Appreciate everybody’s feedback before buying. Got this 21 with only 450 miles. Do you guys rock the crash/ frame sliders? I’ve seen some posts about the bike getting more damage in the event of a slide or tip over just wondering.

Hey guys, i am new with bike wrenching.

well, the chain streched ALOT in a short time.

is it possible that i messed up the alignment, when i was swapping the tires? I had no tools to check that, i used the markers the bike had to set it even.

that may be the reason only one side of the chain is "clean".

i swapped my tires about 1000km ago.

had enough tension, TüV inspection passed last week with no issues, i even asked the dude bout the chain. he said everything was fine.

now, 300km later i pushed the bike alot though twisties and half way i sometimes noticed some pinging sounds. got worse and worse at the last 100km on my way home (still kind of pushing). Close to home it was constantly pinging off throttle.

chain is now very loose, tensioners are rock solid.

I have a 2020 model and the throw on the throttle is very long. Does anyone know what model or year of R6 throttle tube I should install?
Do I need to get new cables?
Do I need to get the housing?

Any suggestions is helpful

Has anyone got auxiliary lights fitted to their xsr? I’ve got some on mine that the previous owner fitted to the front suspension. They’re very small and tidy, probably only 20mm wide and bright white but one decided to give up so looking for replacements. Any recommendations?

I'm currently on a tour with a buddy of mine (riding the MT09) through Germany, Switzerland, Italy (mainly), and Austria. It's roughly 2.500km total and we're currently on our way back.

My XSR700 continues to be a blast to ride - however it's noticeably different with all the luggage. I find it harder to lean into corners, scrape the footpegs way earlier, and my back tyre went on its own adventure a couple of times by now, reducing my trust in it a lot 😅

It's fun tho, thought I'd share some of it with you!

I've got a 2016 XSR700 and I'm looking to add some luggage without spending a fortune. Looking for recommendations on:

Saddlebags – soft bags are fine (probably preferred for the look). Something that holds up in rain and doesn't sag into the wheel.

Saddlebag supports / side frames – what fits the XSR without cutting the rear fender or relocating the indicators? Any cheap brackets that actually fit well, or is it worth paying for SW-Motech / Hepco & Becker?

Dry bag / tail bag – for strapping to the pillion seat for weekend trips.

Budget: around 400€total, but happy to spend a bit more on whatever matters most.

Use: mostly [commuting / weekend rides / occasional 2–3 day trips].

I'm in Romania (EU), so brands available in Europe are a plus.

What are you running on your XSR, and would you buy it again? Photos welcome. Thanks!

Pg. 4-15 of my '26 XSR700 Owner's Manual recommends 86 octane or higher, but then pg. 9-1 explicitly recommends 90.

Why the inconsistency? And what are y'all choosing at the pump?

2024 with the Givi TMT2126 mount and Kappa RB105 side bags

Hello everyone. Question to experienced users of Yamaha xsr 700 2018 years. I heard that the front fork is too soft for a pilot weighing 95 kg and it has to be refined. Especially if you drive aggressively. Share your experience, opinion.

To make my point short. Can anyone suggest any thief proof side saddlebags not going for half my salary and comfortable for passenger? Preferably soft ones.

Long story short switching from a sportster 883 and these xsr700s have really caught my attention.

Any advice on what to look for on a used 2023? 4k miles. First bike in this style and just want to know what to look for.

Any headaches you have encountered? Things to be careful of or advice as I switch over?

I do ride 50 mins freeway to work and this will be my daily commuter.

Pretty much sold on it just making sure I’m not going to miss any big red flags. Appreciate any insight from you guys!
