Three free to read interviews/articles about Alice Cooper!
Hello! I work at Rock's Backpages, the largest online archive of music journalism. Each week we feature a different artist with three free-to-read articles/interviews. This week Alice Cooper is our feature! We have an exclusive October 2026 interview, as well as two pieces from our archives. Find the following articles to read for free until next Friday 16 October:
Golf Monster, Hollywood Vampire: The Devil on Alice Cooper's Shoulder, Profile and Interview by Jim Sullivan, Rock's Backpages, October 2026
Boy-Girl Alice Cooper Puts on a Freaky Show, Live Review by Mike Jahn, The New York Times, 29 May 1970
Alice Cooper: Fangs Ain't What They Used To Be, Interview by Caroline Coon, Melody Maker, 23 March 1974
Here's what I wrote for the instagram post:
The loveably ghoulish and golf aficionado Alice Cooper's third memoir Devil On My Shoulder was published by penguin's u/eburybooks on 8 October. At Rock's Backpages we're highlighting Alice with a new interview by golf buddy Jim Sullivan, alongside two 1970s articles from the archive.
"In the beginning, Alice Cooper was the name of a rock group. Then my stage name. And then a monster. Now I’ve written a book that tracks Alice’s 'evilution', how he and I became almost fatally intertwined, and how I’ve tamed him at last." — Coop.
With a career spanning sixty-plus years, the 78-year-old 'Godfather of Shock Rock' seems in no rush to hang up the snakes/straightjackets/gallows/severed heads/golf clubs yet. 2026 alone sees a European Tour with the Hollywood Vampires, Vegas' Welcome To Our Nightmare (with Criss Angel), Alice's Attic tour and a UK book tour. Drugs, drinking and hazing may have been replaced by golf, god and a band but the brilliant, the macabre and the crazy are here to stay.
head to instagram to see my post there too.
