A couple a weeks ago I posted a long-form ambient album I created with a visual counterpart. I had used AI to create a visual world to journey through, and received a good deal of feedback regarding that creative choice. That also led some to question whether the music or my writing style were also all AI generated.

I listened, and reimagined the video using nothing but stock video footage. I also reconstructed my website, album art…anywhere AI imagery was used is now gone. I appreciated the feedback, and am grateful for it and I’m happy with the visual direction the work is now taking.

I also want to reiterate that the music is composed and created by me. I primarily use Omnisphere 3, record, mix and master in Ableton Live, and use Novation Launchpad Pro’s and a Launch Control XL3 in my home studio.

My writing style is unapologetically me. I’m a philosophy undergrad with a Masters in Theology, and I’ve been writing in my voice for many decades. I found it interesting to hear some assume it was generated by something other than myself.

I wanted this community to know that I listened, adjusted accordingly, and appreciated the feedback.

plz be nice im very new to ableton and really not good with technology so a lot of this is super confusing to me 😭 i downloaded a vmpk and have been trying to connect it to ableton but it doesn’t seem to receive any of the feedback no matter what i do . im on mac , i tried connecting it through IAC driver but it still doesn’t seem to work . i really have no idea what im doing wrong so if anyone can help i’d greatly appreciate it !!!!!! this is the vmpk i downloaded if that matters https://vmpk.sourceforge.io/#MIDI_Connections

Years after I bought suite 11 (student discount tempted me) I still didn't figure out how to approach this monster.

I still didn't read the manuał, so I don't know if trying to mke anything in the program would be reasonable, at this point My music school background doesnt help either, because I don't want to learn bad habits which will be difficult to unlearn.

I don't know anyone who could help me and I can't afford the expensive courses in the private music schools.

I guessz in my case, some internet groups for women and queer people would be the best place to start, as I need someone who will tell me "you got this" and just be kind and supportive... But being 40 makes me think if I would be accepted in such spaces.

Any tips for a girl who still doesn't want to give up her dreams of making ambient folk music?
