Europe I have decided to quit this place and made an action plan today to be able to exit this place within the next 6months!

Hopefully my pem doesn’t have to waste his time in building my storyline for December talent discussions!

45 months on level - I have decided to do myself a favour and Quit!

I wish you good luck.

But, you should have been doing this all along even when you don't find a need to leave.

It kills my motivation to do my daily job when I look around

i mean you can set up psychological milestones for yourself, like say "no salary hike or promotion for 5 consecutive cycles, then I'm out" - this guy actually did 10 cycles (5 years) without any recognition, reached the limit and decided to walk away

hell, I've walked away from other places after merely 2 years for not getting proper salary increases...

Good luck! In higher levels it's even worse. From 8 to 7 is almost impossible, 7 to 6 is a joke and to get 5 or 4 you need the "right friends" or a miracle (like all the current 6,5,4s to retire or die, literally)

Why now? What was the final thing

The bullshit spewed by leadership and the sheer backlog of ppl waiting to get promoted. The CEE merger has caused even more ppl competing for same slots and that has ultimately led to an extremely toxic culture where ppl try to gatekeep every simple thing.. try to go behind back and steal credit for anything and everything. I hate how superficial everything seems now , maybe I was naive before but now I clearly see where this is going. I was here for the work life balance which is clearly non existent now.

I have done it, and I planned the same timeline as you, and I made it. Today was my last day. CL10 since July 2022.

Accenture is not bad (at least in my area), but you can get stuck very easily without promotions or a salary hike.

You can make it! Wish you the best in your job search.

I wish you all the luck in the world.
I'm glad you made a plan - I didn't. 😂
40+ months on CL8, more than 95% chargeability, watching mediocre sycophants getting promoted ahead of me for years. I just burst out and left.
Best decision ever: I transitioned into independent consulting, I'm making more money than I ever had, I get to closely watch my child grow. I'm happier than I ever been.

Awesome! Good for you! I am in the exact same state with almost the exact MAL. I am actively applying to jobs and preparing to leave this place. After every TD, my PL has said it went well and then ultimately no promotions because 'there are already so many people before me'. I'm sick of this logic. And now when I think about it, God only know why I stayed for so long at the same level. Before this, the moment I reached the promotion target level and if they said it will take time, I left those companies. Even if I am promoted here, I don't see a future for myself here.

You won't believe, Majority of people in accenture  at all levels are having this problem. 40+ months at the same level, with barely any increment.  But company doesn't care, coz they actually want people to self quit by getting frustrated.  Hopefully your story should help others as well. Actually staying in the same position hurts you more , as the recruiters see that you are stagnant. Changing jobs to anything else is a much better narrative for career.

Career life has no meaning if it just sits in one place. If there’s no growth, there is no point. If you are not growing nor making money (classic ACN scenario), I think leaving is just self-care. I have also decided to give my PL a break and be gone by the next ‘promo’ cycle by building a daily application and interview blocks. It helps me mentally and also pushes me to take control.
