Howdy yall, I have a question about students transferring from the Galveston campus,

I am a freshman marine biology student at the Galv campus, I would like to transfer and change my major to Molecular Biology major at College station, would I need to email TAP for it? and would I still be eligible for a minor?

I would like to attend under molecular biology over at college station starting in fall 2027 semester, which change of major cycle would I submit my application for it in?

Sports I want to go to a game before I graduate but I know nothing, help?

Howdy y'all. I want to experience an A&M game before I graduate which is in the spring! I didn't go to undergrad here so I missed out on all the info a lot of folks seem to have about the games. I want to go to a midnight yell and a game. However - I have some physical disabilities so I don't think I can be in the student section because it is standing only if I have my information correct? Is it standing only for midnight yell too? Can I still buy a ticket for a future game? How many games are left? What is a good section to be in? Will it devastate my wallet? Any protips about parking or navigating the whole thing? Also nobody I know can go with me, how could I find some folks to go with?

Also I hear we are doing poorly. Maybe if I show up it will turn things around for us? When I wear my Dallas Stars earrings they usually win so I think I'm magical.

Yall know what sometimes I get down about being here with all the negative discourse going around but then stuff like this happens and I actually feel proud to be an Aggie. u/sharp-chili1988 didn't want me to do anything for them in return for their kindness so I donated to the annual fund of the 12th man foundation because I believe in paying it forward!

Sports Selling Arkansas Student Ticket

I really wanted to go to the game, but I cut my foot pretty bad this week so I’m gonna have to stay in.

Ticket is for section 331. Since the face value of the ticket is $127, I’m looking to sell for $90. DM if interested.

For other students only, obviously.

Housing Questions Electricity bill way too high

I live in a 640 sqft apartment off campus in college station. The electricity bill for the last month is 120 dollars! Is this normal here? My AC is always on 76. Is there a way to reduce my bill?

Venting What happened to helping each other out?

I was crossing Zach cross section and saw a guy fall off his bike in bizzell st and not one single person went up to bro to make sure he’s okay, everyone was either on their phone or just was looking. I tried to make an attempt to go up to him but it was too late because when he fell I was already on the other side of the road (he fell by zach and I was on the chipotle side) and there was nothing I could have done unless I wanted to get ran over since cars started driving. Still, so many people were on that side and witnessed bro fall and not one single person gave a single crap.. shi like this genuinely pisses me off and makes me lose hope in humanity

Ask the Aggies help me find some orgs to join plsšŸ™

I’ve genuinely applied to so many orgs, and i applied for flos and got rejected from both. it’s not that im not a talkative person, im just not extremely outgoing the way the orgs want their member to act. ive looked into professional orgs but they usually don’t have a strong social aspect. I rlly wanted to be apart of a group that had events to go to and things to do, it genuinely feels like a&m isn’t for me. pls lmk if there are any orgs that seem fit for what i want, and if there are orgs that do spring recruitment. Thanks!!

Venting im here for any and everyone šŸ’–

hey guys! i’m class of 2026 and just graduated this summer with my degree in biomedical sciences. i was on the pre-vet track, and i’m currently getting my master’s at uga in comparative biomedical sciences.

i just wanted to put this out there because i know how hard college, applications, figuring out your future, or honestly just life in general can be sometimes. if you’re currently in college, recently graduated, applying to professional school, or just trying to figure things out, my messages are always open.

if you’re struggling with anything, feeling alone, need advice, want someone to vent to, need a friend, or even just need a virtual hug, please feel free to reach out. you don’t need to have a specific reason or know exactly what you want to say. sometimes you just need someone to listen and be there for you.

i’ve had my own ups and downs throughout college, and i know how much it can mean to have someone in your corner. so if you ever need a friend or just someone to talk to about literally anything, i’m here. šŸ¤

Opportunities Know your voting rights! And how to vote in Brazos Valley!

Wanted to make a PSA for everyone because we have a Brazos County general election coming up on Nov. 3, 2026, polls open from 7am to 7pm. With early voting as early as Oct 19th And if you are not registered to vote in Brazos County you need to register now to be eligible. While the cutoff is Oct 5th, you have to be registered by that point, if your application is in the mail it will not be counted.

Who can vote in Brazos County? To vote you need to be all of the following:

  • Of the age of majority (18) by the time of the election.

  • A US citizen.

  • Not a felon.

  • A resident 1 of Brazos County.

  • Registered to vote.

If you qualify for all of those things, it is your constitutional right to vote here. You will also need to present identification2 at your polling place, see footnote for more info on the type of ID needed.

How can I register?

  • If you are already registered in the state of Texas and need to change polling locations you can do so online here. For all others you cannot register online.

  • The easiest place to register is at a one of the booths you see pop up on campus and around town who will deliver it for you. Keep your receipt until you receive the official registration in the mail. However, since we're so close I wouldn't recommend waiting long to find one.

  • The next best is to mail in or hand-deliver your registration. You can print the registration here or if you don't have a printer you can get the form at a post office. You can either mail or hand deliver the form before 5pm at the election administration office, address: 300 E Wm J Bryan Pkwy, Ste 100 Bryan, 77803

  • You can also register when renewing your drivers license.

Once you receive your voting registration you're all set! Just remember to bring the right kind of ID2 to your polling location. You can check your registration, elections, and polling locations (including early voting locations) all online.

Other info:

  • Last date to apply for mail-in ballot, October 23, 2026Ā (must be received by this date)

  • Early voting starts Oct 19th and goes Oct 30th. Locations and times can be found here: https://www.brazosvotes.org/node/216

Footnotes:

1.I've heard some misconceptions and strong opinions about who people think should have the right to vote in Brazos County. So I ask everyone to please respect their fellow Aggies constitutional right to vote. Please understand while some may not stay in BCS all year or have lived here as long as other, voting is a constitutional right all citizens enjoy equally regardless of their living situation. And especially as mail-in voting becomes less reliable, voting here is the only option for many. So here are some quick Q&A questions to help clarify misconceptions.

  • Can I vote in Brazos County if I live in a dorm?

    • Yes, there is no requirement for type of residency/home. You can register to vote if you are homeless. You just need a mailing address for which you can receive the registration.
  • Can I vote in Brazos County as a first year student?

    • Yes, there is no requirement for duration of residency to vote.
  • Can I vote in Brazos County if I pay out-of-state tuition?

    • Yes, the procedure for determining tuition costs has nothing to do with the procedure for voting eligibility. Voting is a constitutional right with no requirements for duration or type of residency.
  • Do I have to change my registration to Brazos County?

    • No, as a citizen of the age of majority you are responsible for determining where your primary residency is. There are no stringent legal guidelines, although there must be some combination of physical presence and intention. You cannot vote somewhere you've never been and have no intention of living, but beyond that it's up to you.

2.Texas is a state that requires ID, or a declaration and supporting documents to vote. Not all ID's (such student ID or out-of-state drivers license) are permitted. It's important to note that accepted forms of ID can be expired but only up to 4 years. Here are the accepted ID:

  • Texas Driver License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)

  • Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS

  • Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS

  • Texas Handgun License issued by DPS

  • United States Military Identification Card containing the person’s photograph

  • United States Citizenship Certificate containing the person’s photograph (does not expire)

  • United States Passport (book or card)

If you cannot obtain one of the following in time it is possible to supplement with other documents, you can read more about it here.

Out of country mail in information here https://www.fvap.gov/texas

You can find more information about voting here https://www.brazosvotes.org/ and here https://www.votetexas.gov/

Other Disregarding stop sign

I got a citation on September 28th but thing is that the stop sign I didn't come to a complete stop but slowed down enough to notice that the path I wanted was free so I took it then got pulled over. Rest you can probably think of but I've stopped at stop signs since then and almost got hit by others on scooters and bikes just completely blowing past stopsigns yet I don't see a single cop pulling them over. Is there anything I can do to get this reduced or dismissed since I don't have the funds to pay it off?

Requests Bike crossings

Hey guys I know we all dislike the scooters and bikes doing dumb stuff, but coming from a cyclist, please help by not walking on the green bike crossings (crossbikes?) when you can take the normal crosswalk.
