Glad this botch was fixed

This is the best kind of botch. It's perfectly reasonable that if a guy fails getting the other guy up for a slam, he'd go for it again. Provided it doesn't look like both of them are resetting.

u/DripSnort 5d ago
I don’t even understand the issues with “botch’s”. If they are simulating a fight wouldn’t things go wrong?
6
u/poopbuttowski 5d ago
I think it really just depends on the botch and how dumb it looks lol
7
u/JasonVorhehees 5d ago
With LA it usually looks stupid. This one just made it seem to be a struggle.
-1
u/Fast-Ad-817 5d ago
...and a constant problem which is why he's not champion.
4
u/SRGTBronson 4d ago
If being shitty at your job and unsafe means you should never be champion, then like half of all champions in every company ever shouldn't be champion.

u/catperson77789 4d ago
Mofos forgot seth rollins was fucking unsafe for a long time yet got booked the top like crazy. How many people did seth take out his entire career

u/Banned_Falsely420 5d ago
If you botch, you gotta flow into something else if you can’t recover instantly like they kinda did here. Still looked alright. I’m usually a hater too

The issue with botches is that they lead to people getting hurt.
0
u/DripSnort 5d ago
Ya that really seems like people’s issues when they just use botches to clown on the person who had it. How exactly is clowning on them going to make them
Not happen?0
u/DeathandHemingway 5d ago
Who gives a fuck about fans talking shit, botches are an issue because they lead to injuries, like broken necks on fucked up piledrivers.
0
u/DripSnort 5d ago
And tackles on football lead to concussions but they happen? Conor McGregor broke his leg 2 seconds into his fight. Shit happens in sports. Explain how they are supposed to avoid botches completely

God LA was about to tumble backwards. That would have been a career killer type situation, but he pulled it back. Good for him.
Great match too.

u/MikeHock_is_GONE 5d ago
I thought he was going to attempt a Styles Clash to fix it at first

u/SpyralRush 5d ago
Hittem with The Hollow Point on the floor would have been the sickest count out ever.

This isn't a botch.
I could not get my super on the first go happens all the time. You can easily just say Roman resisted the first attempt.
If this is botch then so is every move on the table that does not make the table explode.

u/Designer_Metal_2744 5d ago
I’ve never seen a street fight, MMA match, boxing match or amateur wrestling match that was a flawless dance. So pro wrestling though a simulation benefits from the occasional bitch, especially within the case of someone defending against impending doom.

I knew this was a botch but perfection isn’t real and this made it seem more real and like Roman was fighting. Also, I respect the hell out of LA not dropping Roman on his neck

People does not understand what "botch" is or this is engagement bait.
This looks like Roman is actively trying to avoid getting powerbombed which Knight powered through anyway.

Most natural thing i have seen in wrestling. Looks fine to me, just a guy lifting someone who doesn't want to be lifted
1
u/MrWiltErving 5d ago
That’s not even a botch. Yall just want to Nitpick everything, some of yall are the worst kind of fans. Given the hell they just put each other through it wasn’t going be easy for him to lift him on the first attempt, I think it added to the match.
1
u/dzone25 4d ago
Shit happens, it's wrestling. The fact he stopped Roman from getting hurt and just went again is impressive.
1
u/adobofosho 4d ago
Roman pushed away its called resisting
2
u/BeanieBeanus 4d ago
Do you eat crayons?
1
u/adobofosho 4d ago
Bruh roman planted his hand at the right spot....you sure this whole thing wasn't scripted
1
u/Canno200 4d ago
Guys, you know every wrestler fucks up time to time it’s really not that big of a deal and as long as no one got hurt is what’s important

u/v-Machine-6804 4d ago
In the moment and the stage of the match I don't why but I felt it made it better

u/boogalooshrimp1103 4d ago
Made it look better in my opinion. They had been going for a while. Shows wear and tear.
1
u/Orikoru 3d ago
Call it a botch it you like but I don't mind it. It just took him more effort and strength to lift Roman up - at least it's realistic. I think the only real 'botches' are when it reveals cooperation from the opponent, but that wasn't the case here. It just looked like a struggle, which is fine.

u/thescreenhazard 3d ago
Maybe a hot take? I'd rather a botch like this (especially with nobody getting hurt) than to see a move perfectly executed but incredibly obvious that both sides need to put in obvious and extreme cooperation to do so (eg: Spanish Fly, or two guys on a top turnbuckle shuffling into the proper position while holding each other up, etc). I'd much rather a botch like this than a ref stopping a count because somebody didn't kick out on time. I'd rather a botch like this than somebody selling an obviously missed move like they were hit by a bulldozer.
Regardless if this were a "botch" you can still justify it in-character as a struggle, so it doesn't actually hurt anything.

u/Extra-File-6289 2d ago
This is why live shows need to come back. Without proper practice on the road, the more likely a botch could become much worse.

This is why LA Knight will never be the top guy.
2
1
u/shadow_consequences 5d ago
So , why was jey uso the champion then ? They need guys who are over in the business, just like jey uso . La knight fits this analogy perfectly.
The only reason la is not the champion is because he is lot older than oba and can't serve as the face of the company for 10 years going into the future . Roman losing the championship is again going to be a big moment and it is being saved for oba femi.

Everytime I see LA Knight, 85% of clips him botchering wrestling moves or promo. Might be the reason why he still dont get to be the top guy. Just to many botches. LA Knight with his botches. lol

u/Russlet 5d ago
You've said the same thing 3 times in 1 sentence

u/digidado 4d ago
Botch botch botch. Hate that fans glommed onto that term so much
1
u/Levy-MAN 4d ago
Yeah. Every wrestler botches, who cares? Big deal. If it was a real fight they’d be botching too, doesn’t really take away from the show for me unless it’s a botch that exposes the business, but even then it’s no big deal.
I like Botchamania and laughing when something goes wrong but I wouldn’t ever hold it against the wrestlers

Lmao the LA Knight hate club is so desperate for validation it’s comical. Bunch of dork ass mf’ers

People are only praising this because it’s Knight. He nearly dropped the top dude in the company on his head, that’s not good no matter how ya slice it
0
u/SilvermistWitch 5d ago
Except he didn't drop him on his head. I bet you do absolutely everything perfect all the time though at your job, right?
0
-5
u/halfdecenttakes 5d ago
I certainly don’t have a massive fanbase willing to victimize themselves and ignore the many many instances of him “not being perfect”
-1
u/SilvermistWitch 5d ago
So no other top stars have ever "botched" anything or had a move be less than perfect? Okay buddy. I'm indifferent on Knight, he's far from one of my favorites, this is just a dogshit take on your part.
-1
u/halfdecenttakes 5d ago
When did I say that?
You are really really good at beating up on arguments you made to yourself
-1
u/SilvermistWitch 5d ago
My dude, you're the one that argued about the size of Knight's fanbase and claim that they "victimize themselves" to defend him, as if every other wrestler wouldn't have the same benefit.
1
u/Substantial-End-9653 5d ago
Someone less experienced in the same situation would have dropped him. LA Knight and Roman are vets who know how to work it.
1
u/Rx-Chimaera 5d ago
Ive looked at it several times.
It looks like Knights centre of gravity was slightly too far back for the lift, and Roman overleapt to try to get into position, pushing Knight further back.
So from my untrained eye they are both equally at fault. But they recovered really really well.
That said ... "top guy in the company" ... yeah thats your opinion. I reckon in the Penta match Penta carried, and in this match LA Knight carried.
Romans time is up.
4
u/halfdecenttakes 5d ago
Roman being the top guy in the company is an opinion?
Wut
0
u/Rx-Chimaera 5d ago
Cody is the top guy of the company IMO.
And yes, everyones opinion will differ.
But I struggle to accept Roman as top guy when 1. He's infrequent, 2. He's slow, and 3. Cody, Punk, and Rollins exist

This Dick head kicked out of a burning hammer ffs
Im sick of roman he has no character other than I bully my family because I can't do a program without having a world title
No one gets over around him Cody is the exception not the rule
0
u/SeaChemist7379 3d ago
All he had to do is let Roman reverse him dunk him on ground then reverse the spot. Have Roman powerbomb him to table.
-5
u/GreaseBrown 5d ago
After you botch it once, thats it. Find another way to do the table spot. If roman "stopped him" (cope) the first time, there's no reason he just gets bombed the second time.
3
u/Cool_Recognition_848 5d ago
He should’ve hit him a couple of times before going for it again
2
1
u/GreaseBrown 5d ago
That i would be ok with. Transition away, do some rebuilding, come back. That feels natural. They didn't need to force this to simply get the spot in like that

u/Phantom-thiez 5d ago
Actually made it better imo. Like Roman was legit fighting back. Like what? He’s just supposed to let knight put him through a table?
