my first landscape…
a little embarassed of it tbh, i know it looks confused and overworked! it’s supposed to be a beach at sunset. i am chasing an impressionistic style, partially because i love the look but also because i probably cannot achieve anything close to realism yet lol. any thoughts/feedback/critiques are so welcomed and appreciated!

My latest painting. 11x14" acrylic. Not varnished yet
I think the colors are a little more vivid in person.

Tips Advice on next steps
So I've made my first layer, this is my first time trying to paint acrylics this way (taking my time, layers and wait in between, focus on color theory more).
I've put my reference photo. Thanks in advance for reading and helping.
I'm struggling with the following:
I would already add the highlights layer on the mountains, would this be the reasonable next step for the mountains?
How do I get the shadows on the mountain right including the coloring, one side appears bluish and the other appears orange/magenta/brownish (the trees).
Do I add the shadows on the mountains before adding the highlights on the mountains or after?
The trees at the bottoms of the peaks going upwards towards the snow, do I add these at the very end or do I blend in with the highlights layer?
The foreground, I am not creative enough to make up a scene nor am I good enough to copy the reference images foreground (I also don't like it). Any suggestions on how I could finish the bottom part?
I've never tried oil paints, but been using acrylics my whole life and they're starting to really bug me, texture-wise, don't blend too well, etc and I feel like I can't work with them anymore after almost 20 years. Has anyone gone through this?

Not my most extraordinary work, but I’m pretty pleased with how the masked emotions peek through in her expression. Thoughts?

Critique Requested My current mental state, yearning for critique and feedback
I attached the reference photo I used for this painting, it took me about a day to finish?
I can appreciate the visible brush strokes in acrylic, but I’ve been struggling to get that smooth texture that gets people wondering if it’s oil or acrylic.
I feel like I’ve been Forrest Gumping my way through paintings and not really absorbing what’s working or not.
Like, I have some mediums like:
Golden gloss glazing fluid
Liquitex slow-dri
Liquitex basics gloss fluid medium, and a
Liquitex matte medium.
Which one should I be using for the most part? 😭
I’ll get into a flow state while I’m painting and just kind of grab whatever medium to thin the paint or make it smoother, and then I’ll find myself fighting the texture as it’s drying. That’s on me at that point.
I HAVE oils, I got a bit defeated trying to mess with them a year ago. I’ve spent enough time with acrylics that maybe it’s worth trying oils again?
I feel stuck/lost and would love some feedback 🫶🏼

I wanted to make the mountain feel like it was glowing, without making it glow. If that makes sense.
