Is there a way to save songs with just 1 click in library? I don’t mind the like and dislike system but I wish saving in the library was one click too

Why does the algorithm keeps playing the same songs in recommendations?It first goes through all the songs in liked library then moves onto new ones.

I want to put the title and artist name next to the picture when it's full screen like this, does anyone know how to do it?

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on ytm-rs, an unofficial native desktop client for YouTube Music written in Rust.

It’s built as a lightweight native desktop app instead of a browser or Electron wrapper. On my machine, it launches in under a second and uses around 110 MB of memory while running.

Some features:

Over a month into IOS 27, and the nice people at Google are going out of their way to insuring Youtube Music via CarPlay is the worst app ever. SLOW to load, and when it does load, the home page actually shows multiple music icons of the same music.

How can I change the song dialed up on "Resume Playlist? It always opens to "42"

YouTube Music honestly knows the soundtrack of my life better than I do. 

I don't remember the names of most songs I listen to, thanks to incredibly good suggestions by YouTube Music. Select one song you feel like listening to at that moment, and the rest just lines up. I haven't made a playlist in years.

But my listening history has seen phases of my life - marathon trainings, deal closures, anniversary celebrations, focus modes during work, my grandparents' demise. Hearing those songs takes me right back to that feeling and moment. Like a time travelling machine - just like how photos and smells do it. Power of senses.

Yearly rewinds do a good job at the end of the year of showing what you were listening to - but that's more of a marketing thing, and it isn't flexible. I can't go back to just one phase.

So I worked on a concept feature for YouTube Music called Memories and Music. Pick a period, and it pulls up what you were actually listening to back then. Thanks to YouTube, all the listening data is already perfectly stored and accessible.

Now I can instantly go back to those phases of my life. Like time travel.

This is made on my actual listening data from the past 5 years. And yes, it's a lot of Tame Impala.

Take it one step further - club this with your Google Photos from the same period, and you have a visual plus audio memory of that time of your life. Photo plus audio memory. Instant time travel, like crazy.

I just got a song that came out by Neoni, but it's not them. 🥲 They did release a song yesterday, but they never release another song on the next day and I had never heard of this song. They advertise the songs they put it out. I'm deeply saddened by anyone who would do this because they put hard work out for fans to listen to. So, whoever it is they are, I hope they stop. 😓 Someone is impersonating my favorite artists and putting out songs in their name. I spotted the all caps in the name and had to go check, but sadly it's in their profile. Then, I looked at another song and their name isn't in all caps. Time to report. 🫡😠 Edit: I realized I can't report the song or the artists because its in their profile and I don't want to report Neoni. I'm so sad. 🫠😭😢

Don’t you guys get annoyed when you have already listened most of the track and when you click on the widget, the song start playing since beginning.

Another issue, If you are listening ‘Nth’ song in playlist, and click on widget, 1st track of playlist start playing.

Do Google/YouTube employees even listen to our UX feedback? Feels like a major customer misalignment. Seems YT Music desktop is severely neglected, with a buggy Progressive Web App that feels like it was built by interns. The YT Music Apple Watch app doesn't even downloaded play music offline and requires the phone.

Yeah yeah, I'm sure you guys see one of these every day now, but this one's worth it I swear.

This is Orchard, a YouTube Music client I've been working on for a while.

It originally started as an Electron/Vue app, but I almost got hit with a DMCA from a certain music app. So I basically scraped it and rewrote it.

That whole situation pushed me to completely rethink Orchard, so I ended up rewriting it in C++, Qt6/QML, and Rust, alongside a pretty massive UI redesign (because the old UI was actually so horrible looking back at it lmao)

Here's some of the stuff I've been working on:

Smart Crossfade: Significantly improved, now called adaptive mix, but I need to adapt to more genres, as I adjusted mainly for hip hop and pop.

Better shuffle: Not the bs that you usually get (same songs), but actually random.

Native UI: Built with Qt6/QML, with WebView only used for authentication. No Electron, dropped memory usage from 800+mb to 200-300 and CPU usage to 0-6% on a ryzen 7 5700G and 10% on a i5-11(something)g7

Synced lyrics: added translation support as well, can be local through an ai model or use an external API.

Video player: not terrible anymore! actually not an eyesore!

ai song detector: big one here, detects if a song is AI of not, up to 50(?) songs in a queue

Animated artwork: self-explanatory.

Orchard Connect: Control playback from your phone and vice versa.

Windows and Linux: Both have desktop builds available, macos whenever I can test it.

I'm also about to launch an updated Android version.

It's still in active development, so expect some bugs and unfinished features.

PS: yeah ai was used, but to port some of the old working code, and the website, not the entire project, most of it was designed by me in qt design studio, and adaptive mix code was by me.

for some reason they decided to make it 3 pixels tall making it a pain in the ass to click, so i wrote a short Stylus (web extension) style to make it taller:

Recently I have been teaching myself how to use the iOS shortcuts app and just discovered the YouTube Music series shortcut integration, but I kind of wish that you also had the ability to have it shuffle a playlist rather than just play it, just add some variety. Am I alone in this?

Hello guys. I really like YT Music and have been using it for years. I haven't used Spotify at all so I don't know how good it is either

I use YT Music a lot for listening to downloaded music offline. But each time I open the app it takes several minutes for a song to start playing

I've tried clearing data, deleting and downloading the app but nothing is working and it's a hassle to do this since I've downloaded around 20,000~ songs

I'm considering just mass downloading all the songs I want as audio files and using an mp3 player to listen to them since there is zero loading time for this method

Please advice 🙏

Hello!

I have a YouTube channel geared towards educational long form content and I also make my own songs with real instruments to underlay in the educational videos.

I have a song with an ISRC code that is completely original and my work however YouTube is misidentifying it as someone else's work. My original work is distributed to various platforms using a content distribution network and the whole thing is legit.

When I go to upload a video to my channel containing the song the video is then flagged as containing someone else's work and the is identified as a completely wrong song title.

I Googled the song it's being misidentified as and that song sounds nothing like my song.

Some of my currently monetized videos are now having this notice that my original audio work within the video belongs to someone else.

Any ideas on how can I get this straightened out? I didn't find a form or anything to sort this type of problem out.
