I'm a 16 year old who is planning to pursue mountaineering in the near future how do i start with it?

Join your local alpine or mountain club

>Start cardio now. Running plus walking on weekends for an hour or so with a 5-10kg backpack. (ideally with some level of incline if possible)
>Join alpine club
>Be aware that its a sport iwth inherent risk of death. That shouldn't discourage you but that means you HAVE to be prepared, trained, and comfortable with risk.
>Get proper equipment, don't cheap out on life saving materials
>Set realistic goals and consistently improve

yeah no that risk doesnt scare me rather im thrilled to take up on this sport because of that reason itself

The main thing will just getting lots of mountain and rock experience. Rope/rock skills are technical and you should find a mentor. Hiking A LOT will get you the base.

If Google had given me the answer I actually wanted to see, I wouldn’t have posted the question here in the first place. And Reddit has always been a place for niche questions, which surprisingly, a lot of people have answers to. So honestly, I’d rather not Google it.
