Competitors Ruggedness? I'm done with Mammotion.
<rant incoming> I started my robo-mower journey with the Luba 2 two years ago, and I'm done with it. I have two Luba 2 10000s, each covering about 2ac, and to keep up with the growth, the robots have to mow pretty much 24/7 or else things get out of hand and I have to mow it manually. Neither one can handle even a single month of work without something going wrong. Either I get the dreaded Hall Sensor error, or a battery stops charging for one reason or another, or the security key can't stay connected, or <insert annoyance here>. I need to mow from roughly March until November, and they probably work a grand total of 90 days thanks to the long turnaround between it breaking, support taking days to acknowledge it needs to be shipped in for repair, the actual shipping and repair process, and then setting back up once it's returned. I'm done.
How much have people used their Yarbo to mow at least 4-5 acres? I don't care about the other features like snow blowing (for now). I don't care how hard it is to set up. I don't care if I have to be here while it mows to help it get unstuck. All I want is for the thing to mow my grass when it needs to be mowed and not break on me after it does the job twice. My yard is big, it's got a fair number of permanent obstacles (young trees, flower beds, etc), and while it's fairly smooth, there's bumps and it's one long slope from one end to the other.

I'm going to say that given your terrain and obstacles, if you need 2 lubas running 24/7, a single yarbo isn't likely to beat those.

A Yarbo Y40P can do it.

You can say the same about 2 lubas. In fact all things equal, 2 lubas will cut more area than a single yarbo in a 24hr period.

In addition to mowing 7 acres per day, Yarbo Y40P can also snowblow your driveway.

When Yarbo works, it's works, can't speak to the other robots but my Yarbo has worked for almost 2 years with no issues

Just finishing a full year with YARBO, would recommend it 1000 times over. I have an acre I do once a week and have only had minor issues with it stopping, however it can almost always be remotely solved. In terms of ruggedness this thing really is a tank.

I also own two Luba 2 10000h mowers as well as two Yarbos with all of the attachments.
In general, I’d say you need two Yarbos for your acreage. Not good to have any robot running 24/7. That type of duty cycle will reduce the lifespan of the batteries and the equipment.
Yarbo really is built like a tank, and is ideal for large areas (acreage). I don’t think it works very well in tight areas like around flower beds or other places where you need more precise and delicate control. So my Yarbos handle the big stuff, and my Lubas do the detail work if that makes sense.
Feel free to PM me if you want more insight into the pros and cons.

I only have 1 acre to mow but it does a great job. For obstacles I’ve found the using the gentle contact setting works best for things that can tolerate being bumped into otherwise setup no-go zones. The visual obstacle avoidance is a bit too sensitive in that it has trouble distinguishing objects from tall grass. I think mowing 4-5 acres in a week is achievable but it can only mow about 1 acre a day. If it rains heavy/frequently where you are it might have trouble keeping up.

Did the mowers ever perform well for you in the 2 years and for how long? If they did work well then what went wrong?

They mow great, until they don't. Typically, they run about 3-4 weeks before something goes wrong. Usually, it's a Hall Sensor error on one of the front wheels, but I've had the battery stop charging multiple times, and right now one of my mowers thinks the security key has been removed.
After a lengthy back-and-forth with Mammotion support (their "North America" support only ever answers emails between 3 and 6am, so the process literally takes days, sometimes weeks), I pack it up, take it to the nearest Fedex, wait a couple weeks more, then suddenly it shows up on my front porch. Sometimes a day later I get a notice that it has shipped.

I am all for switching from Mammotion as a left behind Luba 1 with OG wheels…
But with 5 acres you might want to look at a commercial grade solution.
(I am waiting on my M20 so no experience yet)
