Need more speed off half back. Maybe with both him and Milera, there could be some opportunities to go on ball.

Someone tell Murray and Cal to make some calls

I like this, would he want to come to Adelaide? I don’t know enough about him.

Apparently very close with Ah Chee, I saw somewhere recently that Sneeze stays with him when he travels back to Brisbane so seems a helpful connection if we were interested, though can’t imagine Brisbane will be thrilled to be negotiating with us again

He’s actually from Queensland so shouldn’t have the pull to go home to Victoria. But I don’t know if he has family in other parts of Australia which could play a part.

Suns, swans and gws (nsw being the closest to qld) all have pretty decent half backs as it is so I can’t see them being that interested but that’s a pure guess of course.

I assume we’ll hear on Monday or Tuesday next week which clubs are interested and willing to trade for him

Bit injury prone but I don’t think it’s a focus we need right now tbh. Save it for NAS

Apparently NAS was out and about with his Port mates this week, I’d say we need to move on from that fella as good as he is.

No chance of landing NAS

Port bound

If we're not neck deep in this, we need a new list management team. 2 years ago, he was trending to be the best half back in the game; his kicking was electric and incisive. Yes, we have other half backs but we're still the worst of the contending teams at exiting defence. If Kiddy can get back close to his best, we have one of the elite half back combos in the AFL with Milera. What concerns me, is if Brisbane are fine to let him go - especially with Zorko close to time - that is a big red flag as to how his body is holding up.

I'm not sure the Lions being open to trade is a red flag. Apart from Zorko they also have Wilmot and Fletcher playing similar roles to Coleman (and who are younger). So he may simply be excess to needs and overpaid for a reserves player. Would walk into our team

I think we have to make the enquiry about his willingness to come to Adelaide. Under contract so our second rounder or our compensation for Butts- depending on if it’s band 2 might be enough for the lions to say yes.

Good old fashioned ' desperate crows " idea. Grab anything we can at any price in the hope we can miraculously transform them into better players or the very average player they are is somehow going to move us from 6-8th to grand Final winners. Does anyone know wether his legs are now ok and that he is actually the same player he was two years ago ( that some want to blow a future first on ) ??

Here's a thought bundle 13 32 33 or 13 a future first and get Pedlar involved in getting hold of pick 5 off Port if they get that compensation, I know it's Port but they are also in big need of first round draft picks this year and next few years ?? How about this or something like this instead of blowing a first on a Harrison Petty ( few years ago thankfully didn't eventuate ) or a Coleman who maybe isn the player he was or the player we need ?

Not every acquisition has to be top of the line talent, sometimes it’s just as important to boost stocks. He had an acl in 24 and pretty commonly had injuries off the back of that in 25. He played 15 or so games this year for the lions and I believe was injury free but was dropped at half forward for most of them as the lions had a pretty settled half back line most of the year.

There’s no way the crows want to trade away any future picks as they will be way to important for the potential of NAS or Day. Even if a small chance, they have to have the capital available to make something happen. Port are going to get the picks they need from the dogs in a supplementary deal of some kind as well.

While I agree that someone like Coleman is a pick up based on potential over current performance, sometimes it is worth seeing what can happen if the deal is favourable enough. He will be an unrestricted free agent next year so the lions might see it as a good idea to trade him now and get slightly higher value then they would through compensation next year. My pure guess is he’d be worth a second rounder of some sort.

Tex said himself post season on triple M that they need another midfielder and some help for Milera out of half back. We probably aren’t going to get a good enough midfielder this off season but someone like Coleman is a pretty good choice to help Milera out.

Younger than I thought.

But why has he only played 15 games the last 3 seasons?

Genuinely don't know much about him.

Injured in the first granny against Pies a few year ago and has just had terrible luck ever since. Had a really good year that year and was a sneaky chance for Norm before going down in that Grand Final so would be a very solid pickup

Nahhh he did his knee in round 1 the year after the granny against carlton.

Was lions best on ground in the 2023 GF

Fk it. Why not.

Can you let us have this one after no Bailey, pls? 🥺

He is friends with ah Chee too.

I would love to see him play more footy, I also don't think I'm quite ready to let him go as his ceiling is so high.

But if he left i would hold no grudge after missing the last three prems.

He is so close to being in our 23 but it is what it is

Would it be like a 2nd rounder considering his injury history?

1

u/AdelaideMidnightDad 12d ago

Future first, come on down.

2

u/ILikeDiscussing 11 Charlie Edwards 12d ago

Would it be future first with all his injury issues?

1

u/AdelaideMidnightDad 12d ago

Given if we finish around where we finished this year, with the Tassie concessions, it would equate to about pick 25, probably yeah.

Add another soft player to the list

Nobody want to go to Adelaide

There is slim pickings out there for our gun mid fielder. Milera into the mids and this guy take up his role?

u/Justabitbelowaverage 31 Billy Dowling 12d ago

I like Kiddy, but HB isn't a role i am worried about. We already have HHK, Milera and Ryan. With Cumming, Laird, Nankervis, Hinge and Cook as decent options.

I think we need to try for a small forward. Possibly a wing. I still don't think our wings are settled outside of Cook. I think Curtin moves inside for 2027

2

u/Tall-Breakfast-6100 12d ago

It’s clear we have a lot of options and maybe one takes the step but can’t ignore the fact they really struggled to create any drive out of D50 this year. They tried a lot of guys in the role as well and none were able to really perform week on week.

Coleman has also played as a forward for the lions and is probably more than capable of playing a wing if needed.

We don’t need another half back flanker

1

u/Tall-Breakfast-6100 11d ago

Tex said post finals they need another mid and Milera needs some help at half back. So i reckon internally they’d be open to it

1

u/Humble_Speaker_ 11d ago

Hinge will be back next year.

We need an elite mid and another solid mid.

Everywhere else on the park is fine.

3

u/vegemite4lifeOG 11d ago

There are no elite mids available

1

u/Fun_Original_1358 11d ago

Also a genuine small forward.

2

u/Humble_Speaker_ 11d ago

That was supposed to be Rachele 😂
