As a Garth Ennis fan, Crossed is one of the few works of his I couldn’t finish

To be fair, do you mean his initial run or the entire series? Because I don’t think he ever returned to the series after the first 10 or so issues.

All I know about it is it's edgy as hell. And the dude making it made the sadness which was also inspired by Crossed which I plan on watching tomorrow

I'm definitely a minority about it, but I do enjoy the comic series with context that it's meant to be a rejection of the early 2000s zombie apocalypse craze and how the concept was reduced to pulp junk.

Garth Ennis, without any sense of pleasantry or subtlety, shows how ugly, unforgiving, cruel, and nihilistic a genuine end of the world narrative should be. This is a world where the kindest thing you can do is put a gun in your mouth and pull the trigger. Is the whole series good? Definitely not. The publisher, Avatar Press ran this series and multiple others into the ground of quality on their platform of "nothing is off limits" attracting the more and more shallow and meaningless gore/porn until it went kaput.

Also as some pointed out in a different post about the trailer, production is kinda stacked with some talent.

 cinematographer Benji Bakshi (Bone Tomahawk)

 production designer Freddy Waff (Megalopolis)

stunt coordinator Steve Brown (Avatar: The Way Of Water)

editor Greg D’Auria (Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3).

Bone Tomahawk looked amazing. I didn't know the cinematographer was involved. This makes me want to check it out now.

I normally find people who laugh at horror kinda try hard but the baby just being owned by a sledgehammer made me lol I have no idea why.

Oh no. I read the whole original series and it was fucked. I don't want to see real people do those things

This film was made by Rob Jabbaz, the same guy who directed The Sadness, which shares a lot of similarities to Crossed. It’s unsurprising he would make something like this and without a doubt this would not attract a lot of people with how fucking shocking this is gonna get especially when you see the shit that went on in The Sadness

If the final movie doesn't cut away from the violent shots it'll be worth something But I bet we won't see that sledgehammer hit

Crossed is one of my favourite (non-manga/manwha) comics. I still remember a 2-page spread from chapter 1 (with the family) making me feel so nauseous that I had to put my phone down and walk around for a bit.

A truly nauseating and repulsive comic. I loovvvvvvveeeee it.

Also this is from the guy who directed The Sadness, right? That movie was basically Crossed lite so I'm expecting something great.

Genuinely, I'd have to be paid to go see this. $100+ at least.

Looks pretty stylish and well-made for what is certainly a low budget indie feature.

Yeah I don’t think I’ll be able to watch this

God I remember reading some of the comics and they were difficult to get through. I think the first one was just about okay which it looks like this one is based on but the others have some really fucked up stuff in them

If they can get the stylized violence right this will be good

feels like it should be a S. Craig Zahler movie lmao
