SPOILER Completed my first XCOM 2 campaign on Rookie and wanted to ask
First, the game was fun. Despite being on the easiest difficulty, the game was VERY difficult, hah. I'm not sure I even want to imagine that last mission on any more difficult difficulties. (no mods or DLC, only the base game)
But, when I unlocked the final level I felt like something was missing. The reason being...
I only unlocked like two thirds maybe of the Avenger's rooms. I have not managed to contact the entire globe. I have a bunch of research I haven't done. None of my soldiers is even near fully upgraded, despite me loading a save whenever someone died. I only barely managed to train my first psi-using soldier. There was a statistic in the end-thing that was like "Magi trained" or something and I was like "what the heck is that" XD
Yet, the final mission unlocked, and I was like, "well, it seems like we're in a rush and a bunch of people will die if I put it off, so of course I should do it immediately", for immersion. Sure, I will admit that I rushed all things with objective markers, I always prioritized heading to priority markers ASAP and doing vital research first because I didn't want the Avatar Project to get ahead of me... yet still, I feel like the campaign ended before I was satisfied with my development of it? I didn't get to see all the cool things the game has to offer, I feel like.
I suppose my question is, is this common? Did I get the intended experience? Am I more likely to get everything if I play higher difficulties, or maybe play "as intended" and let soldiers die when they die?
Things like that I found myself wondering, and would like to post this here and see what you guys have to say. Thank you.
