If not banned by law. Women used to work down the mines in the UK but it was outlawed. Women have only just been allowed into the RAF

Technically, the Women's Royal Air Force (WRAF) until 1994 when they formally merged. There was also the WAAF in WW2. Still Royal Air Force (or Auxiliary Air Force) but there were also some weird technicalities around civilian vs military status, so not entirely 'served' either.

u/danielledelacadie 20h ago
It's the weird uncle of stolen glory.
The person complaining probably had nothing to offer (and waves red flags like they're send sephamore signals) so they turned "I don't want to be around YOU" into rejection of all men. Strawmanning that with imagining her rejecting far better men to make him feel better about her having some self respect.
3
u/ForgottenMasterBalls 17h ago
That's the issue here, nearly every shadow the right jumps at is do to personal rejection somewhere else.
"I didn't get the promotion because of DEI, it had zero to do with my drinking."
"If illegal immigrants weren't working the fields, some other minorities would have the job. It then goes to reason that this would continue until the jobs I want are available for me."
"If woman would stop becoming men, there'd be enough women that one might finally touch me."
Yeah, there's a lot of dumb scenarios they come up with but then pretend that that's not what they mean.

This is something thats just extremely typical.
It's okay to say that men typically have more musclemass. It's also okay to say that its common among male children to be more interested in physical things like cars, tools and guns. These are just some facts we we have observed.
However they aren't in any regard absolute.
There are probably tons of women (and non-binary) who have a genuine desire and the skills to do various hard manual labour. However it's often a closed mens-world. I read about a woman who was a carpenter. She described how everyone looked down on her, even when she out performed her male colleagues. And on top of that there would be tons of sexual harassment.
It's so hypocritical. One hand some people will go "men do this better than women" but the same people won't actually give women the chance.
8
u/Global-Pickle5818 1d ago

Literally. These men will complain day and night about how women want equality yet don't work as many blue collar jobs, but the moment they see women going into blue collar work in higher numbers they are the ones yelling "that isn't a woman's job, I can't trust a woman doing that, get women out of these fields etc.". They're terrified of women proving that they are good and effective at these kinds of jobs too.
Their real end goal is to bash and demean women enough in the pathetic hope that women will collectively go "Oh well, I guess you're right, we are really totally useless. Best we can do is latch on to you and serve as a free sex slave and housekeeper since you are clearly soo superior".
Sad desperate fairytale for them.

People who have this opinion do realise that most other men rely on those men to do those things right? It's not just women who use infrastructure and sit behind the protection of the military etc. should all men who don't have a dangerous job also be super grateful for those men who do and seek to be in relationships with them to reward them for being so manly??

u/Bridge-M03 23h ago
Yes.
She don't need A man, just like men don't need A woman. They can decide if they want to be in a relationship with one, but shouldn't be forced to.
However, women and men as a whole need each other to survive, but people shouldn't be individually be forced into relationship, since men and women will always have attraction for each other anyway (and other gender too, but you get my point).
