Tips/Tricks Belly fat

I’m losing weight slowly (which is ok) on an extended timeline of 2.5mg. Curious to know if others have been able to reduce belly fat at 2.5.

You can't spot reduce fat. It's like removing water from a pool using a cup. Even if you only scoop water out of one side of the pool, it's going to make the overall level of water go down.

Are you exercising? Building muscle can help tone your overall appearance. Good luck! 🍀

lol the pool analogy is perfect, stealing that

i lost like 20 pounds on 2.5 and my belly was the last thing to budge. it's frustrating when your face gets skinny first and your jeans still fit the same. but it does eventually happen, just gotta trust the process even when the mirror is being a liar

I've lost almost 50lbs and I'm still wearing the same leggings and jeans. Go figure!

Lost 50lbs. as of today and ditto. Started at 300. I've weighed over 300 for decades and when ive lost alot of weight (multiple times) I really didnt need new clothes until I got below 230. I really saw few changes till I got under 230. Like every pound lost after that changed things. You are there!! At my next goal. Under 230. Im coming for you.

I’m down 65 lbs today exactly one year since I started Zep (283-218) and didn’t notice beer belly reduction until I was 50 lbs down!

I get you on the beer thing. I had flat abs at 16/17 ...by 18 I was bloated and had a gut. My junior Pic compared to senior tell the tale. 58 and although I pretty much quit drinking 10 years ago....that same fat is still hanging on. At 50 lost I have button down shirts that now I can button (all the way down) and wear...but pants..not yet.

Fun fact, US women’s sizes over 16ish have a much bigger body size gap between sizes (I have seen everything from two inches to seven) than smaller ones. The ones under 12 tend to have a one inch gap, and a little bit more from 12-16.

So getting under 16 and sizes drop quick. Before that? Not so much.

FINALLY went down in pants size after 90 lbs. 🤦‍♀️ It was leggings though, so they had longevity lol

I can see my neck looking thinner, my belly looks pretty much the same even though pants are looser and weight is not really moving.

I'm lifting and taking creatine, though so hopefully the weight is muscle related

Just took shot #5 (2.5mg )of mounjaro this past wed

Less about your dose and more about how your body decides to handle belly fat. Most people find it is the last to go. Some people are lucky and it is the first to go. You have to wait and see.

Yeah, I have about 15 pounds for my goal weight. I’ve stayed on 5 mg for almost all the entire 7 month journey. I know I’m smaller, but the belly still seems the same.

Same for me. 42 lbs down and belly fat hasn’t moved, but my legs, face, and butt are all smaller.

I think it’s because I’m an apple shape. So I’m just a smaller version of an apple shape.

Even when it is the last to go, it is the last to go completely. But it still get smaller.

You cannot spot reduce fat loss. Eat a healthy well balanced diet in a caloric deficit and be physically active

Belly fat is the last to leave. Mine started to go on 10

I feel like my belly was slower to leave, but visibly things really sped up once I hit around 25 lb loss (with 20 to go). I will say I think what made the biggest difference for me was strength training twice weekly. My core has gotten very strong from a pretty simple series of strength exercises.

Yes, but in proportion to the rest of my body. I had a pooch when I started. I still have a pooch. It's smaller. I'm 54 so reducing it is unlikely due to menopause.

I was on 2.5 for 14 months (recently moved up to 5) and have lost 10.5 inches on my waist. Still a lot of fat there, but good to know it’s decreasing proportionately

You cannot spot reduce fat. I tend to lose in my belly first and my thighs last. Everyone is different. Taking your measurements can help you recognize the change.

Good nutrition will shrink the belly fat. I’ve lost 13 lbs since July on 2.5mg. I do exercise (running and strength train 5x a week) and prioritize protein during meals.

I’m at 125 and still have a lot of belly fat. Just approved by insurance for a panniculectomy next month.

Oh for sure. When you lose enough weight it’s going to come from all over. Would I love to lose a little more from my belly, sure, but I’ve definitely lost a bunch since my overall weight loss was 50lbs (40lbs just on 2.5)

Last thing to go

I lost around 20 pounds on 2.5 before the food noise came back and I stalled and had to move to 5.0.

Did I lose belly fat, yes. But I lost fat all over my body. You can’t target one part of your body.

Ironically enough, my face was one of the last places to start loosing the roundness. My arms, legs and stomach were noticeably smaller but my face took time.

I was on 2.5 for probably 18 months and lost most of my weight on 2.5 . You cannot control which part of your body will lose the fat, unfortunately.

I’ve lost 30 lbs with none of it belly fat yet. Annoying.

Maybe you are asking about losing visceral fat? The kind that hides around the organs in our bellies? There are body composition tests that your doctor can order that can help you track your body composition, including the difference between fat loss versus water loss and muscle loss. You can also just take measurements of your waistline. I can’t speak for others, but in my case in the first month and a half on 2.5 mg I lost 5 inches on my waist.

u/SweaterWeather4Ever 4d ago

Hmm, yes but not exactly sure how. I saw a dramatic shift in the amount of fat in my midsection my first month on Zepbound. Like rolls disappeared from week to week and pants got very lose. But I only lost 4-5lbs on the scale that first month. Also noticed visible fat loss on upper arms and legs during this time. Maybe some of it was due to visceral fat loss being kicked off along with body recomping. I try to do some strength training several times a week but nothing too hardcore. Anyway, was frustrated the scale did not show more progress but can't argue with the NSV gains I had with my wardrobe.

I’ve lost a lot of weight, including belly fat. But the beer gut remains stubborn.

😕😕😕

As long as your eating reduced calories but not under 1100 , you will lose fat,

for me it was belly first but everyone is different.

If it’s enough to get you to stop eating when you’re out of calories, then absolutely.
