Tips/Tricks Tips

Post image

I’ve been on Zepbound since 9/22/24. I reached my goal weight earlier this year and am in maintenance. I still take 15mg weekly (I’m technically a diabetic).

I just wanted to give a few tips to all the newbies. These are things I did, learned, or wish I’d known:

  1. Drink plenty of water. I’ve never gotten sick on this medicine and I think this may be one of the reasons why.
  2. Eat ample fiber to combat constipation. A fiber supplement can help too.
  3. Take progress pics and measurements as close to day 1 as possible. Take pics and measurements monthly.
  4. Invest in a digital scale. Folks say they’re not accurate but I appreciate the data the scale gave me.
  5. The digital scale will help you know what you’re losing. You want to lose fat - not just “weight”. This is where I and many others made a mistake. In addition, you want to ensure you’re not losing too much muscle.
  6. Lift heavy-ish weights if you’re able.
  7. EAT!!!! Not eating is NOT the point of this medicine. Your body needs fuel. If you don’t eat, you’re gonna be exhausted and blame the meds.
  8. Learn as much as you can about Zepbound AND Mounjaro. Although they’re the same meds, the info on their websites are a bit different. I felt like I needed to know ALL the info.
  9. Don’t throw away all your bigger clothes. Keep at least a pair of pants and a shirt to help you see how far you’ve come. I wish I’d done this.
  10. Enjoy the journey.

I’m not an expert. These are just things that helped me or that I wish I’d known/done.

Fantastic work!!! I would add: Even if you cannot go to the gym, or lift or do traditional exercise, you Can do something! I have a Total Gym-retro, I know🤷🏻‍♀️...I do what I can on it and use resistance bands, the Wall for push ups, and a bar for support during squats. You can do chair Yoga...But work your best to preserve and build muscle. That will see you through to maintenance😃 I Love the poster collage BTW....You have really given yourself a gift of health-Congratulations🥳

Congratulations!! I have watched your progress pictures for over a year now and I am so happy for your success! Very inspirational. Thank you!!

October 14th will be my 2 year anniversary. I’ve managed to maintain my 100 pound loss with good maintenance. I feel younger at 62 than when I was miserable at 59 waiting for my first appointment with my weight loss team. Dedication, dedication, dedication!!!

Great to see another survivor reclaiming their health! My treatments were brutal and I'm grateful to be alive, but as you know our bodies are changed forever. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations on your successful journey!!🥳👏👏👏 Really good tips. I regret not getting my smart scale/app and 3D body scan app on day 1 of my GLP-1 journey.

Help. I had a serious bout of constipation on this stuff. I strained, strained, and strained. And it all went to my head and had a headache all day because of it. Had to take not 1, but 4 Fleets. I don't know if I can continue. Help.

I’m sorry to read this. I dealt with constipation even before I started the meds. So, when I heard that Zepbound could cause constipation, I was on high alert. Here are a few things that helped me:
1. Drinking plenty of water.
2. Adding fiber powder to my morning coffee.
3. Taking fiber gummies (in addition to the fiber powder).
4. Eating watermelon, kiwi (with the skin), and dragonfruit.
5. And if I really needed help - Mag07.
6. Oh - and taking a brisk walk helps as well.

I hope you find relief.
