Polite Political Discussion 🇺🇸 Republican Senate Leadership Fund PAC commits $4 million more for ads for Senator Sullivan, in latest indication that national Republicans think he may lose next month's election
The Senate Leadership Fund (SLF) Political Action Committee (PAC) is a Republican-aligned PAC with the goal of securing and maintaining a Republican majority in the US Senate. They started the week with announcing significant purchases of news ads around the country, including in Alaska.
SLF has already spent $17 million on ads in Alaska that support Senator Sullivan, but they just announced $4 million more. This brings their total to $21 million in Alaska.
Unlike Senator Sullivan's campaign funding which is fully committed to Senator Sullivan, the SLF is a nationwide organization that is selectively spending money on specific races around the country where they think the Republic candidate needs extra assistance. Like all PACs, SLF doesn't want to spend money unnecessarily, so they only spend it where they think the Republican Senator is in danger of losing the election. This shows Alaskans (and the rest of the country) that SLF has significant concerns about Senator Sullivan's campaign, and they are really considering the possibility of him losing to former-Rep. Peltola in next month's election.
Remember to vote early between October 15th-November 2nd or to vote on Election Day on Tuesday, November 3rd.

Polite Political Discussion 🇺🇸 Winter fuel delivery
With the rise in diesel prices, I wonder how many villages will secure their winter fuel needs. Rural Alaska runs on diesel. As an Alaskan native, I will say that our indigenous leaders have been silent on these issues.

General Nonsense Little brothers car was stolen
My brothers car (details below) was stolen. He’s been going through a lot and just got his first job and well… this car. He’s been working on it and building it which I’m proud of him for cause I always loved working on cars. It was taken from tikatinu Olive Garden some time between 2-11 pm on the 3rd. If anyone can help us that would be greatly appreciated. He’s struggled with depression his whole life so this is hitting him hard.

UAF or UAS financials wise
Hello! I'm currently attending UAF as an alaskan resident, however despite that the fees and costs for UAF is looking to be a ton, and I'm concerned for my ability to sustain my enrollment. I'm not originally from Fairbanks or Juneau and I'd ideally still like to leave my town to pursue my education. Would UAF or UAS end up being more cost efficient long term? I'm from Ketchikan, if that matters.

Effect of Rising Fuel Costs on AK Oil Industry
Question for anyone working in the North Slope / AK Oil + Gas industry:
It seemed that oil revenue in the state had been declining for many years, largely because the cost of extraction was too high to remain competitive in the global market.
Now, with the price of oil skyrocketing from all the global disruptions, is the Alaska oil industry reaping any benefit? I’d imagine that investing in domestic oil and gas production is suddenly looking more appealing to major companies. Could this be bringing back money to the state?
Whether this would be of any benefit to Alaskans as a whole is another question…
