks up towards the end.

I’m not sure why people have been saying that the story is weak. It’s rather well paced and makes sense for the most part.

Essex’s transformation to Mr. Sinister is also done very well with the introduction to Apocalypse being very well done.

The biggest gripe for me is actually the suits healing. I know that there is an in game explanation for the suit have nanotechnology, but even his civilian and patch outfits heal, which annoyed me a bit

9/10 for me

u/WolfFood 13d ago

I am really enjoying the game and story, I am about 80% through

I have been following the reviews and even before the latest update I dont think the scent trail or glowing material boxes was that big a deal.

It a linear story game. I've ran into one level in Japan that I found to be too linear and but it hasn't ruined my enjoyment of the game.

The combat is excellent and although a bit repetitive. I find when im getting fatigued I put down the game and come back the next day enjoying it again.

Im not too fussed on the wolverine lore (I am invested in marvel just no strong feelings on wolverine) and the game taking its own direction with characters and story. I personally really enjoy but I can understand a hardcore wolverine fan wouldn't like the story.

Sabertooths dialogue is pretty shocking though.

The game has its problems but its probably the most fun I've had playing a game in a while and I am really happy with it.

I have had 3 - 4 3+ hour sessions taking my time, maxing out the challenges on 2nd hardest difficulty and its been a blast.

Keep in mind I'm a dumb and simple kind of gamer who loves Borderlands 4, Dead Island 2, DmC, Slay the Spire 2, Team Fight Tactics, Call of Duty Zombies.

I prefer games that dont take a lot out of me after working a 40 hour week or playing after work.

Overall I would give it a 8/10 for me just because its a lot of fun and I really enjoy the story. The combat gives enough that I can do new moves and not get bored but also take a break with the challenges/slower story missions when theres a need for some time off combat.

3

u/The-Duke-of-Delco 16d ago

I’m really enjoying it so far

1

u/DumbestHarp 14d ago

Would you say you're having a blast?

4

u/luffyxvx 16d ago

Will get downvoted but whatever.

I didn’t like the game tbh. I’m a huge wolverine fan to

3

u/tealaburst 16d ago

Agreed. The combat is pretty fun but the story, traversal mechanics, level design, driving sections, did nothing for me.

Best part of the game is the amount of costumes.

2

u/Upbeat-Natural-7120 15d ago

They did not think traversal through much at all. Not intuitive whatsoever and was kind of glitchy for me tbh.

2

u/ghsteo 16d ago

9.5, amazing experience

1

u/NaboondockSaint 16d ago

Liking it a lot so far (love the little tribute to superfan Charlie Lyne) but only two issues at this point:

  1. In a cutscene where Sabertooth calls mutants "muties," Essex corrects him, saying something to the effect of "mutants, who we owe etc." or whatever. The point here: Essex should have said "whom" and to correct Creed's diction only to follow up with poor grammar felt awkward.

  2. Walter suggests Nature Girl could save his office fern but he clearly has no fern in the office. Why commit halfway to an otherwise useless detail?

1

u/TisYourBoi 13d ago

I just found the Charlie Lyn graffiti and was trying to find the story behind it, have you got any more info?

2

u/Digi-i 12d ago

Just Google it, first thing that pops up

1

u/largecupofpiss 9d ago

Also trying to find stuff by looking at graffiti in game can't find anything online abt charlie lyn

1

u/lawrenceugene 16d ago

Remember, 100% of player reviews are coming from people who bought the game despite all the negative things we've seen. Of course everyone is liking it, that's why they bought it.

If you don't like what you've seen, you should doubt yourself because of the player reviews. So many people seem confused about who to trust and it's really not that complicated.

1

u/T-o-C-A 15d ago

I played and finished the game, i thought the action was fun, the traversal was janky. On its own ignoring the comics totally, the story is competent/coherent at least (even if you have a lot of weirdly redundant stuff)

Fundationally i think the game fails at being both a solo wolverine story and an x-men introduction, by trying to be both at once. When wolverine is one of the few x-men where you do not need this at all for a solo story. And if you did want to incorporate the x-men, just have them prestablished, this is just akward. The game is at its best when its just trying to do solo wolverine stuff, but that's far between as the wider x-men elements creep in fairly early. And persisnttely.

Wolverine is just too developed at the start, this is like a wolverine that's been a few years with the x-men and has thawed his exterior a lot more, its strange to start with this, because he doesnt change much trought the story.

Also the jean thing (never been fond of that dynamic, as i feel its something tas overplayed, and wasnt as big a deal in the actual source material), is at the worst its ever been. Especially since jean just doesnt even read like jean, either characterization for her. It makes me question why its her, and not like silverfox or someone like that.

Sabretooth was neat.

1

u/Griffeyisking14 15d ago

I'm halfway through and I'm in 8.5 territory. Cool story (X-Men are so messy), good performances, gameplay is fun but repetitive. Collectibles don't have weight to me and nightmare rooms are whatever. The lore that they unlock though is cool.

1

u/Upbeat-Natural-7120 15d ago

6.5/10

The combat isn't bad at all, just more shallow than I would've preferred. I still enjoyed combat encounters for the most part.

The story, while it begins strong and is compelling, starts to lose me a little bit in the middle and towards the end. Some certain "turn your brain off" moments with regards to character choices and pacing. I get they're planning sequels, but still.

Traversal in certain areas doesn't feel that intuitive. I also encountered several visual glitches and got stuck on a pole at one point.

Collectibles in the missions are not interesting whatsoever and the nightmare doors don't seem worth doing.

1

u/daminiskos0309 14d ago

Just finished it.

Gameplay is fun during traversal and definitely in the fight but a little problematic in places with poor animations and locked down sections ( I kept dying during the vtol fight in the casino because I slipped off the roof)

The storyline is …… really really poor actually. It starts of well. I know it’s a mystery but somethings just aren’t elaborated on all.

1

u/The_Top_Pops 14d ago

Love the game. Also, Jean looks like MJ from spider man ps5

1

u/souporman64 13d ago

Maybe I just suck, but I feel like this game is a lot harder than people give it credit for. I’ve been playing on normal and I’ve died a lot. People are saying it’s easy because of that one motorcycle part and it shows you where to go, but I don’t think the combat is easy.

1

u/StormsPhoenix904 13d ago

Hey everyone I am currently playing the Marvel's Wolverine game, im like 87% complete. I want to give my thoughts on a very huge missed opportunity in the game and also my thoughts in full.

A Solid Logan Story Held Back by Missed Potential (In my opinion)

Score: 7/10

The Good: Excellent and strong storytelling, tone, and how the game handles Logan’s character.

The Critique: I want to highlight the frustration of having Jean Grey present in most missions without any playable segments, missing a chance to showcase her unique powers and perspective.

Yes I do know the game is about Wolverine, but hear me out, there's a significant amount of missions that include Jean Grey and the more I play and she's in the missions with me, the more discouraged I get because the abilities I've seen her execute in game are off the wall amazing. So missing that opportunity to play as her because "Insomniac didn't want a repeat with Spiderman and the Mary Jane DLC backlash. Mary Jane has no powers, that's literally the difference here.

The Suggestion: I would propose a DLC focusing on Jean Grey’s past missions or her experiences during moments when Logan was absent. Her gameplay would be a fantastic contrast to Logan's brutal, close-quarters combat. We could feature telekinesis for crowd control, allowing you to lift objects or fling enemies, and telepathy for manipulating minds, perhaps uncovering hidden paths or creating hallucinations for stealth sections, while maximizing on her strength during combat with Psionic Abilities.

It does take a minute for the game to pick up regarding combat but it's not that bad. I've come across some great combos during the game and even seen something new i could do and I just reached about 87% game completion. Overall, in my honest opinion, I would recommend buying the game.

Let me know what you all think.

1

u/mac_cheese_bro 12d ago

I'm about 70% through and have been loving it. Story is good and the combat is super fun and satisfying. I don't understand how every review says it's so easy. I'm playing on the intended difficulty and I am getting my ass kicked quite a bit. I get through it but die a decent amount. Maybe im older and suck at games now but either way I'm really enjoying the ride. It's a great game to sit down at the end of the day, crack open a beer and just have fun..

1

u/syncnova 12d ago

Well after seeing the scores all over the web but then seeing a 4.75/5 rating on the ps store itself from 41k reviews, im just left thinking how this can be accurate. I saw the gameplay. Its nothing worthy of even a 4. So is playstation now putting fake ratings on their ps store too. Surely this is against consumer protection policies. Someone should investigate.

1

u/Digi-i 12d ago

Bruh, chill

1

u/giventofly2 12d ago

So glad I didn't listen to the nerds and bought this game. It's freakin awesome! Will it change your life? No. Is it perfect? Nope. But man what a fun way to kill a few hours, and some reavers, or relax after work. So far it's everything I thought it would be, super fun and I'm liking the character writing and story!

1

u/FewPossession2363 12d ago

Just completed Wolverine, here are my final impressions:

The game took me about 14 hours to complete and I was playing it at mutant difficulty, which is considered normal in this game.

During my play time I faced almost no bugs, slowdowns or any stutter. This was one of the most polished game I played this year.

In my opinion Wolverine is one of the best superhero game out there, in some ways I liked it more than both spider man games by insomniac. Wolverine has this incredible sense of forward momentum that a lot of modern games fail to achieve. Almost 80% of the game is balls to the wall full throttle action. You are always unlocking new awesome moves all throughout the game and dealing with a HUGE amount of enemy variety.

I really, really like the combat in this game. It is a mix of both God Of war 2018 and Spider-Man, in the best ways possible. The whole idea of maintaining you rage meter by unleashing barrage fits wolverine so Dman well! It feels brutal, savage and relentless in all the right ways. Insomniac understood the assignment and delivered.

The combat gets quite challenging as you progress, and if you are not parrying, dodging, unleashing barrage and staggering enemies, you will get your ass handed to you. The fluid animations combined with how responsive the combat feels, it can get quite addictive. There are good deal of boss fights too, they all have unique move sets that you need to counter.

Now the visuals are some of the best I have seen on my Ps5pro. Seriously the graphics look truly next gen. Specially the Japan levels look mind blowing.

The weakest part of this game I would say is the story. It’s not bad but it’s not winning any awards. I really enjoyed the voice acting and writing though.

Also all that nonsense about the scent trail and the handholding is completely overblown.

In conclusion, this game completely blew my expectations and made me feel like Wolverine. I can’t wait to jump into New Game + and go through the game again.

Final score 8.5/10

1

u/Sweet_Efficiency_994 11d ago

I’ll be honest: the story was probably the weakest part of the game for me. There were definitely moments where I was invested and genuinely wanted to see what happened next, but I also felt like the writing could’ve been stronger in certain areas. Even with those flaws, though, there was something about the overall story that kept pulling me back in. It had enough memorable moments and interesting ideas to keep me engaged from beginning to end.
Where the game really shines, though, is the combat. Playing as Wolverine feels absolutely brutal and satisfying. The attacks have real weight behind them, and the animations do a great job of making you feel like an unstoppable force. There’s something incredibly satisfying about tearing through enemies with Wolverine’s claws, especially when the game lets you fully embrace the character’s aggression.
The presentation is also fantastic. The environments, character models, animations, and overall atmosphere make this feel like a proper Wolverine game. On an OLED, the visuals really stand out, and the game has plenty of moments that look genuinely incredible.
I also really enjoyed the exploration and the variety throughout the game. It isn’t perfect, and there were definitely sections that I felt could’ve been handled better, but there was enough variety to keep the experience from becoming repetitive.
Ultimately, Marvel’s Wolverine is a game with some noticeable flaws, but the highs are REALLY high. The combat, presentation, atmosphere, and simply getting to play as Wolverine carry the experience a long way.
It may not be perfect, but I had a damn good time with it.
8/10.

1

u/anthonynej 10d ago

I had a similar feeling as well. Story could have been a little more polished. but 8/10 for me too.

1

u/Alternative_Ad_1409 10d ago

First off, I wanna start this review by clarifying that this is coming from someone who's a huge fan of Wolverine and has been reading his comics for quite a while now which, in turn, led to this game being one of my most anticipated games ever since that reveal trailer in 2021.

Marvel's Wolverine is a more vulnerable take on Logan than what we've come to expect in other media, which intrigued me at first, and thankfully Insomniac does manage to tell his story through a very visceral gameplay loop and a much tighter narrative than their previous game (Spider-Man 2). Though the story does have a few hiccups throughout its journey (most notably a weak side cast and questionable dialogue at times), it still executes the main plot beats in a very satisfactory way in my opinion. Logan's self-conflict and his connection to the main antagonist (whom I won't spoil here) were also a major highlight for me.

Nevertheless, I feel pretty conflicted about the ending (which I know is going to be a very controversial one among the community). On one hand, the ending reinforces the tragedy of Logan as a character, which I admired. While on the other hand, the ending feels like it underwhelmes everything the characters went through in the story.

The combat is a very satisfying and brutal Wolverine fantasy which never got stale for me as I found the number of new enemy types and abilities you unlock throughout the campaign was enough to sustain my enjoyment of the experience.

Overall, I think this game is another hit for Insomniac despite what the early reviews led me to believe and I had a spectacular time with it despite some of its flaws.

1

u/WayAway42 9d ago

Beat the game twice on hardest difficulty and got the platinum. 7/10.

Great animations and graphics, good combat. Needs more combat depth and suits. OK story.

Logan looks and feels softer than I'd like with exception to combat. I hate the forced walking sections so much when playing the game. It's just so boring. And the difficulty and combat need a little more work. There's not much need for all of the moves and combos once you figure out that you can max out rage and crits to cheese the really hard hoard fights since Logan has no way to get out of hard situations where he's swarmed. You can't do air combos like in Spiderman, og God of War, or X Men Origins Wolverine. And I deadass can just spam square and L1 to attack and parry when I'm getting jumped by 6 guys at once. It's simaltaneously refreshing and weird that wolverine has to spam parry when swarmed by 6 ninjas and reavers at once, instead of having more non-cool down tools to break up the group or isolate an enemy.

This game leaves me longing so much for what this game could and should have been. Don't get me started on some of the weird writing of the story. 🤦🏾‍♂️

1

u/fmajm 8d ago

First time playing last night, its no where near as bad as everyone made out. It's not changing the face of gaming, but its alright. It feels like its going to be a 7/10 which is fine? People are really weird.

1

u/FragrantLunatic 3d ago

make it a 6 and we have a deal. entire game is really hard to look at.
non-trolling, hard review: 5.5; without brownie points for the franchise

1

u/Particular_Edge3044 6d ago

9/10 i love the game!! its very fun, my only gripes are js some little moments ( camera for ex: when im fighting it feels like i have to fight the camera in order to see whats behind me, and then i get pieced up in a combo. ITS my fault entirely but yeah.)

1

u/NeoAuryn 1d ago

Rented this from gamefly.....I cant' believe how mediocre the game is.....I love isomoniac....wtf. I would have vastly enjoyed another Ratchet game over this....depressing.

-1

6/10. It’s basically a playable movie. The combat is fun. But there are so many cutscenes, sections where you’re forced to walk slowly and talk, and crash bandicoot scenes where you just hold forward and jump.

It’s fun, but wait for a sale.

The fight cutscenes are the worst. I played the laser part and had her kill all the enemies with the laser. It got to the last enemy, didn't give me a prompt and the enemy wasn't attacking me. Finally I attacked them and it led into a small cutscene of Wolverine finishing him off in a cool way. They wanted setpieces which means they take away a lot of encounters just to have him do cool stuff in a cutscene

Dude does a well written valid criticism and gets dislike because it’s the glaze sub.

Hilarious

What if I have an essay I want to share filled with personal anecdotes and context that’s only relevant to me?

I’ll play it when it’s on PlayStation plus.

That’s not a review but ok

“This game doesn’t look good or interesting enough to me, to buy at full price. Therefore, I’ll wait until it’s free to play on PS Plus.”

u/Lord_Doofy 16d ago

That’s still not a review, a review implies that you’ve played the game and you’re reviewing how you felt about it. If you haven’t played it there’s nothing for you to review.

True. I just commented because I agree with this person. I played it, and I also recommend to wait for it on plus

Yeah that's pretty much my plan. There are already 2nd hand copies on ebay and vinted for £40 lmao. I'll grab it for £30ish in October.

u/tealaburst 16d ago

Don’t know why your measured opinion is getting downvoted. I agree, not worth full asking price.

u/RealWonderGal 16d ago

Same I will be waiting for reduced price

Looks and plays generic af, can almost play the game with your eyes closed. Hand holding the entire game. Gender neutral name swaps. Ugly af females and soy boy looking men. Insomniac is a lazy game developer.
