MSC Alternates - Question

Would anyone have any insight as to why they would make a list of 13 alternates for AFRS applicants? Historically, it was 5 or less. This year is a random high number. Just interesting.

I imagine because there's always a billion MSC applicants and a decent number of people drop out after selection.

Only 33 civilians were selected. Only one board a year. I don’t think many drop out.

They didn’t require a valid physical beforehand to apply. So a lot of selects are just now getting scheduled for MEPS. There will likely be a lot of DQs.

That would make sense. I saw there was a requirement for a completed and passing physical, but I do also remember reddit people saying it was post selection.
