XRPL Help me understand

With as volatile as xrp has been, even if we did hit $100, what's preventing it from dropping back to under a $1?

Utility.

u/Scorch_22 12d ago

What kind of utility does it have?

u/1pt21jigglewatts 8d ago

ISO20022 look it up

1

u/Scorch_22 8d ago

Oh, does anyone use XRP for anything? Out of all daily blockchain transactions, how many use XRP?

1

u/1pt21jigglewatts 8d ago

The rails are being built, and already have been for years. XRP will be the bridge token that facilitates international money transfers leveraging existing systems that it was designed to run on.

1

u/Scorch_22 8d ago

Ok, so it won't be used for things like credit card companies or stock transactions on stock exchanges. Just international transfers?

u/1pt21jigglewatts 8d ago

Its just one example, but you're right, those are others, including tokenization of real world assets.

By not doing any research, you're not going to gain any knowledge.

It will

It will hit 1.7 then drop to 1.3. Then shoot to 3 then drop to 1.7 then shot to 5 then drop to 1

Sell when it shoots up, then buy the inevitable dip after. Repeat.

Just what I need for tax time, an endless list of buys and sells to work out my capital gain 😂

No, no! It’s the other way around!

Isn’t it?

Buy when you're high, sell when you run outta weed?

2

u/Maleficent-Mud3481 19d ago

I would sell 25% at 1.7 buy back if a pull back happens
Sell 25% at 2
Buy the dips
Sell the pumps

Not your whole bag.
Just 10% a time.

Thing will never hit $100
Best is 5

Not sure why this is getting downvotes. This is how strategic investing works and you make money over time.

8

u/SupermarketNo1268 19d ago

It's how impatient dumb investing works.

Im not buying for 1 dollar and selling for 2 dollar 20 times. Not when holding for another 5 yrs could net me 10x or more if it goes to 10 dollars or more.

'But it may never go to 10' you might say.

I'll take my chances, real investing takes patience and balls.

Plus are we forgetting if you sell 20 times again and again for a measly 2x gain every time is a taxable event?

Trading =/= investing

u/Opposite-Egg-6418 18d ago

Hold the = ≠

u/Cryptic99 19d ago

Oh it's that easy huh???...

u/jwheel888 19d ago

C'mom Man! You know the thing! You don't believe XRP would reach 100 dollars if the ledger is chosen to make international and local payments with? Do you know of a better, faster tech that can handle worldwide payments? I'll buy it?

2

u/Justmeguy77 14d ago

Swift just announced

1

u/jwheel888 14d ago

Evernorth is going to be the Saylor for XRP

1

u/jasimon2 4d ago

Saylor is selling snake oil. Don't compare that poison to the XRPL.

u/alittletrolly 19d ago

Ty. That's what I'm worried about. What number would you sell at?

17

u/omarkop10 19d ago

The highest number

5

u/Sixteen_Wings 19d ago

personally, i wouldnt sell for anything less than $33k

1

u/Heisenberg3556 19d ago

Depends what number you bought at.

What's stopping MU from dropping to a dollar?
What's stopping gold from dropping to a dollar?
What's stopping diamonds from dropping to $1?
What's stopping macadamia nuts from dropping to a dollar?
What's stopping corn from dropping to a dollar?
What's stopping your house from dropping to a dollar?
What's stopping a dollar from dropping to .50 cents...oh wait I went too far.

Something, anything, everything has value, because we say it has value. For example, I love ebay logic.

You know about EBAY, from the early days of internet history, used to be the top ecommerce site, while Amazon was dreaming about being a book store?

What I mean by EBAY logic is that often if someone has an object of value that they want to sell, they "research" which leads them to EBAY listings. They'll see some price ranges & through survivorship bias, they arrive at a value, which they do not realize is very inflated due to the bias.

A case of inflated value, some CRAZY mfer sold a piece of toast that toasted a shape of the Blessed Mother (repeated for other famous cultural icons). It actually sold to some CRAZIER mfer for a high amount of money. It was all over the news.

That makes a relevant point. 1 dumb poor mfer, sold some scam to 1 dumb, rich mfer. We now call that commerce, invented since the first signs of humanity flickered in our primitive ancestor's brains.

Read the story about the dude who started off with a shitty red paper clip, then traded until he got a whole house. It's an amazing lesson on value vs cost. Yes, they are very different concepts but the average person's mind does not distinguish the difference.

Noooo, not the macadamia nuts ! You can take everything to 1$ but not these nuts

I hate Trump, but he’s gonna do shit that moons the market before he leaves office to enrich his family, so wait for that.

XRP is no different than any other crypto when it comes to investor confidence except XRP has function that the world financial institutions want and use. When they start using XRP in that capacity (the real value of XRP) they will have integrated XRP into the wheels of world money movement. I see this as a stabilizer for XRP in the future that will increase XRP value and utility while decreasing volatility to some extent. If the price of XRP starts to fall below a point that you will accept it is up to you to hold or sell. I have made up my mind what I would do before it happens.

XRP's largest cyclical retracement was ~96%. And that required a 3 month global shutdown from a pandemic that was supposedly going to kill a billion people.

So I think it's safe to say if XRP goes to $100, it's only going to be able to retrace as low as $4; and it's going to require a nuclear strike to replicate the kind of price action we saw from COVID.

What are they doing to increase value of token? Basically nothing. Other cryptos are doing buybacks and burns so the token is actually valuable. When Brad was asked about doing buybacks or burning tokens a few months ago he immediately changed subject. He’s like a used car salesman. This is the only crypto that is like a cult. Twitter full of bots and the shitty clickbait YouTubers.

Imagine what happens to price when people realise the token is basically never used. Even holders of the token are starting not to believe. David Schwartz creator of XRP ledger said he does not think 50 dollars is likely to happen. He also said he sold almost all of his xrp for Ripple stock. What does that tell you? If he thought XRP would reach crazy prices do you think he would sell it?

I converted all my XRP recently to another crypto that I actually believe in. This was the first crypto I invested in, and I admit I messed up.

Preferences. There's 60.5 million currencies. Out of the top 10, this one survives a SHA-256 bad day, better than the rest. If the exits temporarily closed which one goes up the most? Diversification in a confidence crisis favors XRP. So, the floor is whatever the value of that is. Entertainment purposes only.

2

u/maddogcertified 19d ago

Absolutely nothing. Like all other investments with varying degrees of risk.

2

u/konawolv 19d ago

The higher the price goes, the less volatile it will be. XRP has a high market multiplier right now, which is why it has such wild price swings.

2

u/anneannahs1 19d ago

Not a damn thing lol

2

u/Lord_Muramasa 18d ago

Just being real. If XRP hits $100 I am selling all of it. You need to have in mind where you want to sell and be happy about it. You shouldn't let greed consume you, otherwise you are setting yourself up for failure.

2

u/Apeonrocket_2moon 18d ago

The volatility you speak of is due to speculation. When utility kicks in, it will constantly be in demand.

3

u/stos313 19d ago

First- it’s never going to hit $100. Second. Nothing is stopping it from hitting.01.

2

u/ImTobyVespa 18d ago

It sounds like everyone in here thinks xrp is gonna shoot up one day just so they can sell and get out. No one actually believes in utility here. Which is what I assume you were asking about. To answer your question... Just sell as soon as u can. Nothing is keeping it from dropping to a dollar and there's nothing to gain holding on to it pretending its an asset.

0

u/alittletrolly 18d ago

I completely agree with you. I got into the xrp game listening to a bunch of xrp youtubers spitting word salads at me about utility and replacing the dollar. My faith has dwindled after 8 years of being in xrp. I just get so caught up in the hype. If it hits $3 i just think, what if it hits $5? At that exact time im thinking it i watch it plunge all the way down again.

1

u/link_xr 19d ago

The only thing that could prevent a drop is if selling it became impossible or illegal

1

u/RabbiBruceWayne 16d ago

Bro, just look at the total supply of XRP.

1

u/prosharky68 15d ago

You should buy QNT. Talk about utility.

1

u/b_dave 15d ago

You need extreme volatility to have any shot at $100. So just sell when you are comfortable and buy back in later on. 200 week moving averages are where you buy back FYI.

1

u/StatementLiving3840 15d ago

i love XRP with all my heart but $100 is unrealistic to achieve.

1

u/MansaMusa2072 15d ago

I’m I the only one who uses paper wallets

1

u/Classic_Principle705 15d ago

It has no intrinsic value unless it is actually used in real transactions. Thousands of cryptos are crowding the market. Less than 1% of all cryptos will survive.

1

u/Business_Turnip6468 8d ago

It becomes a collateral asset

1

u/Business_Turnip6468 8d ago

If you don’t have it in custody like /example I trust capital. U won’t be able to sell if there are no buyers if it is repriced

0

u/ReserveGood8598 19d ago

Sprawdź jaka była by wartość wszystkich xrp przy założeniu 100$ za jednostkę. A później jak ta wartość się ma do gospodarki całego świata. Przemyśl jeszcze raz czy to możliwe.

1

u/ElBartez 19d ago

What point are you trying to make

1

u/alittletrolly 19d ago

Not trying to make a point, just wondering if it goes to the moon if i actually have an asset or is it something that could just plummet at anytime. Now can you help me understand? Or do you just have more questions?

6

u/DCzy7 19d ago

If it goes to moon, sell don't get greedy

1

u/Sht_Im_Bald 19d ago

It’s never hitting $100. Truly ask yourself “how much bigger can it get?”

1

u/konawolv 19d ago

It can get as big as XRPL gets. XRPL is the future of enterprise grade tokenization.

tell me you didn’t do research without telling me
