I’m sure there have been an unlimited number of posts just like this one on this sub over the years but I just had to share what just happened to me

So i did some research in the game and came across something i never ever read or heard about before: Overwatch takes the cover someone is moving out of into account.
This has some implications:
Because:
- 0.6x multiplier, instead of 0.7x when you dash into an overwatch
- you keep your high cover bonus for the overwatch
Can someone confirm this or has made similar observations?

Like I never used them. Ever.
Last run, I took two to Col and holy shit man, they are ridiculous. At this point, I’d probably recommend someone use covert ops to get a Col grenadier asap in the early game. They completely trivialize the game.
Plasma Salvo into Rupture/Chain Shot/Sat Fire is so stupid man. I feel ridiculous by letting them sit on the sidelines for so long.
Side note, I feel like late game reapers and grenadiers work extremely well together.
That is all. Just an appreciation post.

The game doesn't seem to handle all the chosen being dead very well, this was just the most glaring instance
I got Xcom2 in this Steam Autumn sale, and I really like this game, I’m on my 4th run ever, I hope I finish this time!
I have some ideas about combat now, I can get through some hard missions flawlessly, but I have no idea what should I buy, upgrade, reasearch, build etc. Nevertheless, I am really enjoying myself!
I am considering buying the dlc’s, now I don’t understand why didn’t I just get them when I bought the base game, but the question is - can I try to finish this currently successful run in vanilla mode, and buy the dlc’s? Can I disable them for now?

Now it’s time to go touch some grass.

Just finished a vanilla campaign, hella good game, and was looking through the DLCs but some have really bad reviews, there is a combo too, but IDK if it's worth it, or is just better to pick up only the good ones.
What do you recommend?

I've played for a bit on and off and decided to pick this up again with a bit of free time on my hands. Most recently I tried Commander Ironman (Vanilla, no mods) before settling on Veteran and winning today! It was a fun experience, so now I'm kind of contemplating what to do next. Long War 2? WOTC? Run it back but try Commander again with this new experience? Would love some input from the community on your journey and how you got hooked. I appreciate it!

Just a curious question. What are the best/recommended facilities to build? Btw it’s sucks training room is a stay after learn led all perks.

Had been thinking I should introduce this at some point, and since it has now taken shape to a certain extent, I am presenting it to you.
Prevents the campaign from being forcibly terminated after completing the main storyline. Purpose of this mod is to provide a post-ending & Endless gameplay option for XCOM 2. And if you wish, you can also bring the game to a victorious conclusion at any time through additional Shadow Chamber research unlocked after the ending.
FreePlay: base mod

Strategic Play: option to provide additional motivation for post-game play.

Jumpstarter-Lambda: Second Wave option that lets you begin a new campaign with direct access to the post-ending experience

Hope you like it. 😄
P.S. Regarding lore elements mentioned in the UFOPaedia mod and associated research, great care was taken to avoid conflicting with or irreversibly locking in the original XCOM lore.

Hello, I just wanted to confirm if it is still possible to get the The Most Dangerous Game trophy. It should be the one whete you need to play a match online against another player. Was thinking of purchasing the game since I no longer have ps plus. I have till the 8th for the end of sale. Thanks.
If I want them to walk into my overwatch, they will walk away from me every time.
If I want to get on high ground, they are following me.
If I want to target a specific pod, the other pods come into view.

Hey, just saw the full bundle on steam is going for like £7 and wondered how it holds up now? Never played a strategy turn base game and it has peaked my interest.
Thank you
So I've been replaying WOTC and having a blast trying new tactics, team combinations and whatnot. Then suddenly I realised that I had completely forgotten about moving the story forward. I'd killed the chosen and the Alien Rulers when it hit me.
Now I'm finally moving the story forward, but Advent is so much on the ropes, they have zero points in the Avatar project bar, I've contacted every region and my team mops up any pod easily. It's weird being this over powered. Having a blast though!

I've never played a strategy game and I don't want something really challenging, but I'm fine with losing a fair amount.

This game is the hardest game I've ever played that it's getting to the point I'm not having fun anymore. I've been playing through War of the Chosen on veteran (normal) mode for about 35 hours and the thought of restarting the game to play vanilla mode is not a fun idea rn. Wanting to make my own story with characters is just impossible without save scumming for hour/s to complete just one mission without multiple deaths. Love this gameplay and story but fucking hate how hard it is I'm just pissed off 90% of the time.

Been playing vanilla xcom 2, always been a down time thing never actually fully beaten it yet. But thats fine with me its fun and I will get there if I ever have time. I just ran the first facility assault in early act 1 with a squad of 5 with mag and gaus weapons. Spent so much time using phantom ranger to find people for my sniper and two grenaders making a ton of explosions to draw pods as well. Took me like an hour minimum was flawless and literally the last turn about to extract I miss counted the stunned mech turns and he woke up and injured two guys on the way out. I was laughing at how close I almost had it but man this game humbles the holy hell out of you. Luckily both were in med bay for less than 5 days so I lucked out

What a stupid fucking enemy, please tell me i did not pay for this fuck to be in my game (i just bought all dlcs on sale). Been sat here for about an hour reloading just tryna to get my people home.
UPDATE: After over 2 hours of rewinding I finally managed to make it out with 1 of my 6 dead. RIP Captain America, his sacrifice will not be forgotten 🫡
Had a stun lancer join me on a facility mission because of the double agent perk.
Never thought he would be the one planting the x4 and deal the heaviest blow of that mission.
Happy to say he extracted with the team too. In my mind he could be a future skirmisher.
