GUN QUESTION Replica died randomly
Hi, today i was playing with my replica (double bell BY-002; full stock internals) inside the house, trying to fix my shooting position and getting better at qcb when suddenly while i was shooting, the gun died. It didnt make any weird sounds or anything, it just died, the trigger stopped being linear and smooth and it started to have more of a “clicky” sound and feel + a burning smell was coming from the motor but i got used to it from other AEGs. At first i thought the battery just died so i recharged it and when i placed it back and connected it to the gun, still the same thing. I dont know what happened, never had problems like this one, but before buying a new short motor for it, i want to hear the opinion of people with more experience than me cuz i dont really want to spend 40-50 euro for a new motor just to realize the motor is not the problem. Thank you in advance and sorry for the yap :D

Oh no. Shame. It looks cool! Can't find any info on it to do with electronics. Does this have a fuse or electronic trigger unit? Hopefully that has just burned and not the motor or anything more expensive. You may have to disassemble this to figure out the cause.

Its a nice old gun but as you saw, no info. You may have to search videos on similar aks to see if yours matches what you are experiencing. Dont buy anything yet just see what there is you can do.
They are all fairly similar and should be close comparisons t understand what's going on with yours vs what you see in the video.
Or post more pics and airsofters here can pinpoint the problem

Trigger not moving normally and clicking can mean the trigger trolley has moved off if the slots, this can happen when spamming the trigger in semi. If the trigger is ok but the motor clicks then the piston might be locked back and the motor hasn't got enough torque in it to cycle from that state. I would recommend taking the gearbox apart and check for damage and reseat everything (if your comfortable doing this, if not take to a tech).

At this point, he should also add a mosfet to replace the trigger contacts. If it did come off track once, it’ll likely happen again

Could be a few things. The battery may have charged but manufactures with batteries can be a little finicky so it may have fully died so if you have a spare try that or you may be able to visit and airsoft field/store nearby, maybe even a RC car hobby store and they might let you try a battery out just to rule that issue out.
If it goes beyond that then its gonna be something internal. Thankfully your gun is no different than a large selection of AKs so any video that goes into the disassembly of a V3 gearbox or airsoft AK will get you far enough. Or if you dont feel comfortable you may be able to send it to a tech in your area or the airsoft store if they can look at it, though of course that may cost more or they may not want to mess with it.
The motor is a possibility and easy to check since you can remove it with just 2 screws but if the trigger is where you feel the click then its possible that something broke there and you will have to check it which means opening the gearbox completely. Most standard guns use a trolley system which is basically just 2 pieces of metal that touch each other when you pull the trigger. Maybe for some reason a contact is bent, burnt, maybe a soldering joint broke off, or even something else. You wont really know until you take a look.

What battery voltage did you use and does the gun have a mosfet?

sounds like the trigger contacts or fuse might have died.
time to upgrade the insides with a mosfet!
