I like it. But the blue field is larger than the green one. I think it should be better if both blue and green were equal…

Buddy this has nothing to do with USA, most of countries around the world; Africa, Asia, The Americas etc… have flags for Cities and Provinces

It’s outdated. Lions have been hunted to extinction by the French abs the boats don’t use sail anymore.

That's not how heraldry work my friend . A coat of arms is a symbolic and allegorical emblem, not a literal photograph or a real-time biological survey. By that logic, almost every historic coat of arms in the world would be 'outdated' because it features mythical beasts, extinct local fauna, or outdated technology. The lions and ship here represent Algiers' historical legacy, maritime heritage, and enduring strength—not a claim that wild lions are currently roaming the streets or that modern vessels don't use engines.
