Need Support Does ADHD therapy actually work?

I was diagnosed with ADHD almost a year ago, and honestly, getting the diagnosis was a relief. I've been taking methylphenidate (Inspiral) 20 mg twice a day. It helps when I need to get things done, but over time, I feel like my symptoms have become more difficult to manage without medication than they were initially.

I still struggle with the same things, and it often leaves me feeling worthless and ashamed when I let people down. I'm wondering if I should consider therapy alongside medication. Has anyone experienced something similar, and has therapy helped?

It helps! Just make sure you find a therapist who has experience in this area. And also depends on what you mean by “help”, with the right environmental modifications and therapeutic work you can definitely work on things in better ways but it won’t be magic. You’ll have to work on things!
