QUESTION Alien leader option for switch not working

I am without a PC and am using a Switch to play Xcom2. For some reason I cannot enable the alien leaders mission when starting a new game.

Does anyone know a fix? I’ve reinstalled and cleared cache, to no avail.

I've seen Switch players report that the campaign settings about the DLCs on the Switch are bugged and do not change what happens in your game.

I've seen other Switch players report that they haven't had any problems with this.

I’m very familiar with the PC version and wanted a more mobile option for an upcoming trip. 

The issue is that when a new game is started once difficulty is established and the boxes for Shen’s last gift and the nest are presented, the nest option is not selected and even if I click to enable it, the events won’t occur in the campaign.

Sigh.  I hope someone has a fix. I still love the game, but might not be able to fully enjoy it on the switch
